    I think, Rob, one of your last comments was the one that crystallized everything for me, when Chrissy was asking you if you could say it's nice to retire here in the Philippines: "I'm happy to be here with YOU." Yup, a match with a woman like Chrissy would make ANYWHERE worth living. Period. A partner who's willing to grow a relationship based on love and mutual respect, who's thoughtful and mature enough to know herself and to know what it will take for her to commit, to take chances. So the last 5 minutes of this video covered a lot of ground. I'd say, people can do all the homework and research -- that'll help keep you safe. But to succeed in life, really that takes two people with "the right stuff" coming together. Again, congrats to you both, and thanks for trying to show us the ropes.

    Great interview! Chrissy is great interviewer. I got a lot out of it. I have been there a number of times and the best part are the people, the spirit of the people, the joy they have, the stress less lifestyle, the lower cost of living, amazing natural beauty almost unmatched anywhere in the world, and the beautifully young Filipinas. I’m not sure I can actually live there. I am an adaptable person. I’ve been to China alone many times since 1989. On my trips to the Phillipines I have met amazing Filipinas that could be great partners. That was easy (no online dating for me). It’s the reality of getting around and things that are not smooth many times a week. I took the bus from BGC to Tagatay and it took 6 hours! It was supposed to be 2. That’s just one example. Security guards telling me wrong directions. Understanding under the surface what is really going on with people. It may be my final destination. I’m not sure yet. Malaysia, Thailand, Siem Reap, Ubud, Da Lat, Da Nang, and other destinations in SE Asia are very tempting. I explored beyond UA-camr recommendations and explored myself. I found English spoken in all these countries. It will be the adventure of my life after a lifetime of successes in every way. I agree with deciding to expatriate. If I hadn’t made bold decisions my entire life this would be hard. Thank you again for your efforts!

    Hi Chrissy
    I'm married to a bueatyful filipina from the province. She's from Sibonga Cebu. I was 60 and she was 30 with a 4 year old girl. That was 6 1/2 years ago. We traveled Asia and South and Central America. I married her last year in Costa Rica. We're working on getting visas for USA now. She's the best thing that ever happened in my life. You remind me of her. Your partner is a lucky man. You seem to make a great couple. I wish you and your son all the best! Good luck.

    Yes, this was an especially valuable video. Those were all very good questions from Chrissy. I think some of the very first words which should be said by the man online is that he will be sending no money, and that he will plan to meet in person. This is a sieve for the man to filter out scammers and it is assurance for the female that there could be a future for her to pursue. I also agree with a reasonable amount given to her family without feeling being taken advantage of.
    You two seem to have struck a very nice balance in your lives. I think one of the keys to your relationship is that both of you have something in which you may share and enjoy together. Chrissy has a certain air of contentment in life, which I believe comes from one of her creative passions in life, and of which she has great talent in…her singing. She knows how to make herself happy, and so, has no unrealistic expectations of demanding that her man make her happy.
    Your relationship gives hope to others, not merely through your words, but through our eyes. Everything seems to be right in your interaction with each other in intonation and through all the unspoken cues given. With your new home, everything seems to be in place for a very fruitful and deeply satisfying relationship.
    Again, a very good video.

    Very nice interview. You and I are similar temperament and age. I tried Philippines a couple times. Loved the people but could not take the bad food, uncomfortable transportation, bad air, typhoons destroying infrastructure, trash and garbage, noise, and lately high prices. I think the northern Luzon mountains would have worked for me, but then a typhoon destroyed the roads and so could not follow my plan to motorbike the region. . . Colombia in the higher mountain cities has proved ideal. Really easy to eat healthy without spending much, modern, no bad weather, close to and cheap to fly to US, great country roads for mountain biking, very friendly people. I'd like to find a woman like Crissy, maybe I'll import one to South America, LOL.

    Very good vlog my friend but your woman would need to work a total of 10 total years to be eligible for Social Security and her payout would be very paltry because the formula is based on 35 total years of employment. 25 years of zeros would be calculated into her payout. OUCH. Have you considered just contributing monthly into the Philippines Social Security system for her ? There are several calculators on line that estimate what a potential SS monthly payout could be if you wish to bring her to America but you also need to factor the cost of Medicare B and supplements for medical , dental and prescriptions. I have my degree in Economics so I have a tendency to obsess about these kinds of things.

    I doubt Rob is a fool like I am. I am always happy to discuss my feelings for my pinay. I don't believe that would make her happy though. HA!
    Making babies concerns me too. Is having a baby at my age a responsible thing for me to do at my age? I doubt it, but she wants it. Watch us both end up in the hospital at the same time. [joke]
    Rob will always love you, but I think he, like me, just can not understand what you lovely ladies see in us. Rob is right. The women we love look much more beautiful than the pinays around them.
    I'm at 16:48 in the interview and I find that I like Rob! I don't like anyone, so I'm shocked! [joke]
    In what part of the Philippines did these bad things happen to him? Cebu is where my pinay wants me to go to meet her...

    You mentioned that maybe you and Chrissy would move to the States for five years so she could get social security. My understanding is when you put on her finger then nine months later she would be eligible for Social Security Survivor benefits and if you adopt her child then they would also get survivor benefits after you die until they are 18. If you and Chrissy are married for ten years then at 62 she would also get half your SS benefits even if you are still hanging around at 97 (I figure maybe, just maybe I have till 87 at most). So come back to the States if you want to live here, but not needed for SS benefits. She would need to work a good many years to make more in SS benefits than half your total. If she teaches here then she might be on a pension plan which has its own benefits, but complexity depending on the state, with SS. Check with a tax firm that deals with expats to be sure.

    maybe it's just my personal experience, but there isn't much difference of "feel" in dating women anywhere from ~26-45 on a personal compatibility perspective socially. Most people have completed the majority of their adult maturation right around the 28 year old mark and they aren't going to change significantly. The only meaningful difference tends to in short to intermediate goals, like having children.
    For that reason I've never felt like dating a woman in her mid to late 20s was any different than dating someone more my age. Having said that, there does seem to be a lot of maturation that happens between that 18-24 age range were I personally felt a little uncomfortable dating that young. But maybe if you're in your 40s or early 50s and still want to have kids (and not raise someone elses kid) that's just kind of what you have to work through, because it's pretty rare to find a Filipina past 24 than doesn't have a child.

    • @FlyMeToThePhilippines
      @FlyMeToThePhilippines  8 місяців тому +1

      Serious brain damage involved in having a house built here you have to supervise very carefully and purchase all the materials yourself. There’s a channel called Texas Filipino. He’s in the process of finishing a house. He has been building and he spends every single day at the construction site and has a lot of personal building knowledge.

    • @justsmy5677
      @justsmy5677 7 місяців тому +2

      Careful when buying. Foreigners can not own property in the PI, so the house will be in her name. Also. there is a LOT of property in the PI that does not have a clear title, so that would involve a lot of time and lawyer fees to fix. Property is often passed down within the family. Then someone sells you a lot that does not have a clear title, then all the sudden 15 of the sellers cousins show up wanting their piece of the action, because they have just as much claim as the seller due to them all sharing the same grandparents.
      It is hard to find a good architect and contractor in the PI. It is also sometimes hard to keep construction supplies from walking off from the job site overnight.
