The time has come to leave the Cook Islands...well, technically the time has passed because our tourist visa expired while we were riding out the never ending blow in Palmerston. The weather has settled and we have a very small window to sail to the tiny island of Niue.
Our seas are stunning, the down wind sail is perfect and the cats are loving the smooth ride. Until Mother Nature decides to throw us a curve ball: 30+ knots of wind for 24 hours straight. There's a massive weather system blowing 60+ just south of us, so the waves build in no time!
The waves don't look huge from the video but believe me when we tell you they were crashing over the hard top. That means they were at least 15 feet tall! Whew, the force of those waves remind us just how powerful the seas can be.
Thanks for watching and please, if you enjoyed this video send it to a friend! It helps us tremendously.

I've watched probably a thousand sailing episodes among the various channels, and I've never, ever seen people be more excited about the weather in a particular window on their journeys. Must have been pretty freaking tastic.
I have followed you since before you bought your boat, and still after every episode I watch every week I can't stop smiling and just enjoying every single second of your videos.
Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you do for me and all of us who follow your adventures. 🧡💛💚💙💜
I have followed y’all from the beginning. I really thought y’all were goobers and knew nothing about sailing. It has truly been amazing watching y’all grow and become very good sea people. Hope you’re journey continues for many years! Thanks for sharing y’all’s vlog!
Wow! That was one of the greatest videos I've seen that makes me feel the joys and worries of an ocean crossing in a cat. Thank you.
I love the way you guys wear your pfds AND clip yourselves in, you could teach a lot of other people who seem convinced that bad things happen only happen to other people.
With Curiosity comes adventure. Thanks for dragging me out of bed in Boston and bringing me half way around the world this morning. Hard to beat Sunday morning coffee with the Wynns. ❤️
Always love the music you choose for the videos. Nikki, your cooking always looks so delicious. Bet that tuna was great.. yum!
That was sooo fun to watch! You really did great on the music choices and you editing was awesome! I couldn’t turn away throughout the vide. You guys are so good together!☺️
Awe, thanks for the love! 😻
The music you choose is so perfect for the feeling you want to portray. It makes me soo excited to go sailing.
Best and favorite sailing couple and channel out there. Always thankful for the insight and quality of production. Please never stop...
💙💙
Ol girl has the body and the cooking skills! This dude hit the jackpot life!
Wow. ! Glad to see y’all ok. Lots of Nikkie today. ! 😁. Y’all are great together and y’all videos keep getting better and better!! Thanks for sharing!!
I had been virtually sailing for the last one week and by far this is one of the best videos to have come across. Beautiful content. ❤️. Fair winds always
Ah what a life (and what a catch that was!). Held my breath a bit there for those waves, storms are bad enough on land let alone at sea. Glad you guys made it safe and sound ❤️
I've completed your entire collection of your Cook Islands videos. So sad to leave. The scenery is awesome and inspiring to work to save the planet. I love what you're doing bringing the rest of the world visible to those of us that don't have this opportunity.
Another ahhhhmazing video! We never want any of your episodes to come to an end, though in this one it was a relief to see you get in sight of the island and it's wind protection. You two are great and we wish for you safe, inspiring & joyful adventures always!
Weather like that will definitely make you respect the ocean and realize how insignificant you are in the grand scheme of things . Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
One should never underestimate the skills attained from nautical living. From vessel maintenance to becoming a fine cook. You two are doing a fine job. Welcome home and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.
Glad you guys are ok!!!
I’ll say they’re doing great. I know when they announce that they were doing this new adventure. Oh my gosh did the sailing haters come out. “You weren’t raised on the water”! “ You have no right to be sailing”???! I was like oh my gosh that’s insanity. You can learn to do almost anything on UA-cam!😂
@@chefevilee9566 I think a lot of us just grow into it. I remember going to sea at 17 and knowing nothing about any of it. I worked as a deckhand with several really great skippers who encouraged my motivation and growth. It's surprising how far one can go with great work habits and integrity. How is it possible that when I look around these days, it's become such a rare thing? Learn some skills, show up on time, do the work, look out for your shipmates. (shrugs)
Hastur of Carcosa Oh of course experience of doing anything definitely is key.
Yeah the work ethic is horrifying. This has happened repeatedly in history.
Amen and my brother advised me, "The Boat/Vessel is Tougher than You".
Second time i watch this vlog. What is most remarkable is your positive attitude!
Hi Guys its Sunday Dec. 15th 2019. Having my coffee with the Wynns. Gary from Miami Lakes, Florida.
Hi Gary, Connie from Kennebunkport, Maine...Loving the Wynns!
@robt555 When like in the last decade??
Where do you reside now??
robt555: you don’t have to tell me your age, I learned long ago that unless your lovable Grandpa was named Gary too, then you must be at least in your late 60’s. Lol! We’ll never be too old for this kind of sailing however. What a great gift the cute kids are!
@@garyherlth9031 >>> FWIW: I lived in S. Dade 1988 to 1992, and N. Dade from 1992 to 1995. I'm originally from St. Pete.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Sailing is therapy
I"m glad you had perfect sailing days regardless of squeaky lines, caught fish, would you rather be in traffic, gridlock, of course not, you are in the sail of your lives, Merry Christmas!
Haven’t watched a video since starting to cruising full time with our family of 8 one year ago...SOOO impressed with you both. How far you’ve come...and gone. 2 guides help us along...Jimmy Cornell...and Jason & Nicky Wynn.
Class, professionalism, & style. Paul & Sheryl of Distant Shores must be proud to she you both pick up where they left off.
That tuna looked so good!
I have work this morning. But i was glued to your channel overnight. Amazing footage.
That just means you can have extra coffee - win! Thanks for hanging with us. 💙💛💙
What makes me most jealous is catching a fish and eat it the same day totally fresh. Bon appetite!
My fave sushi is yellow fin tuna
Your music has really steppedup
You forgot the total free part.
You can have same day fish simply by going to wherever fish is landed near you and buy a fish.
@@pauleohl I am from austria, more mountains than sea water. And yes, I can buy fresh fish here but it is not the same than catching your own. I sometimes buy fresh trout here because we have a lot of lakes, but a fresh red snapper or tuna I have to order and it costs a lot.
In St Pete Beach Fl, There's a restaurant called Sea Critters Cafe on boca ciega bay.You can pull up on the dock after a day of fishing, with a fish that you've skinned and filleted, give it to your server and they will cook it and serve it to you. Pretty Awesome experience!
One of your best videos yet! Beauty in and on the water. Beauty in the sky. Night shots. Sharing the intimate night together under the moon, eating Yellowfin sushi in the sun.
Enjoying life. Thanks for sharing!
I needed Dramamine just to watch that! Well done Wynn's.
Denise Farrell: I’m with you, I get seasick in the bath 😎.
No kidding.
Good morning Wynn’s from cloudy, chilly Portland, OR🌧☕️ This episode ranks at the top. Five stars all around. Gourmet cooking, expert sailing and mechanical abilities and superb music. Thank you for taking me along on all of your glorious adventures. ✌️🥰⛵️
Overall I am very impressed with how well your boat is holding up.
I love going back and watching your videos, I miss seeing your fur babies 😺😺
This really does have an ethereal production quality. Wow.
Truly amazing. Makes my heart ache even more for the open ocean.
It's crazy how this video just makes your mind wander all over the place!
Ya'll be safe!
Another great video. They get better and better!!! Sunday is becoming an ever more important day!
Even an angry sea is beautiful. You have made my week complete. TFTR
Knowing you guys are safe here in the states was about the only reason I wasn't chewing my dang fingernails watching this episode. Glad everything turned out okay and can't wait for next week.
You always have such a positive story, maybe that is why you win
That Tuna looks awesome.
Your production skills are amazing! I don't know how you do it but almost every episode is better than the last. Well done! I have to admit that the passage through the stormy seas got my heart rate up and I imagine yours was as well. Already looking forward to next Wynnday.
Thank You for uploading . I always love the sea and missed the sea since I left the navy a decade ago. Smooth sailing, blue sky and calm sea.
Another taste of your fine adventure. Thanks so much.
sitting in Ransom Canyon Texas dreaming about the ocean breeze!
Awesomeness guys!
In Canyon, Texas? Panhandle?
Thanks for the experience without having to do any of the work. Glad to see that Jason is strapped on & safe. Teamwork got everything done.
Whew, glad you made it safely! ⛵️
Loving the boat and water show music is fantastic
she is certainly sea Worthy , thanks guys i am living the dream through you guys
The ease that people can make so many friends like the Wynns is such a wonderful testament to the fact that there are so many great people in the world and beauty. Easy to forget or think otherwise when living in modern day USA with the constant bombardment of negativity and fear. We are constantly pushed to hate each other much more than anything else.
So good to see yall wearing your safety stuff! What an exciting run! Nice tuna also.
Nice video guys, and those big waves are why you chose a leopard in the first place.
Thanks for the story of Palmerston, I used to send supplies there many years back. All the best Steve and Chrissy.
"I was made to fall in love with you"...perfect song for that amazing sunset 🙏..Wait that first sunrise ain't so bad either💙
Jay Slovin and who does this song ?
Featured artists are listed in the description box in the order they appear, with a link to where their music can be found. They're also listed at the end of each blog post, and the blog always has bonus content!
Curious Minion
Very nicely shot/edited. Music selection and overlay is superb.
Just rewatching this dreaming of better days when the world wasn’t insane.
Every day is an adventure! You got both end of the spectrum on this crossing, that’s for sure.
I have faith in you " Captain Audrey " Everthing is under control!
Who in the world could not enjoy your videos aboard Curiosity. Calm or rough seas you have beauty and respect. My Wife and I love the South Pacific and your videos remind us why. Stay safe and keep up the great work.
I was made to fall in love with you should be your theme song. You obviously love each other, you love what you are doing, you love sharing it with us and of course we love watching you. That's a whole lot of love. Just saying.
A Whole Lotta 💘
And here's some back. 💙💙💙
Live life on your own terms!! Lots of respect to both of you.
Great job guys!! We’re T minus 47 days til we go to cat sailing school. Looking forward to living the dream. Thanks for your inspiration!
Woooo Hoooo!!!!!!!
How has it been??
Love to start my Sunday with the Wynns, explorers extraordinaire!
I enjoy it and I love the video, something in that video ( maybe the water ) washed and cleaned my soul up.
A good saltwater splash always invigorates the soul 😁
Big seas and high winds and big smiles...well done.😁😁
Cute sitting side by side eating that awesome tuna you cooked!
Have watched you from the start of your travels and have been very impresses with both of your attitudes and working together. Nikki you are absolutely beautiful! This episode showed you in such contentment I felt I was on-board your adventure. Not the 3rd day though. You both work hard and have come a long ways from your first time taking the boat out by yourselves. Thank you for showing more of your family. They are cute but one seems to stay away from the main area. Perhaps wants to sleep. Not every couple can spend so much time in a small space 24 hours a day. It is not easy but you both share the ups and down so well. I am impressed how you both keep your boat so clean. A pleasure to share.
Keep up the great editing and sometimes I wish your videos were longer. Great work both of you!
Wow, that seared tuna and rice looks fantastic.
Wowza, What a beautiful life you are creating.
It cracks me up that you open a hatch that looks completely full, like, to the brim and then you completely disappear in it to spray the gear.
😆😆 Boat yoga FTW!
Love this one Nikki and Jason,! I've never sailed but anytime you guys dedicate most of the ep to that , they are always my fav GWTW eps. Never stop these adventures in a boat!! pros through and through. cheers Steve
I worked as a diving tour guide in Palawan the Philippines. We always had a line out and the usual catch was tuna. It was quite often eaten raw within an hour of being caught. It was a beautiful thing.
Hi David, did you encounter large sharks or sea snakes?I've been to palawan, and cebu, very beautiful.Take care.
ur giggle at 18:00 is just priceless kind of the look ur mom would give wen u didnt take her advice.smile happy hoidays safe boating
4:18 that dark water with the glowing orange clouds is stunning. Absolutely gorgeous!
You kids are adorable . . . . I can’t help but grin the whole time I watch you each week. A beautiful couple . . . God Bless you both Safe Travels.
Now I have to go to sleep, will watch tonight as it’s 1.23 am here in Melbourne Australia.
Great all sailing what more can i ask for. !!!!!!
Oh come on, what's 20 more minutes?? 😆😆😎 Sleep well.
Love you guys thatsss really amazing
I love it :-) Those are my kind of Seas... I sail monohulls (no biggie), but when I get into those waves and winds, I get Hyped... There's nothing like the adrenaline rush... Man has never made a Roller coaster that can compare... And when I'm out there alone, I have to be on good terms with the Gods... :-)
Star Wars marathon on the tv, Wynns on the PC, this is a good Sunday. I cut up a fish once in the 6th grade for science class. And nearly threw up and had to stop. And she just says "chop!" like it's nothing.
Tuning in for my Sunday dose of GWTW!!
My most favorite video. Thanks so much for sharing
Nicely done story/arc for a trip with everything, including inundation! But what hit me was the night shots....moon and stars and waves, oh my, all that equipment does pay a dividend. Very nicely done.
Thank you guys for the good times!!!
I overslept but I knew that the Wynns would get me going with their journey and my hot coffee - thank you and be safe
Wow that would be so scary, especially at night. You guys are so brave.
Live like a king
Sailing is such hard work. You both have the best videos and music to go with it. I appreciate your dedication to your craft and your journey. I can’t wait for the next chapter.
I would rather put up with the snowstorm We just had in Perth Ontario Canada Than a wave bigger than my boat. Amazing video, so entertaining.
💙
Ottawa gang 🤙 how are you putting up with the storm we got today
Alex McDougall 20 centimeters here, not too bad. Newfoundland is another story!
This one is definitely a top video for you both. The music, the honest emotions, the change in the weather(!), and even some of Zinga.
Keep it up guys, look forward to these every week.
I would like to have seen more of Nikki cleaning & gutting the Yellowfin fish that was caught which surely was a meal fit for KING & QUEEN, the Wynns.
Thank God for UA-cam and sailboats and adventurous people like yourselves! What a great thing, your videos will be on UA-cam long after we're all gone, for future generations to get excited about the open ocean by. Thank you for taking the time to create edit and post your videos:)
If you wanna see some crazy seas, look for 1998 Sydney to Hobart ocean race. That was the craziest seas ever documented on video. Unfortunately 6 people lost their lives and 7 yachts sank.
Your editing is ultra ultra nice,
Swamped by breaking waves. Badass soundtrack. Best video of the decade!
I am related to Captain James Cook through the Fleck family and I approve of this video.
😍
Keep that one quiet among polynesians. Lol
No doubt!
I am so glad you are tidy people and keep things put away. The wave could have been much worse if essentials had not been stowed. Thank you for sharing your travels with us.
This "journey" of yours has been- as I see it- a Great Spirtual journey for the two of you! You're finding an Island that is not on the map!😊
World Class Chow!!!
I’m a professional baker. So I’m not a savory chef. But I like to think that I can bang out some savory food. I’m going to tell you what Nikki is a good cook I am impressed ✊
I hope everything‘s OK because the the trip was cut short.
Wonderful big sailboat with a competent captain. Nothing to be afraid of.Not for ordinary people to travel like this
The quality of your videos is better than a lot of stuff I see on TV. I used to follow you two for information on full time RV life, now I watch because of your adventures and lovable personalities. Oh, and the cats of course. Great video.
8:12 TWSS
Nikki is a fine cook! Actually what I think I meant to say is that she is a good cook, and she is FINE! Seriously, I am not a tuna fan but that looked delicious.
My top favourite Chanel, has been for a long long time, you two are SAILORS, natural entertainers of a fabulous life we get to watch weekly, so thank you and give yourselves a pat on the back! Much RESPECT to you both, as you called it Nicky! Merry Christmas from our hot as usual Australia 🎄 are you still riding your bikes or up to your knees in snow? I’m going back to watch your epic whale adventure one more time, the most beautiful video I can recall ever watching! ⛵️🐳..
🙏🙏😊😚
As long as the boat is still sound, life’s good 🌲
