At 3:05 this Bentley Continental video switches to a documentary about the British Royal family’s fleet of Rolls Royces. Hasn’t anyone else noticed?

Bill Medcalf was such a gifted and great man! I was so sad to hear that he died on January 28th 2012, a year ago. His kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. - R.I.P. Bill !
The Phantom IV shown was delivered in 1950, not 1948 as stated. It was the first in the Phantom IV series, a model that was not made available to the general public as it was intended for royalty and heads of state. Not really an ordinary Rolls-Royce as stated.
If the car fleet is State owned I look forward to my turn being driven to collect my loaf of bread and milk from my local Co-op (other stores are available). Meanwhile thank you for showing the video.
I think Her Majesty's idea of "basics" is a bit different from ours! Has she ever "owned" anything in her life, which didn't cost ten times more than everything we have?
She has used and owned for many years a very very old Land Rover defender when she has her private time. Most of their privately paid for stuff is decades old. Prince Charles wrist watch which he wears daily is at least twenty years old, his son William wears to this day a basic Omega Seamaster quartz that his mother gave him. Shoes might be hand made by Lobb but they are old and have had frequent refurbishment and repairs. Unlike private individuals they don’t throw money around on lots of flash new toys, they buy quality once and keep it forever! The queen uses a Parker 61 fountain pen that is almost sixty years old to this day! I’m saying these things as not a huge fan of Royalty but simply stating the facts, like them or loathe them in private the British Royals are quite spendthrift. The public owned stuff is a very different thing but it’s not theirs, it’s the states.
Only shows how unequal the money is divided today in the world. A small group have everything and the rest nothing. In the U.K. UNICEF is now feeding starving children, something that organisation normally only do in countries of war or the third world. Brexit was all about tax avoidance for the super rich sold a sovereignty and fishing waters, what ever that means if you don’t have a job and food on the table.
back when it was first released in the 50's the lancia aurelia was just as much as a rolls royce and more expensive than a bentley. I don't mean the royal cars i just mean the "regular" production models
Why the need for hyperbole, myth, truth stretching? The R-Type Continental's a lovely, beautifully crafted, tuned version of the standard Bentley, tho' the amount of rear overhang is a bit cartoony and "seating for four adults" a bit of a stretch, given the cramped headroom in the rear seat. With anxious Crewe engineers watching, one razor tuned by the factory reached 116 mph. Now we get the above's narration, "....speeds over 120 mph..." Why can't we enjoy these survivors AND accuracy?

The Bentley is a stunning beauty! This is the first time I've seen one. Wow!
Viewed from the front, they are almost indistinguishable from the Mk8 & Mk9 Jaguars.
Omg!...What, a Stunning Collection of the Best!
I worked at a hospital near Mansfield early 70s and the Chief Surgeon had a black type R, very impressive.
Doctor in the House?
That is a beautiful car

You can keep your trashy Ferraris and gin palace Cadillacs, this is the car for me!

John Peel, well, well, well ...
You ride in a Rolls, you drive a Bentley.
Remember that the R type was just a Mk.6 with a few improvements. As such if all else is equal it's worth no more than a Mk.6
Were they bulletproof?
Has a rolls hood and a Skoda rear end.
850k today seems really silly

Good vlz😂
A special bit of engineering that leaves an oil stain on the brick floor.
A special bit of stupidity that leaves a stain in the comment section.
i love the fact that the lancia aurelia was more expensive than this
Explain what you mean??
back when it was first released in the 50's the lancia aurelia was just as much as a rolls royce and more expensive than a bentley. I don't mean the royal cars i just mean the "regular" production models
Actually that is inaccurate. This was a coachbuilt R type Continental. The most expensive production car in the world.
