Pronunciation is, on the whole, pretty spot on! Interesting that you mention the Tay bridge disaster! The only ancestor of mine to work on the railways - my great, great, grand uncle - was the postal guard on the train that plummeted from the bridge when it collapsed. His watch was recovered and is on display in the Dundee museum. Over a century later that guards great, great grand nephew (me) now works for Scotrail and travels over the replacement bridge most days!
Cross country have now disabled their tilting feature for the super voyager as they also have the normal voyager. They have done it to reduce maintenance costs
Great video once again, this is such a fun route. Must go back and have a go on it again. By the way all Cross Country Voyagers, both 220s and 221s have had their tilt system deactivated. Also a couple of interesting facts about the Tay Bridge accident. There was one survivor, the steam locomotive itself, which was raised from the river bed and restored to running and worked for another 20+ years. The other is pretty tragic, one of the passengers on the train was the son in law of the engineer, Sir Thomas Bouch. He himself died less than a year after the accident a broken man. There was a flaw in his design which hadn't allowed for wind loading. Which is incredible when you think of how exposed to the north sea weather it is there.
William Mankelow Interesting. I knew quite a lot about the disaster, and it was very tragic. I can't believe they didn't account for wind loading in that location!
+PTGRail The Longest service on Uk railways is the Cross Country From Glasgow to Penzance via Edinburgh and Birmingham New Street calling at: Motherwell Haymarket (Edinburgh) Edinburgh Waverley Berwick-Upon-Tweed Morpeth Newcastle Durham Darlington York Leeds Wakefield Westgate Sheffield Chesterfield Derby Tamworth Birmingham New Street Cheltenham Spa Bristol Parkway Bristol Temple Meads Taunton Tiverton Parkway Exeter St Davids Newton Abbot Totnes Plymouth Liskeard Bodmin Parkway Par St Austell Truro Redruth Camborne St Erth Penzance This Service is run by either a Class 220 or Class 221 by Cross Country and takes 11h 5min (about 12hrs)
No he's right. 1V60 goes all the way from Aberdeen to Penzance via Edinburgh, Leeds and Birmingham. It's the same route from Edinburgh as the Glasgow-Penzance, however, Aberdeen-Edinburgh is 2.5hrs compared to Glasgow-Edinburgh via Carstairs being 1 hour.
Interesting but the houses on the approach to Edinburgh don't have smoking chimneys and the buildings on the approach to Waverley as SO wrong! In addition, there is a new statin called Edinburgh Gateway between Dalmeny and South Gyle where passengers can alight and get the tram into the airport or the west of the city. AND.... the Forth Bridge (not The Forth of the Forth Bridge) is MUCH bigger in reality than appears here.
Thanks for the vid on my route that I made for JustTrains. It was released 3years ago this month (May) and back then Super-elevation track had only just come out in TS. You are correct on the Voyager XC service which runs today and have been on it from Dundee to Edinburgh many many times (as well as other services) This service was originally run by Virgin from Platform 2 at Dundee to Penzance when HST's where replaced with the brand new Voyagers. The tilt plates on the route for them where added as part of the JT Voy Adv feature but do not exist in real life. I have talked too a real driver since the release and all on-board tilt systems have been locked off permanently on XC services because of the cost of maintaining them. Your pronunciations of the Scottish areas are correct but have never heard 'Mark-in', this is as you say 'Mark-inch', also Aberdour is Aber-dower not dooner ha ha. For any viewers who have bought the route from Just Trains and would like Free bonus scenarios for the route just pop over to my website.. there are plenty there.. Thanks again regards Mully. mullys.webs.com/
One thing for me, is that I fly planes such as PMDG's in FSX and the detail is incredible. Coming to TS2015 I'm always so disappointed how such little of a cab is click-able and usable. I like that this had a few extras to increase the realism, but it still disappoints me a little. Old man moaning aside, nice video :)
Lovely video as always! Could you do some 'outside' shots of the trains in these series'? Also, can I ask you a question for the Q&A here? Many thanks, Josh.
Josh Thorpe Thank you :) It's difficult to do outside shots of the train when moving while also being able to focus on driving accurately. I will see what I can do at some point :) And yes, you can ask me a question here.
PTGRail Oh, ok. No problems! MY Q&A question- Would it be possible to d one of my workshop scenarios for an upcoming video? I shall send you a scenario on steam if you are ok with this.
PTGRail Just go on the workshop and type in Sheerness Steel and then go on to my workshop from there and pick whichever one you want :). Many thanks, Josh.
This might sound daft but i am just amazed at how people make these senarios. I do enjoy driving them. I wonder if ts will do a full run from london kings cross to edinburgh/glasgow/aberdeen and inverness. I will be one of the first to buy if it comes onto the ts. Keep up the good work. D
Enjoy these videos :) are there any East Midlands Trains routes? Specifically on the Skegness to Nottingham line or the Lincoln line? I've grown up with those trains and routes and wondering if TS did them.
I was on a shoestring budget using a cheap £10 Microsoft headset not designed for this. Since then, I've invested in a headset with an enhanced digital mic which sits to the side, so no pop filter required :)
Great video. As soon as you are doing the return of the Glasgow Central - Carlisle and Carlisle - Preston in the class 221 I have an idea for you, and you can use the class 221115 Bombardier from DP simulation if you want I will send a screenshot for you. :)
Angus Duncan I thought I said 'Kir-CAW-dy'? I knew that was how to pronounce it, so if I said otherwise I apologise for my mistake. I didn't know that about Inverkeithing however :)
+Kayleigh Watt I plan on covering that route at some point between Newcastle and Edinburgh, but I've had a few issues when trying to run it. Once they are sorted, I will cover that route.
Nice work but could I pick up on one point for realism. On this journey you pass trackside workers in high visibility clothing at several locations. I'm told the safety practice is to sound the train horn to warn of your approach. The workers should also acknowledge they have seen you. I enjoy the serious way you play these scenarios, far better that the non-stop chatter and jump to every view kids.
Just Letting Everyone Know When They Use The Voyager On Trains Simulator If they Hold Control Or Right Control And Maybe F12 They Can Change The Destanation On The Board
Great drive as always. What specifications is your computer? The graphics look lovely. Smooth and very realistic. I'm looking into buying a new laptop and want this game desperately! Thanks in advance for your reply. : )
+itsonlyme458 Thanks! My current PC is a four year old gaming PC. The specs are: AMD Phenom II X6 3.2ghz, 8gb DDR3 1333mhz RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 6970 2gb graphics card. I do often get performance issues with this setup, especially with the newer routes within the last year or so. That being said, just today I ordered the parts to build a brand new PC which should hopefully sort out the performance issues. The specs of the new PC will be: Intel Core i7 4790k, Asus Z97 Pro Gamer motherboard, 16gb DDR3 1866mhz RAM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 4gb graphics card. I hope this helps :)
What happened to the row of lights underneath the sign that says 'Tilting Super Voyager' in the cab? They were on up until the first stop, then they've been off ever since. Program bug?
70humdinger It is indeed a bug. The tilting system turned itself off after I reloaded from a save. That being said, it should be turned off anyway on Cross Country Voyagers.
I thought the Fife Circle was included in Train Simulator, as part as the ECML Scotland Pack, and Newcraighall is included, its part of the Edinburgh avoider line, which later joins on to the ECML after Musselburgh
lee the terminator The East Coast Main Line north of York, most of the West Coast Main Line, and across the Cross Country network to the Great Western Main Line. You can see it in quite a few locations :)
Michael Hope The latest version of Trainz has that route in full. It is set in 1976 with HST 125's. Looks good with the new graphics engine but i am not sure if such a long route can be mapped in TS2015.

I really enjoy your videos, especially the Scottish routes :)
Andrew Bustard Thanks :)
PTGRail i live in dundee!!
PTGRail do you have other channel s
Your first saying of Markinch was correct. Thanks for the 2 videos at my local station Edinburgh Waverly.
***** Thanks :) That's now three videos I've done in the Edinburgh area, though there's a few more to do in the coming months.
Thank you.
Hey Pete, great video! Cheers from Brazil!

HuntergreedGaming Thank you! I'm starting work on the next video this afternoon :)
Peter, Another great video. Many thanks. Roger Crick
Roger Crick Thank you Roger! :)
Fantastic video! Nailed the pronunciation too!
Iamthemaster2 Thank you! I'm starting to research pronunciations where I can :)
PTGRail great video
PTG rail, it's great to see some scottish videos. Fantastic I love it 😊

@Owen Stockwood I disagree that the default bad brakes are correct. It takes longer to stop than an HST, and that doesn't seem right to me lol
Nice vidios

I don't suppose you could model the fife circle too ??
+PGTRail i take that route every week to Kirkcaldy
Sam Maclennan, that's because this was the Aberdeen to Penzance service. I stated that at the start of the video :)
The break needle jump is probably about the dynamic breaking.
And the default bad breaks are correct for the same reason.
I love all you I'm big fan off you I like trains
kudos to you for pronouncing everywhere correctly
Thanks, I did try! :)
One thing for me, is that I fly planes such as PMDG's in FSX and the detail is incredible. Coming to TS2015 I'm always so disappointed how such little of a cab is click-able and usable. I like that this had a few extras to increase the realism, but it still disappoints me a little.

My god this route is so painfully inaccurate.

The do the routes to all those places
Enjoy these videos :) are there any East Midlands Trains routes? Specifically on the Skegness to Nottingham line or the Lincoln line? I've grown up with those trains and routes and wondering if TS did them.
It is Markinch, the first one you said
You need to do this rout again
PTGRail Have you ever been on that route? It is quite a nice route and the station after Kirkcaldy (Kinghorn) was voted one of the best kept ones.
Roblox Man I haven't but I would like to. The only route I've travelled in Scotland is when I was on a train from London to Inverness :)
PTGRail Also the Aberdour station is pronounced Aber-dow-our (Just a little correction ;3)
My favourite train
Hehe, I made this exact realtime scenario yesterday :D Looks exactly the same :P
+MrDreamliner Haha, so you made this scenario on this route with this timetable? :p
+PTGRail That's right!
there is a yellow sign and says: national cycle network edinburg to aberdeen
+PTG Rail the longest distance rail route in britain the most stops is the 17:20 or 17:28 Crewe to Cardiff central through the heart of wales line
He means the longest service in terms of distance, not the number of stops.
I know that this was recorded some time ago, but a pop screen might have helped with the audio quality.
+Tim O'Grady Sorry I can't send a screenshot to you of it sorry.
+Tim O'Grady I will check it out on the DP website and see what I think :)
The station Is Markinch
Pronunciation: Kir-CAW-dy and In-ver-KEE-VING
Angus Duncan I thought I said 'Kir-CAW-dy'? I knew that was how to pronounce it, so if I said otherwise I apologise for my mistake. I didn't know that about Inverkeithing however :)
I would like you do route learning edinburgh waverley to aberdeen on the HST, 22X or DMU. Thanks!
Unfortunately the line only currently goes as far as Dundee in Train Simulator. I will cover the full run to Aberdeen if it comes out in the future :)
ok thanks
Do a route learning video of Edinburgh to Morpeth in a class 91 East coast train

just started watching, hoping to expect a good run!

But the 221 with XCountry has tilt isolated...
Where do you get this route? Is it from JustTrains if it is how do you download routes and content from them? 👍🎃😁🙂
I know this is a very old video, but I notice the voyager you have sounds different to the voyager in other people videos.
This video utilised the old Armstrong Powerhouse Class 220/221 sound pack.
@@PTGRail ok
Can u please do a how to create a scenario Video since your videos are the best !
Chicken Gamer Many people have asked me for this so I am hoping to be able to make one at some point soon :)
Cool
+PTGRail I need your help do I buy the line from Bristol to Exeter or this one?
How do you get this cab view. Just downloaded advanced voyager and my cab view is right close up with no view of controls etc ? :(
I'm pretty sure the pronunciation of markinch is mar-kin-ch that's what I think it is
Can you please give me a download link for this scenario? Please I want it so badly!!
The Tay Bridge did not collapse as the result of a design flaw. It was the result of a contractor who supplied sub-standard mortar.
There was a design flaw in which the bridge wasn't constructed to withstand high enough winds.
Any chance of a class 50 on the Riviera line Pete?
Coul
Will you be doing a run between Glenrothes with Thornton and Newcraighall anytime soon? in a Class 156/158/170?
Andrew Bustard Unfortunately I don't think those routes currently exist in Train Simulator.
I thought the Fife Circle was included in Train Simulator, as part as the ECML Scotland Pack, and Newcraighall is included, its part of the Edinburgh avoider line, which later joins on to the ECML after Musselburgh
Is this the Edinburgh Glasgow route
In real life, Its the Aberdeen to Penzance train.
A. This goes from Dundee
B. This is the scottish ecml from just trains
When are you doing the class 66
Awesome and can u tell me where u spot the train in England
lee the terminator The East Coast Main Line north of York, most of the West Coast Main Line, and across the Cross Country network to the Great Western Main Line. You can see it in quite a few locations :)
Thx BTW I been on one at nuneaton which had 4 coaches
Cool could you do it both ways?
legolover 456 I will be covering this journey in the opposite direction in the future :)
i am a long sub of you.. i would like to ask you is how long does it take for you to memorise a route??
batman Good question, I can learn routes pretty quickly as long as I practice a lot in a short space of time :)
batman I've just added this question to the list for the Q&A video which I am planning to make this week :)
Any chance of doing the Fife Circle Line, if you haven't already?
I don't think I'm presently able to do that as the full route hasn't been modelled.
can you get the station (dunfermlne town) un this game ?
awesome video great train is it the just trains one ? if so were do you get scenarios for it ?
Chicken Gamer yes it is the Just Trains Voyager. I created this scenario myself :)
Oh okay cool video
Can u create some scenarios and put them on steam ?
Chicken Gamer I have already uploaded a few scenarios to Steam which you can find in the workshop under PTGRail.
Okay cool !
Can you do London to Edinburgh
Class 90 hst
I imagine that is probably too long for him to learn it all and too long for a developer to map it all
I Suppose So Edinburgh to Glasgow Central
Class 156 Scotrail
Via SHOTTS
Calling Haymarket,Slatford,
So Basikly Go Down that Line
Michael Hope The latest version of Trainz has that route in full. It is set in 1976 with HST 125's. Looks good with the new graphics engine but i am not sure if such a long route can be mapped in TS2015.
+Wilkie, Buchan Channel 2811 2 things no such thing as 90 HST and no such thing as London/Edinburgh in Train simulator.
Pls do a video from Inverness to Aberdeen pls🚊🚊🚊🚋🚋🚋
legolover 456 Unfortunately that route isn't yet modelled in Train Simulator, otherwise I would.
Is this the Armstrong Powerhouse 221?
DaROBLOXChannel This is the JT Class 221 with the AP sound pack installed :)
What type of computer do you use for this??
what is a class 170
if you were going to Edinburgh how come the destination board was set to penzance but good video and csnt wait to see another video on the WCML
+sam maclennan Because thats where the train would carry on to..
Wow good videos keep up good work and also check this game out it’s called Omsi 2
What pc and graphics set up have you got?
Reuben Lee
AMD Phenom II X6 1090t 3.2ghz processor
8gb DDR3 RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6970 2gb graphics card :)
What do you use to record your videos?
Fringe Stalin I'm currently using Bandicam as it's less taxing than FRAPS :)
Hi I live in dundee
Can you do London to Norwich
legolover 456 Unfortunately not. The furthest I can go on that line currently is Ipswich.
Edinburgh to Newcastle
P.S I don't want to pester you I just want you to do a route suggested by me
legolover 456 I'm planning on doing Newcastle to Edinburgh soon if that counts? :)
Do you stream on twitch if so what's your twitch name
adam tideswell I don't at present but I do plan to do so in the future. My Twitch name is PTGRail :)
markinsch
+BurrLD I know that now :)
ok :D
the longest british route is cardif to paddington.
Cool rail what is your real name ask
mariam akinpelu My name is Pete :)
I wish they would get rid of that god awful sound whek going on viaducts or bridges. The rest of it sounds fairly realistic ngl
