"after everything we've bin through... past all the fire and fury, the one thing i know is that we can count on eachother to get the job done...or die trying if that's what it takes" man epicness right there it's inspiring
I'm a proud owner of the collector's edition and the dogtag is fucking awesome. Also, I love it how we have short character numbers. Mine's 334 for an example.
@ShabamWins It's Michel Koiter. He was a Blizzard artist who designed a lot of World of Warcraft with his twin brother. He died of heart failure when he was 19. You'll find a shrine to him in WoW in the Barrens. No reason was ever found for the heart failure. His twin brother underwent a series of tests himself, but nothing was noted as being wrong with him either. The two brothers were both artists for Blizzard who went by "Twincruiser."
Yes. There's a monument to him in the Barrens. It's on a hill near the Crossroads (IIRC) and called the Shrine of the Fallen Warrior. There is a resurrection angel there named Koiter.
Aaaand, this is why terrans are my fav. Despite their infighting they always stand together when push comes to shove and win the most dire of situations with their technological prowess and their raw determination, as brothers. Be it kicking Protoss ass when they try to burn a colony or holding out against the zergs never ending numbers for days. In the end, humanity stands strong.
@zakakay M. Koiter is Michel Koiter, an employee of Blizzard. He died of sudden heart failure in 2004. He was only 19 at the time. The dog-tags and a shrine in World of Warcraft are Blizzard's way of remembering him.
Cold fusion is a real life thing, though generally considered a pathological science at best. There are no models that predict that cold fusion can really happen. Cold fusion is said to create energy directly through electrolysis instead of indirectly heating water in cooling tanks. Basically, the electrons are moved from a negative cathode, to a positive anode.
@OperationFlik Here's something to add to it... Apparently, from what I've heard, M. Koiter is the name of an employee at Blizzard who died at (I think) about 19 from heart failure.
@suemorphplus2009: Actually General Warfield told the medics to just cut it off so he can get back to the fighting quicker. Also the acid/poison of the Hydralisk was destroying the muscles of his arm probably since they are design to do damage internally. By lore and game wise no Terran was infested by a Hydralisk spine before. Killed yes but never infested the infestors or some other method was always used.
General: "I got a gift for you boys" (pulls out high tech cooler) Tychus: "Thank god for cold fusion!" General: "Ummm no its an alien artifact" Tychus: " Hell I'll bet my ass on some booze, but an alien piece oh crap?...That don't sit right wit me"
If you played the original StarCraft there was a cinematic where some marines blow up a science vessle in orbit. Go watch that and understand why cold fusion is awesome.
Look at it this way- the Sun is the root source of ALL energy on earth- humans, oil, everything. She releases energy through "hot" fusion. If you could do "cold" fusion, you could essentially carry little suns around with you wherever you go.
love this cutscene. but when all the marines started looking up towards the sky i totally expected a shitload of battlecruisers, vikings, and banshees to just start descending.
@SilverStateMan if you stop the video at 3:01 it calculates 24 cartridges as %2, and 38 to %3.. it rounds the numbers, thus its not precise and there are only 1thousand cartridges
@turtelman1234 Actually by Starcraft lore Vespene Gas has y hydrogen(hydrogen is a key component of water) impurity , and since they we're breathing oxygen on Char , Along with the high temperatures , all that hydrogen from the vespene geysers and oyxgen must've condensed in one really epic raincloud ;D
@peter0the0king381 i know right? the part where the other marines are looking in raynor's direction when he starts his speech.. faceless brothers but brothers all the same.
@GeneralWildDog No, you start by saying that Terrans, you think, can make things like that BFG-9000, but then state their tech level is pretty bad. Seems like a contradiction.
I know, but it's kinda weird - wearing armor suit that allows me to lift such big guns and kill Hydras with single punch, but is unable to stop even ordinary rifle round...it's something like APU's in Matrix: Revolutions - badass dual autocannons, but pilot was totally uncovered.
@Russo016 do you know how much water is needed on a planet (a volcanic, rocky one by the way) to sustain something as simple as rain? I don't need to "watch wikipedia", perhaps you need to.
Um im quite up to date on the story of Starcraft but i dont know who M.Koiter is, is he important or just another marine ment to resemble the lives lost. Also what do you guys think of the fact that Duran the guy from SC1 might be the Doctor who works for mobieus as his name is Narud, which is Duran backwards, is there something to that, if so who does he work for, Xel Naga!?!?!?!
@buddieclub1 As I said O- is the "universal donor" for human blood and conveniently he's a marine for Raynor's Raiders so whether or not M Koiter really had O- blood, I dunno, but hey come on, why can't I look more in-depth eh?
Man if we would have more real men like Jim Raynor the world would be a much much better place :| :( he is very good man very heroic true leader and hero is that kind man i would follow even in death even in hell
Yea I knew it was real system, I just didn't understand how it produced electricity. While on the subject wouldn't the system you described be more hazardous than a steam pressure system, be harder to seal and creating equal to or greater than amounts of radiation.
@nexus1g In Earth 2160 humankind had mastered modular cold-fusion generator in middle 22nd century, as well as advanced energy weaponry and bio-engineer.
I have been wondering about where Warfield's loyalty lies after WOL. Will he join the raiders and rebel against Mengsk or return to the Dominion and fight Raynor? Both options seem weird to me.
What is the big deal about cold fusion? electricity is generated by steam created by heating water via the heat given off of regular fission/fusion. So cold fusion just sounds fancy with no applicable purpose, or is this one of those "you gotta know the lore" kind of things?
Oooo...now I get it with M Koiter the dead guy. His blood type is O- the universal Donor for human blood and he gave his life fighting for what he believed in...coincidence or not?
"after everything we've bin through... past all the fire and fury, the one thing i know is that we can count on eachother to get the job done...or die trying if that's what it takes"
man epicness right there
it's inspiring
I'm a proud owner of the collector's edition and the dogtag is fucking awesome.
Also, I love it how we have short character numbers.
Mine's 334 for an example.
may he rest in peace
this cutscene is so awesome i cried.. :P
"because some things are just worth fighting for..."
epic line right there
@ShabamWins It's Michel Koiter. He was a Blizzard artist who designed a lot of World of Warcraft with his twin brother. He died of heart failure when he was 19. Yes. There's a monument to him in the Barrens. It's on a hill near the Crossroads (IIRC) and called the Shrine of the Fallen Warrior. There is a resurrection angel there named Koiter.
The most touching and epic tribute to ever be made by blizzard.
I like how they put one of the developers from when WoW was still being created. It's nice they put M Koiter back into it. :3
raynor has clearly taken lessons from sgt. johnson on making motivational speeches. "wipes tear from eye"
So dramatic (sniffle).
Blizz always makes the best and most engaging cinematics.
Go blizz, keep up the good work.
Aged like milk :(
Oh thats right. You just reminded me. Doesn't he have a monument in WoW?
One of the best cutscenes ever made from Blizzard.
I love the music in this cutscene!!
Great quality vid nexus ;-)
Aaaand, this is why terrans are my fav. Be it kicking Protoss ass when they try to burn a colony or holding out against the zergs never ending numbers for days. In the end, humanity stands strong.
The most epic "in memory of" thing I can think of.
@zakakay M. Koiter is Michel Koiter, an employee of Blizzard. He died of sudden heart failure in 2004. He was only 19 at the time. The dog-tags and a shrine in World of Warcraft are Blizzard's way of remembering him.
Space Jesus is met by Grandpa Megaman and then gives the Space Marines an epic speech.
Man man man, what an awesome scene
@glich75 that person was a young worker from blizzard who died from heart failure. They put his name there as a memorial.
When Jim Raynor speaks, it rains...ON A VOLCANIC PLANET...
In honor of M. Koiter, one of Blizzards greatest artist.
1:40 With subtitles "Good to see on your feet Jenny."
That was epic speech and scene
m koiter was a blizzard designer that died during SC2 making. the guys at blizzard made a tribute for him.
"Die trying."
Considering that most of the guys were "red shirts", I'm pretty sure that's what's going to happen.
you gota love the accidental motivational speech
Because one thing I now, is that somethings, are youst worth fighting for.......
Love this quote...:)
@Russo016 that was a mature response. It conveyed a lot of useful and constructive information.
@ShabamWins
M. Koiter is an employee at Blizzard who died at 19 from heart failure.
The Universe has respect for one such as he,
@a11b22c33d4 "Micheal Koiter was a Blizzard artist who died in 2004 from heart failure. He was 19."
@OperationFlik Here's something to add to it... Apparently, from what I've heard, M. Koiter is the name of an employee at Blizzard who died at (I think) about 19 from heart failure.
Epicness at it Best
@suemorphplus2009: Actually General Warfield told the medics to just cut it off so he can get back to the fighting quicker. 100% rendered in real time using the in game engine. Wouldn't be surprised if the model for Raynor there actually had a hidden health bar.
General: "I got a gift for you boys" (pulls out high tech cooler)
Tychus: "Thank god for cold fusion!"
General: "Ummm no its an alien artifact"
Tychus: " Hell I'll bet my ass on some booze, but an alien piece oh crap?...That don't sit right wit me"
@nexus1g thats awesome, as commemoration they did this cutscene for him =D
My finest hour is upon me!
sure its weird that make it so fantastic, classic :)
Sun is rising!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blizzard is fantastic. Michael Koiter may be dead but his spirit remains alive thanks to these sort of things.
I guess it's something of a gift.
If you played the original StarCraft there was a cinematic where some marines blow up a science vessle in orbit. Go watch that and understand why cold fusion is awesome.
Epic speech is epic
Song rules. Blizzard has some real talent.
weird how it was raining on char a completely volcanic planet
music is genius
Look at it this way- the Sun is the root source of ALL energy on earth- humans, oil, everything. She releases energy through "hot" fusion. If you could do "cold" fusion, you could essentially carry little suns around with you wherever you go.

@TheFreedomDragon That's Matt Horner, not M. Koiter.
anyone else notice raynor's speech is like connor's in terminator 4?
this is jimmy! :)
i hope we see more of General Warfield
@Punisher4bmw
That quote was first said/wroten by Sun Tzu.
@Roo520 The red marines = Dominion Marines
Blue marine = Raynor's Raiders.
I wish Warfield was a playable unit so I could see wat that new arm of his can do
@RoachTheIPark if your referring to the captain of Hyperion, he should still be kickin, he wouldn't' leave his ship unless especially ordered to
EPIC!
Theese boyz are heroes
@nexus1g That he is...there is a memorial to him the World of Warcraft in the barrens.
@GeneralWildDog Psh! That cannon IS A BFG-9000.
@peter0the0king381 i know right? the part where the other marines are looking in raynor's direction when he starts his speech.. faceless brothers but brothers all the same.
@Piedude73 your right, that's what i was explaining
@nexus1g oh you mean where that spirit healer is on that hill? always wondered what that was for
Raynor for presedent?
HELL YEAH!
Nice!!!
@1PlayerD Hell yeah.
@GeneralWildDog What would you rather have, a boring reconstructed arm or a huge ass transforming hand/cannon?
@quizzisation
he went back to Cybertron to get replacement parts for his transforming arm/cannon
Ammunition:
V238 Gauss DUSR Linked with C-14 impaler links
M.Koiter is a guy who died that worked for blizzard
Raynor: F you red guys there's a blue over there.
@GeneralWildDog I don't know, given that they've mastered cold fusion, I'd say they're pretty far ahead.
@Russo016 do you know how much water is needed on a planet (a volcanic, rocky one by the way) to sustain something as simple as rain? I don't need to "watch wikipedia", perhaps you need to.
@Punisher4bmw i hope they put him in one of the books!
nice tribute to someone who dies far too early
Raynor for president!!!
@ShadowXII
nah it only holds 1000 rounds, the percentage is not precise.
I Am working on hard mode now and I am NOT looking forwards to facing those air waves. but i'm leaning towards it.
@kvzn94 well, i guess even on a volcanic planet it has to rain sometimes, just like after volcanic eruptions
want to live ins dis world
Um im quite up to date on the story of Starcraft but i dont know who M.Koiter is, is he important or just another marine ment to resemble the lives lost. Also what do you guys think of the fact that Duran the guy from SC1 might be the Doctor who works for mobieus as his name is Narud, which is Duran backwards, is there something to that, if so who does he work for, Xel Naga!?!?!?!
i like to play "all in" mission... its a true challenge
@buddieclub1 As I said O- is the "universal donor" for human blood and conveniently he's a marine for Raynor's Raiders so whether or not M Koiter really had O- blood, I dunno, but hey come on, why can't I look more in-depth eh?

Did Mengsk do something to the transmission to make Raynor sound like him?
@Unit88888888 dude. Char is a planet covered in sulfur and lava. There is no water cycle on that planet, because there's no fucking water.
It must be a dangerous job.
@atechpriest No, sorry. It costs $37. It is a lifetime purchase though. All future updates are free.
Why do all superior alien technologies always contain diabolic blue light in them?
Oooo...now I get it with M Koiter the dead guy. His blood type is O- the universal Donor for human blood and he gave his life fighting for what he believed in...coincidence or not?
