"I'm not really doin it to make a ton of money, I'm doing it cause I enjoy the journey. You're out there doing the best you can and keep people up and running." This is why we watch. We like the rough/ blunt exterior of a guy that seems to mostly help out the elderly so another crook doesn't go in there to take what little money they need to eat. To a long and honest carrer Steve; cheers and never change.
Thanks for video Steven. Had a guy come to work today to give me estimate to replace a rooftop commercial unit. He watches you so we started having a good laugh with some of your sayings and some of the customers you've had.
Great job as usual Steve,it's nice seeing someone care about their work. There are so many hacks out there today,a homeowner never knows who they can trust.
Good job Steve, that change out looks real nice! I like seeing those change outs too, regular service calls get's kinda boring. So a change is nice to see.
The Master right hear boy's!! Awesome job Steve and great advice on the stress of life, love it thanks!!!
Wow. You are really honest and passionate about your trade. Very few folks like you around anymore. Awesome work :)
We enjoy travelling along with you too Steve. Thanks for the videos.
Cased coil for the win! Nice work Steve you help people out and don't apply pressured sales tactics
Just replaced a Trane A/C. Installed in 1991. Only repair was a new fan motor 5 years ago.
Same here. We have an Amana 4T condenser built from 1991, all original, even the capacitor ! The Emerson motor bearings were slowly drying out. The fan was not coasting to a stop freely that I noticed months back so I kept an eye on it. Sourced a Nidec US Motors Mojave (ball bearings) motor and replaced it just a month ago. The Emerson motor had "oil ports" for both sides...filled it with the recommended oil and she's now a back up motor...spins freely as ever. Measured the existing capacitor and the numbers are still 40/7.5 according to the meter ! I replaced it anyway and its now a spare with the old motor in the event there is a need in the future. Used an Amrad made in USA so I hope that goes for awhile longer than the $10 caps.
Lol these new titles are hilarious, Ted with antidyihvac would love this
ted loves goodman units
@@stevenlavimoniere there’s only a little sarcasm in that lol. I personally don’t mind Goodman, and they are made here in texas. My carrier system is now 4 years old so far so good.
@@w.miller7282 I'm convinced Goodman's reputation is due to the hacked installs the low ballers, or the contractors working for large developers, usually do. Around here you'd be hard pressed to find a new development, condo, or apartment building that wasn't full of poorly installed Goodman equipment. There's a condo complex up the road from me, and just from the photos when one goes up for sale you can tell how horribly they were installed. I'm sure it's 10x worse when you look at it up close!
@@stevenlavimoniereLOL He will disagree and I don't see any reason for that when you figure in the "value" they provide vs. the expensive Trane brand. Not to mention, those spine fined coils do not impress in the long run.
What’s your honest opinion on RUDD units?
Enjoy the journey! Excellent thought for the day. Thanks, Steve!
That was a great Video from start to finish, I wonder about the pros and cons of brazing the Copper lines Vs Soldering. Solder makes a much prettier joint and without all that heat. I'm convinced higher temperatures must change the Copper somehow and make it weaker. You do beautiful Solder work! It has to be learned.🙂
staybrite 8 is a high silver soilder its good for 3000 lbs stronger then brazing and less heat , and does not oxidize the inside of pipe ,so no nitrogen is needed when soldering .for me its just easyer to do it this way
@@stevenlavimoniere I admire your Soldering, especially on Copper Piping. You have a rare talent for Beautiful Solder Joints!
Agreed "Keep life simple" Great quote Steve!! Nice work..
How about a"good enough for this neighborhood" t shirt
Trane derailed due to going to fast on a restricting signal.
Watching you is as pleasurable as watching my AC guy!! He appreciates not dealing with a dumbass when it comes to this stuff. Plus, when it hits a wall, I call and he's there within a couple hours. About an hour later - back on line.
Do this every single day, we install exclusively rheem, good products while those 28” are fun the 34-1/2 are even more fun ha! can I ask why you chose to solider it and not braze in? You aren’t concerned about the higher pressure of 410?
I braze everytime... i have never in my life used stay brite 8 but you can use it and the tensile strength is there... id still flow a little nitro just in case but its alright to use staybrite that is what it is made for but it dont close gaps well and i dont ever want to use flux unless you need to for bonding different metals...
They sure stopped that Trane Momma hopefully ANTIDIY guy sees this one!
Steve nice tie in with that new coil. Another professional job well done!
I love doing the HVAC work . And I don’t up sale either I try to repair and I do honest work . Not out to get to the customers .
I had guy call me Tuesday this week a local company had charged him $700.00 to wash condenser coil only . Told him it was fixed and would be cooled down after several hours. This job was done midday on Monday and at 8:00 pm Monday night it was 91 inside the house . He called me Tuesday to ask me if he got took . Told him he sure did and I would come look at it for him . He said he was gone call other back and see if they would warrant their work since it didn’t fix the issue .
Same here bro I really do it because I want ppl to know how reliable I am and the money comes second… I get more of a joy from the customer satisfaction 😊
Sorry to have to unsubscribe due to youtube's draconian no-adblocker stance. Sorry to see you go.
Steve nice job turning lemons into lemon aid. Solid install.
Just another kick ass video Steve, great job! Keep the awesome video's coming 👍☝️💥🫵
Great work Steve
yeah that came out good.. its always something matching the new evaporator to the heater but it fit in well. Its a little bit of effort for sure. And it didn't rain so whats to complain about heh. :o)
At least Steve knows that he has to slide the coil in since he repeated himself a few times. It works for me. I'd say it once and then a few minutes later wonder "what am I doing in this old basement"? 😂
I gotta tape it and screw it in real well 😉
I think micron gauge should be far away from vacuum pump
Enjoy the Journey.
All the Trane fan boys aren’t happy about this one. The Goodman hat makes it even better.
Nice professional install, Steve.
Really nice sweating-in on the copper buddy!
Very nice workmanship!
Master level soldering! Just enough, not too much. 10/10
Mine, always too much. Me, an amateur.
I started watching a few years ago and watched his round table on boilers to help me with our solar thermal and just kept watching.
New unit is not very noisy/rattly. Nice and quiet. Maybe get an electric winch for the truck. Make it removable.
maybe mastic on all those plenum joints? tape comes loose over time....
Hey Steve, what is the advantage to the STAY BRITE 8 as opposed to the braizing rods?
less heat ,,no dry nitrogen purge needed . easyer to use , faster , and stronger
I always mastic those tape seams. even the UL tape comes loose with Heat and cold.
Great job Steve! Nice clean install. Why anyone would put a junk Trane system on top of a nice Ruud furnace is beyond me.
I can’t stand trane I think they’re over priced over engineered garbage. Expensive to buy and terrible to service
Old subscriber ova here. Thanks stevovo
First off Steve, KUDOS on your soldering . It would be interesting to see what you could do with fine electronic soldering. My question is: Are all refrigerants dangerous in that they can produce a toxic (Fozgene) gas?
The ones that have chlorine in them can produce phosgene. It can also produce hydrogen chloride and hydrogen fluoride too.
The roads seem to be very poor, very rough.
Excellent work Steve 👍
Much respect steve amazing job !!!!!!😊😊
Great video Steven. Thank you. 👍 👍 👍
Great video. Thanks for sharing your install
These titles just keep getting better
Just a question why did you solder instead of brazing on a 410 unit
staybrite 8 is a high silver soilder its good for 3000 lbs stronger then brazing and less heat , and does not oxidize the inside of pipe ,so no nitrogen is needed when soldering .for me its just easyer to do it this way .
One day and already got a thousand likes 👍.
nice use on the swag tool good soldering wicked a coil change out
No nitrogen while brazing???
Unit need to get screwed down to substrate
Good to see your tax dollars going to the roads.
Very clean installation
WHY CAN'T YOU FIX THE OLD ONE?
You need to show pump down sometime momma 😮
So on a relatively new TRANE system seems it would be advisable to put some Freon and Dye in the system and try to find the leak rather than replace the whole system.
See ...she's sweating - That's what we like !
Why did you install a Rudd and not a Goodman? Nothing stops a Goodman. Put a new capacitor in mine puppy is like brand new
got 30 years off my 1.5 ton trane. with a hard start kit it would still be going but with the gas situation i opted for a new carrier. its a lot quieter. and from what i hear tossed out for prices i did better in the midwest than down east. that was 3 years ago.
Does anyone know how the uninsulated ducts not condense during AC use?
What awesome job
Why does a new system need a new line set? I see it all the time and curious!
you dont always need a new lineset, if its easy enough to change its best to just run new one, but some of them are in tight spaces or sometimes in the wall, in that case you can flush them with r11and it cleans the inside of the pipes.
@@justinrichard4190 Great to know. Thanks!
Because the old line set was for R-22 and this is R-410A
@@chuckquinn8026 So why does that matter? Diameter of the lines?
@peterfaggella3120 r410 and r22 are 2 different types of refrigerants with 2 different types of oil, neither mix well. Using existing r22 lineset for a new r410 system would cause problems with oil and refrigerant residue mixing
Excellent Work Steve!!
Instead of tape, which looks like crap use some duct sealer with some painters tape to make some nice straight lines
Its a Trane... hard to start one😅
Also not for nothin in it a know it all but we have had quite a bit of call backs for the plugs seeping after a little while, so we been dabbing a little dope on em, have you not seen this issue with them?
nice. i will never understand why so many people do the insulation at the condenser like that. cut it down the middle and wrap electrical tape all over it. solder every joint but the last one and then slide the insulation on and hold it back. then solder the last joint and release the insulation. looks like a professional did it. be a little better than the next dumb dumb
She's a leaker in a good way
New cased evaporator coil would be a professional installation!
Your definitely one of the best hvac and heating guys I’ve ever seen
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again y’all. 👍👍. Great job Steve!
Nice install and good camera work!
Are you not going to pookie over the tape? Is that only done in hot climate states?
When’s the next cooking with ms molly video?
Nice Work.
Just wondering Steve f do I’d you hire a editor to do your video titles?? Noticed there a lot different than usual and I like it by the way keep it up👍
They are dramatic for sure. Hope they get him more views or subscribers
He's working with Scotty Kilmer
@@lambrinos Is Scotty still on Earth?
@@Parkhill57not if you read and believe HIS titles. They are all “I’m finally done” or “Saying good bye”
Nice work
why is it always grey where you live steve. seems like a old town
Old town in New England - the common theme tends to be greys and off-white for trim (or darker blues, darker greens, etc.) - just how they do it up there (or "up they-ya down east..."). I spent a lot of time dipping shingles (pine) when we reshingled the house and the color was grey, Grey, Grey...
It’s New England. All of the East Coast, especially from Virginia all the way up to New England is more traditional in looks. And they have four distinct seasons. But up around Boston, it is the oldest part of the country, dating back to the Mayflower days. Some houses are 300 years old, made of stone.
Nice system Steve.
Great work Steven.
The lesson here is "Don't be a dum dum". 😅
Did the last guy use Dynamite to blow a hole in that foundation wall?
Should you always replace copper lines with brand new ones ? Could be a royal pain to get those fished through on a 2 story house up to the attic where the air handler sits
It's not required but a good practice. Old lines can be flushed
Nice clean job.
Ill take that old Trane unit along with the indoor coil.
Great install, great little 9/10k day! Nothing wrong with that momma!
Damn 9-10k for a 13 seer? We get 6-8k depending and most time make custom metal, condensate pump ez trap ect…
How much for the replacement?
My man cut the lineset out with a cutoff wheel lmao
Steve is this unit pre charged???
"Helping people out." Way to go Steve!!!!
I will agree with you Steve I really just like service calls but if someone needs a new system put in I've got to make money or I just won't do it when it's just one man doing everything people don't understand
New system don’t see these to often lucky customer
I like the play on words. Trane Derailed 😅
That's a nice job for a one man show.
Great job Steve
Howdy Steve and Molly
