It's actually better for one person to do the whole job, it's usually done better when it's someone like Steve does this kind of work as it's one guys reputation and business.
43:33 that ant said “I’m getting the hell out of here!” Watched this one when you first posted it and came back to it again today. You’re a one man army. Very talented, and great work. Wish there was someone like you in my area. Thanks for the video.
Install was hard enough, but filming it all was over the top! Looks really good. The customer should be very happy. Now to find where the birds are getting in.
Great video. My air handler was designed at my request for a 5” thick MERV 16 filter. My particle counter is always near zero and my wife has no allergies in the house anymore. I also added a ventilating dehumidifier. I couldn’t sleep in the new house. It was well enough sealed that it needed ventilation air. Now I sleep soundly and dream again. Our VOC’s and C02 were too high and needed fresh air.
Steve that pig tail on the leaky valve is a great idea. I got one in the garage for a ice maker I don't use dripping and it'll be a lot easier to pig tail it. Very professional job!
You take some pride in your work. Makes a change from what i used to see in duct work from day to say. That cross bracing is excellent, the amount of times I see just a flat bit f metal shoved in and taped up!! How are the birds getting in? It must be a simple thing? Anyway. I thought you might have let us see the finished work! Anyway, nice job.
great quality install! i just started working in the field myself a few months ago. this has been a passion of mine since early childhood. any tips or advice for the future?
I used Filtrete MERV 11 filters for years and didn't have any issues, no pressure drop whatsoever...living in the Deep South, I did change them every 30 days especially during the summer months...we bought a new home with a 5 ton Trane variable fan speed HVAC system. It uses dual AprilAire 16x25x4 "accordian" type filters...the manufacturer claims they can last 6-12 months...after about 90 days, they need changing..at $105 for the pair, they're not cheap but neither is a $25,000 heating and cooling system.
I think I personally would have left the plenum squared without cutting the notch out of it and then just do a simple 4 piece that would have made up the angled transition. That’s just me 👍🏻 good work Steve
I love to watch you work. Install is a form of art! Question: why all the s-lock? I used to install in my earlier years. For ductwork situations like this, I'd mark my metal the full length of the side then add an inch on the right side. Bend that side in then screw it into the next side piece... each side lapping over onto the next. Made easy work of it and smooth taping. Very sturdy without fighting with the s-lock. Just curious. Watching your videos makes me want to work again!
Hey Steve, have you ever see the guy on UA-cam DIY telling people they can install the own air conditioner? i’ve been doing this for 32 years I only have one customer try and failed miserably. it cost him twice as much for me to fix his screwup LOL. Good job Steve as always 👌
I installed an entire system, ducting/gas lines/furnace and condenser in a gut remodel. Pulled all permits with the state and passed with flying colors in 2020. DIY all the way. As an HVAC tech, you really would not see the homeowner success stories since they would not be calling you. 😉😉
Between Steve’s videos and AC Service Tech’s (and others), I’ve installed three systems and one mini split myself. Ie saved thousands AND I got to satisfy my tool fetish.
Good job on the tin work. Most HVAC "installers" wouldnt bother because they dont know how, dont care, or just want fast money. Sad really. Also just a tip but when checking for leaks use the solid stream on the bottle instead of the spray. That way you arent making your own bubbles when you spray.
Ever consider getting into central vacuum systems? I see this house has one.. how common are they in your area? I'm in that racket, and the money is good when I'm busy
Steve - I was wondering about the gas valve - - if it's a ball type, it sort of looks like in the video (could be the camera angle) that it's turned beyond full open. Thanks for posting this, especially loved all the tips on the sheet metal work, so appreciate you sharing (as all of your vids) your years of expertise and professionalism. btw, even though I've got the 12" model snippers, I ordered the 14 like the one's you're using, thanks for that tip.
Way to go Steve! You do great work. I sure wish I could find an employee like you to work for me in the pool equipment repair/install business. It's hard finding people with a solid skill level. Hope all is well up in MA. It's hotter than hell down here in Central Florida. Lol 🥵
its staybrite 8 high silver content solder 3,000 lbs strength, its stronger then brazing . and dont need nitrogen purge . and less heat .....look it up .
Job well done only thing I don’t like is union outside of cabinet it says in manual outside of cabinet even tho you bubble check it if something god forbid could leak down road
looks at the back of the drill after using it as a hammer and says time for a new drill . thats working man stuff there 🤣.. i have folks at work ask me why i only have 3 hammers , i say everything is a hammer depending on what time of the day it is . good stuff as always
I think the A/C condenser was the worst for the wear of it all. You didn't lie to the guy, so he knew it wasn't desperately needing replacement or anything, but I don't blame him for deciding to just replace the old thing before anything went bad.
I use to run across crappy plenum connections all of the time. My neighbor had a new coil installed and the installer taped over a wide gap and the tape let go so conditioned air was flowing into her attic. There are a lot of jacklegs in the HVAC business.
I like the Rheem equipment that Steve installs. I was going to install Rheem at my house but I couldn’t find a Rheem 5 ton 21” coil to fit in my utility closet. I installed Goodman instead and I have been happy with the performance and lower electric bills.
Nice sheet metal work! Wish you would be closer to my location in Connecticut. I need someone trust worthy and professional. I need new AC and oil boiler. 2 separate systems. I would put you up in my house or hotel, miss moĺly also
Amazing skill level to install an entire HVAC system alone 👏. Homeowner: Where's your crew? Steve: I am the crew.👍
i am a one man show ..
It's actually better for one person to do the whole job, it's usually done better when it's someone like Steve does this kind of work as it's one guys reputation and business.
Bet wouldn't do an attic change out by yourself in a 150 degree attic

Can't blame the guy for wanting it replaced, but it shows your integrity that you advised him to let it ride and not spend the money.
The professor at work. Steve your truly the best.
Thanks for taking the time to show how you do metalwork. I took a crack at doing my own after watching your work.
Steve, You are a beast, doing it all solo and leaving nothing out. another fine job resizing the supply air plenum to boot.
Great video. My air handler was designed at my request for a 5” thick MERV 16 filter. My particle counter is always near zero and my wife has no allergies in the house anymore. That's different than a random idiot putting in a 1" thick nerve 13+... if it's designed in, it'll work mint. If not... Juuuunk
Brilliant work Steve a pro with everything you do
Everything looks so clean and organized..you can tell a professional did this install...awesome job..
Nothing but quality! Actual quality. =)
Steve that pig tail on the leaky valve is a great idea. I got one in the garage for a ice maker I don't use dripping and it'll be a lot easier to pig tail it. Very professional job!
yes seems to work well
Amazing work. I'm getting my Gas Furnace and AC installed tomorrow. I'm glad I got to watch this video.
Oh lawd another informed homeowner. 😂😂
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again y’all. 👍👍
Transition was a masterpiece!
Nice to see someone that knows about staybrite and uses it
Beautiful installation mama!! Looks really good mama!
Steve’s a one man army! 👍👍
Wow! The way that plenum was taped on top of the furnace was ridiculous LOL Steve will make it all look proper!
Steve I have watched you do this job on a number of your videos! I think the this one you earned every dollar!
Great Sheet Metal and Beautiful Solder Jobs!😊
Steve, for a one horse band, you work like a 20 mule team! Beautiful work!
Love the cross brake folding tool. I have never seen that before.

Dont underestimate Mr Steve. Professional install right there.
Nice job Steve
Love your sheet metal work/no cardboard duct work/good old USA workmanship!
Dont know how he does all this alone. All I did was read the title and I need a nap now
Bravo Steve, job well done.
Teaching mode. Very good. I learned some new things today
Always good to have a properly installed new system. Thanks. I'd take that old furnace for my garage.
I love your channel so much and I've been watching since may 2022 great videos and nice furnace!👍
I really like this, shows your skill, with out the side talking, I don’t mind the side talking but this may boost your veneers.👍
Great job Steve.
Great job Steven, That is one nice looking install.

Very Nice Work putting that duct work together Steve, be a trade lost when you leave this world.
I had to make popcorn Steve, but well worth watching the video! All that install on your own, you are the man Steve! 🥳😎💯💥👌👍☝️🫵🦾

Excellent video Steve 👍 👍 👍

👍🏻 good work Steve
Hi Steven!
Steve doin' a two dayer, you don't see that to often! 😉 Great job Steve!
Nice work, it takes some insight to get it done and done well

i feel s lock is the proper way to do the job , so thats how i fly ,do what ever floats your boat.

A lot of techs won’t check those cap tubes on new installs. Seen and repaired wear spots on them. Good call
Clean install Steve!
Love me some sheet metal work! Nice job.
Steve, everything's a hammer momma! Used to do this in the 90's, nice work when ya can't get a transition fitting made quick.
like red green would say "any tool can be the right tool"
Big howdy Steve and Molly
Good job
Did you pull a vacuum with the schrader cores in?
Very nice work!
Hello Steve !
Impressive video i have seen nothing like. Is this an all Rudd system?
yes all rudd
Cross brake looks good also
Good video 👍
What was the brand of the unit ?
Great Video Steve. You are a pro.
i installed a ruud system
wow nice job
Ever consider getting into central vacuum systems? I see this house has one.. how common are they in your area? I'm in that racket, and the money is good when I'm busy
Nice job, couple questions. Did you insulate the short duct you showed? Also anything extra to prevent those birds getting in?

2:15 WHAT CAMERA ARE YOU USING STEVE
What's the name of the ruler that you used to make the cross brace? That is cool!
ua-cam.com/video/0uiesLymPp0/v-deo.html
hand brake
@@stevenlavimoniere thank you! Definitely gonna get one.
Steve, have you had any problems using the sta Brite 8 instead of brazing?
none , way better
What brand of 2 sided wall furnace would you reccomend? Parents installed 2 side wall furnace in the late '60's or early '70's.
Steve do you think 90+ boilers are over rated??? Had to replace mine last year and went with a Utica 80+ same as the one that was there since 1971.
i think your better of with the 80+
Nice vid steve 😊
The back of the drill makes a good hammer. Next level mama!
Outstanding job Steve. Have a great week. 👍
MAJOR project
Where do you live? Love the country roads!
Way to go Steve! You do great work. I sure wish I could find an employee like you to work for me in the pool equipment repair/install business. It's hard finding people with a solid skill level. Hope all is well up in MA. It's hotter than hell down here in Central Florida. Lol 🥵
Where do you get your S locks for your sheet metal?
Were you using water grade solder on the refrigeration lines? Not using silfos?
its staybrite 8 high silver content solder 3,000 lbs strength, its stronger then brazing . and dont need nitrogen purge . and less heat .....look it up .
Thanks Steve, I will..@@stevenlavimoniere
Birds...vent on the roof has no cover...maybe...awesome..work..truck is looking good...
Job well done only thing I don’t like is union outside of cabinet it says in manual outside of cabinet even tho you bubble check it if something god forbid could leak down road
man that was a big job
Do you know what size house this was to get a 3 ton condenser?
27:44 whole new meaning to a hammer drill .
looks at the back of the drill after using it as a hammer and says time for a new drill . thats working man stuff there 🤣.. i have folks at work ask me why i only have 3 hammers , i say everything is a hammer depending on what time of the day it is .
good stuff as always

junk its a york / nordine dont do it

nothing beats a gas setup and central ac...once you go gas you dont go backkkkkk haha..
Amen. Switched from fuel oil to natural gas several years ago. Cleaner, quieter, and much cheaper. Smartest decision I ever made.
That’s uh job and a half momma, great job.
Nice sheet metal work! Wish you would be closer to my location in Connecticut. I need someone trust worthy and professional. I need new AC and oil boiler. 2 separate systems. I would put you up in my house or hotel, miss moĺly also
Here ib Ct we have to braze all refrigerant lines,,,,,,that's the code
Time for a new drill mama ! 😂 give them the how you doing.
