Agreed. Luni is amazing at creating projects, however he is a repeat offender when it comes to making great things and then leaving them in the dust. Just take a look at any of his older games! Gacha Studio and Gacha Club BOTH have the same bug where your game no longer saves your progress/characters. This sucks because both of these games are AMAZING! Gacha Studio is such a classic, and although it isn't as appreciated as gachalife, it truly deserves to be recognized as a good dressup game. Gacha Club, in our opinion, was the epitome of "gacha hacks" as once the game had come out, the community was quick to get creative with the adjustments which Gacha Club had introduced. Download any old Lunime game and you'll see that this is a pattern. Over and over again, Luni starts amazing projects just to abandon them once he finds something else to work on, which leads to him never actually finishing or fixing his games, even when said games are buggy or straight up no longer playable. We love Luni's creativity, and we are thankful for the hard work he puts into his games. He is a wonderful creator, but a less than acceptable sustainer for his projects. Because as much as creating is amazing, if one cannot sustain their creations, then what's the point? (Love your editing style, btw!)
"H-Hes overwhelmed! Give him time!" DUDE the game has been in an unfinished state for over a year. He promised to update with essential features, and those kept getting delayed. I understand a delay or two, obviously respect to the team. But I can't glaze him anymore, I rarely open the app anymore because you can't excuse these waiting times anymore lol

I've been using gacha for a while, and I decided to test it out for myself "I'll only go back to using gacha life 2 when there's a new update" to see if what he was saying about the updates every month was really true. I haven't logged into the game since last year 🤡 This is so sucked up man, even about the mods as well >:'/

Maybe he'll post some updates still on this year, but nobody knows if he'll continue posting updates on the game, or if he'll disappear and focus on Wonderend 0 like he always do with his new games. Ngl, I had a similar theory. Especially because stuff Chibimation have talked about since day one Luni accounced gl2 would be having. I am thinking he's trying to not update until Chibimation comes out so he can try and keep his community from straying away from his games.

Ikr, every day a new person in the official Discord asks when Luni is going to update gl2, and it’s gotten to a point where they have a pin stating that they don’t know. It’s honestly so frustrating too, as if you get annoyed at Luni for not updating, people will say stuff like “Well, he is busy or trying his best!” WHICH HE CLEARLY ISNT. I honestly cannot wait for Chibimation to get released, as I’m dropping gl2 for it as soon as possible.
Well, updating takes time, and it sometimes takes up to a year or more, too, since they'll will have problems with Google Play and more, It also needs money too, He also might have jobs or a family to tend too, Dont blame him for something he can't really control, He has his own life to catch up on and sometimes he gets carried away with life. 😭

they are still a human being and yeah most people have busy lives with things to do. it would be great if luni updated the game but they aren't obligated to and i am sure they have other things in their life that are more important.
I'll never forgive Luni for Gachaverse . I was actively waiting for the story mode and the new fairy (i think her name was vi or sumn) but not nothing ever happened. Like i was there actually collecting characters from gacha waiting for them to be used in battle mode but it never came 😞
Omg sameeeee As an old Gacha World player, I was so upset that he cancelled that project :,( Because I was looking forward to the new story where we are playing as the villain MC of GW (or maybe the Anti-Hero MC?) And GL's story mode isn't that great compare to GW's imo. (I know the Gacha visual novel exist but still...)
also the project (gachaverse) so huge upset for many artist since is the first with huge Collab. Some of them got paid the project cancel but idk the rest since the project used many artist as voluntary, so yeah... he basically scam artists that time. One artist name Mona (I believe) either quit as artist or change her name now as soon the project is cancel.
Thats my main problem with Luni. He 1.) creates games 2.) makes promises 3.) then breaks the promises 4.) and abandons the game and disappears I am not going to lie when I say it's definitely his fault that the community are mad and annoyed and upset at him by making mods of gl2. He breaks promises, abandons his games, and never actually update them. Luni, in my opinion, serves as an great example of the old saying "Don't make promises /you/ can't keep." Also him going full Nintendo on harmless mods doesn't help his case at all. Which made people dislike Luni even more.
I feel like Luni needs to prioritize one game and finish the rest of the game later to add more features. He can't keep going back and forth and falsely promising us that he'll finish the rest of them. Heck, he abandoned the whole story mode for Gacha Club. I don't hate Luni but as a developer, he keeps abandoning unfinished games and moving on to the next game which bothers me a lot cuz I've been patiently waiting for the updates of props and more backgrounds and it sucks. And agree with a lot of people that he isn't a perfect developer.
He is doing that, it makes sense for him to be working on WonderEnd as he's been making WonderEnd since before Gacha Club to the point that he put the first teaser in Gacha Club. I very much understand him focusing on WonderEnd, he's been working hard on that and had to put it on hold multiple times to do side things to make people happy, he deserves to be able to fully focus on something he's been working on for so long.

A lot of developers and creators don’t update their games because 1). They are busy with real life 2). They have other things that they want to work on 3). Family emergencies that could happen 4). Mental Health there are a lot of different possibilities for someone to not follow through with their work. Luni isn’t a bot that can just update all the time.

It's like, every time he releases a new Gacha, he promises he'll keep up, come the dreaded Christmas update, and he decides that is unfinished game is actually totally finished and moves on to a new project. Also he said about doing Gacha life 3 which isn’t a character making game. But he said it could come up in 2025, which means there’s a chance he won’t update Gacha life 2 again maybe. This is why I’m wait if for Chibimation since they actually seem to care. I know making games is hard, but if you just make a game, promise to update it, and then abandon it for every single game you make? Hell no. There’s a literal bug that DELETES a character u make if u switch them out, and that’s still not fixed. He wants to also make a Gacha life 4 as well. I have lowkey accepted the fact that Gacha Life 2 updates and any possible future games are just not gonna happen. At this point I'm outta my gacha phase anyways, but it's just so sad to see the community turn into this. I really hope things take a turn for the best soon.
My biggest problem with GL2 is that he seems to have forgotten the player base these games catered to - young amateur video creators. He removed static poses and character copying, which were such valuable and necessary tools in Gacha Club, and made the UI clunky and confusing. The app is not friendly to the 12-14 year olds beginning to write stories and play with film as a hobby while also going to school and doing homework. I'm 16 and autistic and when I first opened the app I nearly had sensory overload from how weird it was to navigate. I feel like Luni is so focused on the ' how ' of the franchise that he's forgotten the ' why. ' That's why I stick with Gacha Nebula.
I agree with this, as someone who doesn’t know much about editing, I really appreciated the QoL features that Gacha Club had. One thing though, it’s still possible to copy characters: You have to move the character you want to copy into the back-up slots, then change to any empty slot, go into presets, go to categories and select the very last category titled “Backup Slots” and look for the character you moved there, and select them as though it were a regular preset. They definitely should have added a more detailed tutorial in GL2, since it’s much more complex than the others. I literally figured out how to copy characters on accident 😭
He got rid of being able to move your head and switch arms in studio mode, deleting body parts, literally all the backgrounds, mini games, I’m not joking when I say Gacha life 2 is kind of a gem grinder for nothing
as someonewho struggles with finishing and starting projects (i most likely have ADHD, inattentive, and i also procrastinate) i FEEL for luni, even if hes not in the same predicament im in. for me, trying to do work i dont feel like doing is like digging a grave with a plastic spork (and then at the last minute i just GO GOGO!!1!1!). but, what he could and should do is get some other coders and stuff and have a small team. this would help with the update problem, as well as the poor coding. i quit doing gacha like a year ago, but i feel for those who still use it.

Also in general luni has been not well at communicating with players- it was so bad at one point that half of the community thought he was dead… And he probably did maybe keep things updated on discord but not everyone has discord! It wouldve been nice to see a video on his yt just stating that he wasnt dead. ALSO GL2 IS SO BUGGY! The preset poses are so glitchy, i cant even make poses without it breaking.

Honestly it feels like luni just neglects the games to work on a new one, even after just MONTHS they came out, I don’t think he knows how much this effects the quality of his games in general ,, I’d say this cycle began with Gachaverse, the game was supposed to have a whole battle system and story, which personally was very exciting for me since I always wanted a continuation of gacha worlds story, we were getting teasers for a few weeks then. Months go by, no updates, no anything. Then he suddenly annouces gacha life, which was .. weird knowing that there’s barely many differences between it and gacha verse apart from the gameplay?? Literally nothing was remade form the dress up part except for adding more items. Then gacha life 2 gets announced. A FEW MONTHS literally after gacha life came out. Literally you made a remake of a remake and now ur making another remake?? Huh 😭 anyways gacha life 2 turns into gacha club and then we get it in 2020. If I remember he said he would update it regularly yet. Norhing for like. A year or 2, maybe even 3. Most ppl can tell this isn’t good for keeping ur games alive, honestly I don’t rly play or like gacha anymore but I barely see anybody talk abt this and I find it hella sad considering I was one of those gacha ppl who also liked the battle parts of the game tldr gacha world was the best gacha game in my opinion fight ME (sorry for the yap I just thought this video helped me write out my thoughts lol)

He didn't wanna contend for the audience of his games, so even if he'd said that he wouldn't be making Gacha games until wonderend was completely finished (I think at least), he felt threatened by Chibimation and therefore rushed gl2 out

Luni has had endless controversies about so many things he's done, and I can't tell at all if he even is guilty or not, sexualizing his minor OCs, shipping himself with said OCs, tracing certain assets, etc. Things that have been swept under the rug and brought back to light over and over... (there're probably 100 videos on YT if you don't know what I'm talking about) But this. THIS has pissed me off for YEARS. FFS, in Gachaverse there is a battle mode that was supposed to be "coming soon" for like 7 years ATP!!! Just don't add those damned features in the first place 😭😭 and release the game without empty promises! I get one time but 4 TIMES w/ 4 DIFFERENT games???? (GV-GL-GC-GL2) No wonder he was YanDev's friend at some point😭
OH MY GOD I HAAAATEEEE LUNI. He has been a MASSIVE problem since Gacha STUDIO. everything says "coming soon" this "coming soon" that. GACHA STUDIO isn't even finished, it still says coming soon. Gacha club STILL has coming soon things (except it's UNUSABLE NOW). Gacha Life is his most finished game. I doubt Gacha Life 2 is going to be any different from GC and GS. He's either gonna attempt to make a new game with even more "coming soons" in the nest 4-5 years again, or ghost us and continue working on Wonder End. Based on things from a long time ago, he seems to have been working on the lore of wonder end for a while (it seems to be a passion project of his). But he needs to STOP promising things he CAN'T.
Something that I think is very necessary but I haven't heard anyone comment on the lack of shortcuts. Like, when you want to change something on your character's face you have to press home, press dress and go to faces. It's very inconvenient. Gacha life 2 for now is just a dress-up game, as it obviously wasn't designed to create stories.
FINALLY. This is the video i've been waiting for. There hasn't been ONE TIME where Luni was true to his own words and promises. I love GL2 but i don't want it to end up unfinished like GC. Luni promised SO MANY UPDATES for Gacha Club and look how it ended up. I hope it won't be the same with Gacha Life 2, but let's face it, it's really likely to be the case. It's a shame, i was looking forward to some features Luni promised, like the custom background feature There are things that NEED to be added to GL2, like more backgrounds, the objects, a better studio system. Luni should just finish the games before releasing them at this point.
One of my biggest problems is that there are still so many messed-up items in the game! If you look at skirt 87 you can see the bottom edges of the lace are translucent! This was the same in Gacha Club, He didn’t fix it! We lost a couple of hairs that we had a Gacha Club and we still don’t have many black hairstyles. I struggle to make hairstyles for my black characters because there isn’t much variety which annoys me greatly. Also he got rid of the premade poses. I can understand some people‘s argument on why he might have gotten rid of it. It would’ve been too hard with the new alteration of the game, but still, it’s annoying. Also, he got rid of many features that many people liked and used in Gacha Club, such as the character sheet, which allowed you to see and have a different parts of the characters spread out, which was great for people who did tweening. He also got rid of no lines option and so many others. Things that I used and many other people used in Gacha Club!
I have to agree COMPLETELY. The color bug in gacha life 2 is UGHHH.what i mean is where you tap to change the hair color say shade,you press the outline,and press shade again,AND THE SHADES A DIFF COLOR! Like MY GUY I WORKED HARD TO GET THAT COLOR WHAT THE FART😭😭
I'm honestly considering just completely changing over to Chibimation once it releases- Like, it looks amazing, has a similar style, and already has SO MANY MORE things then GL2. Plus, even though it's not out yet, they're giving us progress updates! Like we get to see *some* of the assets that are going into the game and stuff, and it looks AMAZING so far!!
He is not overwhelmed or stressed bruh, cuz why is he leaving Gacha Club in an “unfixable” state, Gacha Life 2, in a broken, glitchy, half finished state. AND THEN STARTS A WHOLE NEW GAME. Not to mention for some reason everybody’s shit looks different and all of my IOS characters have these weird holes in their legs or torsos where u can see a small individual pixel that’s not right. Luni is like my mind. It gets hyperfixated on a thing for two weeks and then gets distracted and hyperfixates onto another thing and comepletely loses motivation for the first thing but still wants to finish it.
I used to think it was normal, and I still believe it is. Sometimes I get so hyperfixated that I can't sleep or forget to eat. However, other times, I feel amazing. I feel like I can do everything. I have so many ideas that I’ve practically filled notebooks with them. Unfortunately, I often end up forgetting about these ideas or losing interest in the projects. It's so tiring 💀
Genuinly I only have hope in Chibimation, once it releases Im probably never going to look back, they are a team that regulary post sneek peaks/updates on how its going and have promised many GREAT features.
This is why i quit the gacha games and just went to drawing all my stuff. Not that i hate the games, they're really good and a part of my childhood, but i cannot keep excusing luni for his incompetence.
Okay, but honestly.. I love the Lunime Gacha games. With all my heart. i was around at the peak of Gacha Studio and Loveable Playz, and I simply fell in love with the ability to create characters and create stories with them. I was even a part of a little community on DeviantArt with my two brothers and a few other people, and we really did have a lot of fun together. Everytime Lunime would make a new game, it'd be better than the last, and I'd make the transition. But I cannot, for the life of me, make the transition from Gacha Club to GL2. I don't know what it is, but something about GL2 simply sucks all the motivation and inspiration I had right out of me. The moment I opened the app, I was confused, overwhelmed and disappointed, and it didn't get better the more I used it. I've made characters on there, new ones and recreations of old ones from previous games, and even a little version of myself. But creating them was not fun in any way like back then. I feel a little lost, in all honesty. Perhaps the things I want out of the game and the way I use it just doesn't align with the Gacha Community today and GL2 fits their needs, but I feel like GL2 has lost what made the previous games so charming in the first place. For me, it's the ability to tell stories within the game. Maybe thats just because GL2 is unfinished, but like it's been said, GL2 has been unfinished for a year by now. And really, you can make some really cool things with the game, there are creative people using it to make impressive characters and animations, and I love how people are testing the boundary of the game to make really cool things. But as someone who isn't really that creative and motivated, the game just feels hard to use in a way I can't explain. I still use Gacha Club, and the best part about it to me really is using it to tell stories afterwards. But if I can't use the characters to tell the stories, then I just don't find an already unenjoyable character creation process to be worth it. Of course, no hate to anyone who actually enjoys using the app, like I said there's really creative people utilizing the tools they were given to make really impressive things. But in my personal experience, GL2 is just.. Boring. Maybe I have just grown out of it, but it does make me sad that I can't follow the gacha community to what should be a new and better game, as someone who's been using the gacha games for a very long time.
I used to play GACHA WORLD long before I started using Gacha Studio, I lost ALL MY PROGRESS because I couldn't export my progress to my new device. That game hasn't been updated in years either, the last update Gacha World got was when they introduced *7 STAR CHARACTERS* and then... nothing. There wasn't anything new to the story either- I played that game religiously and just like all the gacha games it stopped getting updated.
It makes sense for him to be working on WonderEnd as he's been making WonderEnd since before Gacha Club, to the point that he put the first teaser in Gacha Club itself. I very much understand him focusing on WonderEnd, he's been working hard on that and had to put it on hold multiple times to do side things to make people happy, he deserves to be able to fully focus on something he's been working on for so long. This is also one of the first things that he's actually been passionate enough to work on for multiple years, it's hard to have the motivation to work on something for that long so I'm glad that he's found something that motivates him.

i have been a gacha fan since gacha studio, was around for the release of gacha verse and all the way to gl2 and unfortunately, this has always been an issue 😭 gacha studio and gachaverse have been completely forgotten about by both lunime and the community, ios users still don't gave the latest gacha life 1 update, gacha club is no longer being updated despite the ongoing bugs many users experience, and now the gl2 incident. i wanted to like gl2 so bad but it feels so unnecessarily complex. so many missing bgs, a lot of poses missing, takes to long to actually make a single pose because you have to adjust every part of the character, and so many cool features like life and randomization being stuck on 'coming soon'
Very based and valid opinion. Totally agree, because holy shit, when the hell are they gonna finish gacha life 2? We need the props and the "movie maker" thing whatever that means. Lunime is great, all their projects are incredibly better than the last one, all of them are good respectively. BUT, they just leave. Like every few updates for a game they just completely remove themselves off the face of the earth. And the excuse of "he's probably just burned out" ??? Are stupid, what does that even mean. Bro made this game for the sole purpose of stopping gacha mods :/ I knew that when he was like "oh yeah no mods allowed" then released a half baked game with bugs and glitches and then be like "oh dont worry ill update it later" realease's like 2 updates, then dips. And thats why i feel like GL2 was created so no mods could be made and Low-key I think he did it for the money.
Remember when Luni randomly updated the previous gacha games (I’m sure there was a reason for this) and ended up completely breaking Gacha Club in the process? No importing or exporting OCs. The auto save feature doesn’t work whatsoever, and people had to the weirdest ways to make the game save progress. I’ve always disliked how Luni manages his games. I’m pretty sure he has a team but im not 100% sure. Either way games do not get the updates they need in a reasonable amount of time- as you said- GL2 has the most inconvenient bugs that so desperately need to be fixed. Istg I remade 2 OCs because they randomly turned into a preexisting one. I just wish he would commit to working on the game and be honest if he didn’t have the motivation or whatever the issue is.
Love the personality. I couldn't agree more tho. I wanted to join a gacha collab but whenever i draw my character, it would just disappear all the way at the bottom of the screen. I felt over it and just deleted the damn thing. A game isn't that good of its not finished.

He's working on Wonderend now, the actual game. I honestly get why he would abandon the games for wonderend.. the new games seem to focus more on customisation and he wants to focus on lore now. ive honestly been waiting for an update too but i stopped expecting when i realised that its most likely gonna take ages. he's been making games for a long time, and the customisation games started with gacha studio. Of course, he gained popularity, so he kept making them. But just like any creator, they're bound to lose the passion to keep making the same thing. Gachaverse, gacha life, gacha club, gacha life 2.. they're the same thing. It makes sense why he would want to step away from that and focus on other projects like wonderend, because it's a whole new thing for him, for everyone else. maybe its js time to let it go and let him do whatever he wants. I know it's not a bad thing to wait for updates but there's really no point, the assets are fanmade anyway, and it's not like everyone uses gacha like before.

OMG I MISS MY GACHA ERA!! 11 YEAR OLD ME LOVED IT. I remember when gacha club came out and I was so excited to play it and being able to adjust my characters and etc. I wish gacha would give me the same joy as before, but now I've moved on. Guys remember, time is continuous. I wouldn't be surprised if Luni just abandoned everything. Honestly, I didn't really care about the gacha drama. I was just here to enjoy my time on the app. I didn't really care about the updates or promises that Luni made because, I was just happy to enjoy all the amazing creations hes made. You're not wrong about the last part, I wish Luni update GL2's model Saving progress because it's REALLY important to us. (I once lost few of my ocs when GL2 was new but thankfully I have it saved in my messenger). Unless if the Gacha Nebula team were to be the one to fix that(like how they updated the PC version of GL2), then I'm grateful for that. I'm still looking forward to GL2 updates, and if there are still no update, that's alright, Chibimation is my go to.

As much as I respect Luni, he really needs to improve on loyalty towards games. He could have done more than what he did to gacha club. All he did was make it buggy for iOS. And then he comes out with a new game expecting us to remake our ocs. The mods are good because they make the game better and if Luni doenst wanna improve, at least HIRE them for the actual game instead of making a new one. Just my opinion yk.

Coming from someone who was in the WonderEnd fandom since it was first announced, it was similar with that too. It was first mentioned in Gacha Club in 2021 and apparently we were supposed to get it in 2022 but NOPE! AND THEY SAID IT WAS JUST AN ESTIMATE WHICH WAS OK IG but then they had a date and everything for 2023 but then they made the decision to split it into 2 games?? Which was ok but now I had to wait MORE. And imo compared to the sneak peeks and the website the game was NOT as good as I was hoping it would be and they made a lot of changes to the story that seemed pretty random. I keep seeing people saying “WonderEnd isn’t scary” it would’ve been if Luni had stuck to his original plan for the game. I’m still happy with what we got but a bit disappointed because it could’ve been sm better. I wish it wasn’t in the gacha style I think that’s the biggest issue with it.

I agree the game needs to be updated, I was making twisted astro from dandy's world in GL2 and then the game glitched and stole Astros head, torso, and arms, and replaced it with twisted pebbles torso and head along with the glasses, visor and pigtail of a preset. It also wouldn't let me swap it with a different slot and would keep me stuck on the menu where u add, color, adjust, switch ur character with a preset, and edit the profile, I would have to leave and rejoin the game for me to not be stuck, and when I would try to swap it with a different character it would look like a normal preset just with twisted Astros legs and it's hands switching through all of the hand types on loop, and if u exported and imported it into a presets character it wouldn't do anything, it was like a incurable spreading virus, I fr had to turn both glitched characters into blank presets for it to stop, I even have pictures of the glitch- it was so crazy-
Not only that, but he ruined Gacha Club for iOS as well, meaning not only Gacha Life 2 is broken, Gacha Club as well. He should have backup files, this is absurd.

There’s a game called Gacha online roleplay. It’s on Roblox and I don’t think you can make films, but it has a TON of outfits, accessories, hair, and slots to make characters
I know this is a stupid thing to complain about but I NEED a landscape mode. Im so sick of being stuck in portrait mode like it makes the studio so unbearable. I think the thing is Lumine is probably one of if not the only developer that codes the games and coding is generally really tedious. If one part of the code is modified and all the other parts are made for very specific things (basically not very versatile and need to be overhauled / rewritten entirely in order to function right), the program (or game in this instance) breaks. This is generally a beginner issue though as typically, you learn how to handle these problems pretty early in your career. I think the main thing is that because Lumine is coding 2 games (maybe even more, who knows) at once and the gacha games don't really seem like a passion project to him (since he has so many and refuses to update them, just opting to make another game), it's probably really tedious for him to try and balance coding both games at once. Although, I do think it's pretty shxt of him to treat the gacha games as a side thing when so many people play them and are counting on him to keep it playable as a result. Another thing is I heard the reason why he made Gacha Club instead of just updating Gacha Life was that it would've messed up the code a lot which is kind of a dumb excuse since game devs overhaul and remake entire UIs all the time so in my opinion, I think the reason why he doesn't update the games that much is because 1) Too time-consuming and tedious, 2) the code is just generally not that clean or is lacking some stuff or 3) The Gacha games are just a side thing for him (Gacha studio came out in like 2017 so he's been making dress-up games with generally the same idea for like 6 years, that'll probably get pretty tiring eventually). Of course, this is all my own speculation and not facts so you don't have to listen to me but this is just my own idea of why Lumine is so on and off about Gacha updates.
i saw another video briefly saying that lunime (probably) rushed to release gl2 bcz of all the hype from chibimation and i think he did so basically, gl2 was released some time in october 2023, around the same time when chibimation was REALLY getting hype for its release. i feel like lunime was still working on gl2 around that time but when he saw the chibimation hype, he (maybe) thought: "Oh goodness! a competitor that looks like it could beat my *ss! I better release this unfinished, untested game that I'm still working on!" which could explain why there were quite a few bugs and so many incomplete features.

Agreed. Luni is amazing at creating projects, however he is a repeat offender when it comes to making great things and then leaving them in the dust. Just take a look at any of his older games! Gacha Studio and Gacha Club BOTH have the same bug where your game no longer saves your progress/characters. This sucks because both of these games are AMAZING! Gacha Studio is such a classic, and although it isn't as appreciated as gachalife, it truly deserves to be recognized as a good dressup game. Gacha Club, in our opinion, was the epitome of "gacha hacks" as once the game had come out, the community was quick to get creative with the adjustments which Gacha Club had introduced.
Download any old Lunime game and you'll see that this is a pattern. Over and over again, Luni starts amazing projects just to abandon them once he finds something else to work on, which leads to him never actually finishing or fixing his games, even when said games are buggy or straight up no longer playable.
We love Luni's creativity, and we are thankful for the hard work he puts into his games. He is a wonderful creator, but a less than acceptable sustainer for his projects. Because as much as creating is amazing, if one cannot sustain their creations, then what's the point?

Ikr, every day a new person in the official Discord asks when Luni is going to update gl2, and it’s gotten to a point where they have a pin stating that they don’t know. It’s honestly so frustrating too, as if you get annoyed at Luni for not updating, people will say stuff like “Well, he is busy or trying his best!” WHICH HE CLEARLY ISNT. I honestly cannot wait for Chibimation to get released, as I’m dropping gl2 for it as soon as possible.
Well, updating takes time, and it sometimes takes up to a year or more, too, since they'll will have problems with Google Play and more, It also needs money too, He also might have jobs or a family to tend too, Dont blame him for something he can't really control, He has his own life to catch up on and sometimes he gets carried away with life. 😭

Luni, in my opinion, serves as an great example of the old saying "Don't make promises /you/ can't keep."
Also him going full Nintendo on harmless mods doesn't help his case at all. Which made people dislike Luni even more.
I feel like Luni needs to prioritize one game and finish the rest of the game later to add more features. He can't keep going back and forth and falsely promising us that he'll finish the rest of them. Heck, he abandoned the whole story mode for Gacha Club.

A lot of developers and creators don’t update their games because
1). They are busy with real life
2). They have other things that they want to work on
3). Family emergencies that could happen
4). Mental Health
there are a lot of different possibilities for someone to not follow through with their work.

FINALLY SOMEONE TALKED ABOUT THIS!!! I'm tired of people holding Luni's head and acting like he's the little poor thing. "Give him a break, he's tired!" now creating new games and abandoning GL2 he doesn't get tired, right? Luni has to understand that if he wants to create a new project, he will have to complete the gacha, or update it from time to time. He knows what he's doing. I understand that he needs time, that he doesn't need to be tied to his own project, but that doesn't mean that he should abandon a project that promised everything, and delivered not even half of what it should have been. (I know this text is rubbish, I used the translator and just wanted to express myself in Luni's situation.)

My biggest problem with GL2 is that he seems to have forgotten the player base these games catered to - young amateur video creators. He removed static poses and character copying, which were such valuable and necessary tools in Gacha Club, and made the UI clunky and confusing. The app is not friendly to the 12-14 year olds beginning to write stories and play with film as a hobby while also going to school and doing homework. I'm 16 and autistic and when I first opened the app I nearly had sensory overload from how weird it was to navigate. I feel like Luni is so focused on the ' how ' of the franchise that he's forgotten the ' why. ' That's why I stick with Gacha Nebula.
I agree with this, as someone who doesn’t know much about editing, I really appreciated the QoL features that Gacha Club had. One thing though, it’s still possible to copy characters:
You have to move the character you want to copy into the back-up slots, then change to any empty slot, go into presets, go to categories and select the very last category titled “Backup Slots” and look for the character you moved there, and select them as though it were a regular preset.
They definitely should have added a more detailed tutorial in GL2, since it’s much more complex than the others. I literally figured out how to copy characters on accident 😭

as someonewho struggles with finishing and starting projects (i most likely have ADHD, inattentive, and i also procrastinate) i FEEL for luni, even if hes not in the same predicament im in. for me, trying to do work i dont feel like doing is like digging a grave with a plastic spork (and then at the last minute i just GO GOGO!!1!1!). but, what he could and should do is get some other coders and stuff and have a small team. this would help with the update problem, as well as the poor coding. i quit doing gacha like a year ago, but i feel for those who still use it.

Honestly it feels like luni just neglects the games to work on a new one, even after just MONTHS they came out, I don’t think he knows how much this effects the quality of his games in general ,,
I’d say this cycle began with Gachaverse, the game was supposed to have a whole battle system and story, which personally was very exciting for me since I always wanted a continuation of gacha worlds story, we were getting teasers for a few weeks then. Months go by, no updates, no anything. Then he suddenly annouces gacha life, which was .. weird knowing that there’s barely many differences between it and gacha verse apart from the gameplay?? Literally nothing was remade form the dress up part except for adding more items. Then gacha life 2 gets announced. A FEW MONTHS literally after gacha life came out. Literally you made a remake of a remake and now ur making another remake?? Huh 😭 anyways gacha life 2 turns into gacha club and then we get it in 2020. If I remember he said he would update it regularly yet. Norhing for like. A year or 2, maybe even 3. Most ppl can tell this isn’t good for keeping ur games alive, honestly I don’t rly play or like gacha anymore but I barely see anybody talk abt this and I find it hella sad considering I was one of those gacha ppl who also liked the battle parts of the game

OH MY GOD I HAAAATEEEE LUNI. He has been a MASSIVE problem since Gacha STUDIO. everything says "coming soon" this "coming soon" that. GACHA STUDIO isn't even finished, it still says coming soon. Gacha club STILL has coming soon things (except it's UNUSABLE NOW). Gacha Life is his most finished game. I doubt Gacha Life 2 is going to be any different from GC and GS. He's either gonna attempt to make a new game with even more "coming soons" in the nest 4-5 years again, or ghost us and continue working on Wonder End. Based on things from a long time ago, he seems to have been working on the lore of wonder end for a while (it seems to be a passion project of his). But he needs to STOP promising things he CAN'T.

Something that I think is very necessary but I haven't heard anyone comment on the lack of shortcuts. Like, when you want to change something on your character's face you have to press home, press dress and go to faces. It's very inconvenient. Gacha life 2 for now is just a dress-up game, as it obviously wasn't designed to create stories.

There are things that NEED to be added to GL2, like more backgrounds, the objects, a better studio system. Luni should just finish the games before releasing them at this point.
One of my biggest problems is that there are still so many messed-up items in the game! If you look at skirt 87 you can see the bottom edges of the lace are translucent! This was the same in Gacha Club, He didn’t fix it!
We lost a couple of hairs that we had a Gacha Club and we still don’t have many black hairstyles. I struggle to make hairstyles for my black characters because there isn’t much variety which annoys me greatly.
Also he got rid of the premade poses. I can understand some people‘s argument on why he might have gotten rid of it. It would’ve been too hard with the new alteration of the game, but still, it’s annoying.
Also, he got rid of many features that many people liked and used in Gacha Club, such as the character sheet, which allowed you to see and have a different parts of the characters spread out, which was great for people who did tweening. He also got rid of no lines option and so many others. Things that I used and many other people used in Gacha Club!
i SUPPOSE you could make your own character sheet by adjusting the limbs but. god that's so much more tedious 😭😭😭

I'm honestly considering just completely changing over to Chibimation once it releases- Like, it looks amazing, has a similar style, and already has SO MANY MORE things then GL2. Plus, even though it's not out yet, they're giving us progress updates! Like we get to see *some* of the assets that are going into the game and stuff, and it looks AMAZING so far!!
He is not overwhelmed or stressed bruh, cuz why is he leaving Gacha Club in an “unfixable” state, Gacha Life 2, in a broken, glitchy, half finished state. AND THEN STARTS A WHOLE NEW GAME.

I used to think it was normal, and I still believe it is. Sometimes I get so hyperfixated that I can't sleep or forget to eat. However, other times, I feel amazing. I feel like I can do everything. I have so many ideas that I’ve practically filled notebooks with them. Unfortunately, I often end up forgetting about these ideas or losing interest in the projects. It's so tiring 💀
Genuinly I only have hope in Chibimation, once it releases Im probably never going to look back, they are a team that regulary post sneek peaks/updates on how its going and have promised many GREAT features.

Okay, but honestly..
I love the Lunime Gacha games. With all my heart. i was around at the peak of Gacha Studio and Loveable Playz, and I simply fell in love with the ability to create characters and create stories with them. I was even a part of a little community on DeviantArt with my two brothers and a few other people, and we really did have a lot of fun together. Everytime Lunime would make a new game, it'd be better than the last, and I'd make the transition. But I cannot, for the life of me, make the transition from Gacha Club to GL2.
I don't know what it is, but something about GL2 simply sucks all the motivation and inspiration I had right out of me. The moment I opened the app, I was confused, overwhelmed and disappointed, and it didn't get better the more I used it. I've made characters on there, new ones and recreations of old ones from previous games, and even a little version of myself. But creating them was not fun in any way like back then. I feel a little lost, in all honesty. Perhaps the things I want out of the game and the way I use it just doesn't align with the Gacha Community today and GL2 fits their needs, but I feel like GL2 has lost what made the previous games so charming in the first place. For me, it's the ability to tell stories within the game. Maybe thats just because GL2 is unfinished, but like it's been said, GL2 has been unfinished for a year by now. And really, you can make some really cool things with the game, there are creative people using it to make impressive characters and animations, and I love how people are testing the boundary of the game to make really cool things. But as someone who isn't really that creative and motivated, the game just feels hard to use in a way I can't explain. I still use Gacha Club, and the best part about it to me really is using it to tell stories afterwards. But if I can't use the characters to tell the stories, then I just don't find an already unenjoyable character creation process to be worth it.
Of course, no hate to anyone who actually enjoys using the app, like I said there's really creative people utilizing the tools they were given to make really impressive things. But in my personal experience, GL2 is just.. Boring. Maybe I have just grown out of it, but it does make me sad that I can't follow the gacha community to what should be a new and better game, as someone who's been using the gacha games for a very long time.
I used to play GACHA WORLD long before I started using Gacha Studio, I lost ALL MY PROGRESS because I couldn't export my progress to my new device.
That game hasn't been updated in years either, the last update Gacha World got was when they introduced *7 STAR CHARACTERS* and then... nothing. There wasn't anything new to the story either- I played that game religiously and just like all the gacha games it stopped getting updated.
It makes sense for him to be working on WonderEnd as he's been making WonderEnd since before Gacha Club, to the point that he put the first teaser in Gacha Club itself. I very much understand him focusing on WonderEnd, he's been working hard on that and had to put it on hold multiple times to do side things to make people happy, he deserves to be able to fully focus on something he's been working on for so long. This is also one of the first things that he's actually been passionate enough to work on for multiple years, it's hard to have the motivation to work on something for that long so I'm glad that he's found something that motivates him.

i have been a gacha fan since gacha studio, was around for the release of gacha verse and all the way to gl2 and unfortunately, this has always been an issue 😭 gacha studio and gachaverse have been completely forgotten about by both lunime and the community, ios users still don't gave the latest gacha life 1 update, gacha club is no longer being updated despite the ongoing bugs many users experience, and now the gl2 incident. i wanted to like gl2 so bad but it feels so unnecessarily complex. so many missing bgs, a lot of poses missing, takes to long to actually make a single pose because you have to adjust every part of the character, and so many cool features like life and randomization being stuck on 'coming soon'
Very based and valid opinion. Totally agree, because holy shit, when the hell are they gonna finish gacha life 2? We need the props and the "movie maker" thing whatever that means. Lunime is great, all their projects are incredibly better than the last one, all of them are good respectively.

Bro made this game for the sole purpose of stopping gacha mods :/ I knew that when he was like "oh yeah no mods allowed" then released a half baked game with bugs and glitches and then be like "oh dont worry ill update it later" realease's like 2 updates, then dips. And thats why i feel like GL2 was created so no mods could be made and Low-key I think he did it for the money.
Remember when Luni randomly updated the previous gacha games (I’m sure there was a reason for this) and ended up completely breaking Gacha Club in the process? No importing or exporting OCs. The auto save feature doesn’t work whatsoever, and people had to the weirdest ways to make the game save progress.
I’ve always disliked how Luni manages his games. I’m pretty sure he has a team but im not 100% sure. Either way games do not get the updates they need in a reasonable amount of time- as you said- GL2 has the most inconvenient bugs that so desperately need to be fixed. Istg I remade 2 OCs because they randomly turned into a preexisting one.

Love the personality. I couldn't agree more tho. I wanted to join a gacha collab but whenever i draw my character, it would just disappear all the way at the bottom of the screen. I felt over it and just deleted the damn thing. A game isn't that good of its not finished.

Okay so i don't really even give a shit about gacha life/club anymore (quit in 2021) but the fact that he has left so many things unfinished really ticks me (and most of the fandom) off.
Like, imagine having 3 extremely popular games, to the point where fans are begging you to finish certain things but instead you choose to spend your time on some shitty generic story game.
And the fact that he doesn't allow mods?
Immediately gives new fans a perspective on you that no game developer wants fans to view them as. (Petty and money hungry)
And not keeping truthful to your words really shows what type of person he is.
You say this as if what Luni shows on the internet is what he is like outside of it.

He's working on Wonderend now, the actual game. I honestly get why he would abandon the games for wonderend.. the new games seem to focus more on customisation and he wants to focus on lore now.
ive honestly been waiting for an update too but i stopped expecting when i realised that its most likely gonna take ages.
he's been making games for a long time, and the customisation games started with gacha studio. Of course, he gained popularity, so he kept making them.
But just like any creator, they're bound to lose the passion to keep making the same thing. Gachaverse, gacha life, gacha club, gacha life 2.. they're the same thing.
It makes sense why he would want to step away from that and focus on other projects like wonderend, because it's a whole new thing for him, for everyone else.
maybe its js time to let it go and let him do whatever he wants. I know it's not a bad thing to wait for updates but there's really no point, the assets are fanmade anyway, and it's not like everyone uses gacha like before.

OMG I MISS MY GACHA ERA!! 11 YEAR OLD ME LOVED IT. I remember when gacha club came out and I was so excited to play it and being able to adjust my characters and etc. I wish gacha would give me the same joy as before, but now I've moved on. Guys remember, time is continuous. I wouldn't be surprised if Luni just abandoned everything. Honestly, I didn't really care about the gacha drama. I was just here to enjoy my time on the app. I didn't really care about the updates or promises that Luni made because, I was just happy to enjoy all the amazing creations hes made. Anyways, dunno why I went on a rant. I haven't gotten a Gacha related video recommended to me in awhile.
You're not wrong about the last part, I wish Luni update GL2's model Saving progress because it's REALLY important to us. (I once lost few of my ocs when GL2 was new but thankfully I have it saved in my messenger).
Unless if the Gacha Nebula team were to be the one to fix that(like how they updated the PC version of GL2), then I'm grateful for that.
I'm still looking forward to GL2 updates, and if there are still no update, that's alright, Chibimation is my go to.

As much as I respect Luni, he really needs to improve on loyalty towards games. He could have done more than what he did to gacha club. All he did was make it buggy for iOS. And then he comes out with a new game expecting us to remake our ocs. The mods are good because they make the game better and if Luni doenst wanna improve, at least HIRE them for the actual game instead of making a new one. Just my opinion yk.

Coming from someone who was in the WonderEnd fandom since it was first announced, it was similar with that too. It was first mentioned in Gacha Club in 2021 and apparently we were supposed to get it in 2022 but NOPE! AND THEY SAID IT WAS JUST AN ESTIMATE WHICH WAS OK IG but then they had a date and everything for 2023 but then they made the decision to split it into 2 games?? Which was ok but now I had to wait MORE. And imo compared to the sneak peeks and the website the game was NOT as good as I was hoping it would be and they made a lot of changes to the story that seemed pretty random. I keep seeing people saying “WonderEnd isn’t scary” it would’ve been if Luni had stuck to his original plan for the game. I’m still happy with what we got but a bit disappointed because it could’ve been sm better. I wish it wasn’t in the gacha style I think that’s the biggest issue with it.

I lost all my OCs, AND I DIDN'T SAVE THE OTHERS. 27 reworked OCs were thrown down the drain because the damn menu screen keeps changing and doesn't let me in 💀🙏🏻 Those ocs could've given me star club
I agree the game needs to be updated, I was making twisted astro from dandy's world in GL2 and then the game glitched and stole Astros head, torso, and arms, and replaced it with twisted pebbles torso and head along with the glasses, visor and pigtail of a preset. It also wouldn't let me swap it with a different slot and would keep me stuck on the menu where u add, color, adjust, switch ur character with a preset, and edit the profile, I would have to leave and rejoin the game for me to not be stuck, and when I would try to swap it with a different character it would look like a normal preset just with twisted Astros legs and it's hands switching through all of the hand types on loop, and if u exported and imported it into a presets character it wouldn't do anything, it was like a incurable spreading virus, I fr had to turn both glitched characters into blank presets for it to stop, I even have pictures of the glitch- it was so crazy-

There’s a game called Gacha online roleplay. It’s on Roblox and I don’t think you can make films, but it has a TON of outfits, accessories, hair, and slots to make characters

Speaking of the studio, why is it straight bootycheeks like i know there might be copyright issues or something with the backgrounds because most of the ones in gacha club are vectors taken right off freepik but theres literally nothing you could work with to keep the worldbuilding consistent at all

I think the thing is Lumine is probably one of if not the only developer that codes the games and coding is generally really tedious. If one part of the code is modified and all the other parts are made for very specific things (basically not very versatile and need to be overhauled / rewritten entirely in order to function right), the program (or game in this instance) breaks. This is generally a beginner issue though as typically, you learn how to handle these problems pretty early in your career. I think the main thing is that because Lumine is coding 2 games (maybe even more, who knows) at once and the gacha games don't really seem like a passion project to him (since he has so many and refuses to update them, just opting to make another game), it's probably really tedious for him to try and balance coding both games at once. Although, I do think it's pretty shxt of him to treat the gacha games as a side thing when so many people play them and are counting on him to keep it playable as a result. Another thing is I heard the reason why he made Gacha Club instead of just updating Gacha Life was that it would've messed up the code a lot which is kind of a dumb excuse since game devs overhaul and remake entire UIs all the time so in my opinion, I think the reason why he doesn't update the games that much is because 1) Too time-consuming and tedious, 2) the code is just generally not that clean or is lacking some stuff or 3) The Gacha games are just a side thing for him (Gacha studio came out in like 2017 so he's been making dress-up games with generally the same idea for like 6 years, that'll probably get pretty tiring eventually). Of course, this is all my own speculation and not facts so you don't have to listen to me but this is just my own idea of why Lumine is so on and off about Gacha updates.
i saw another video briefly saying that lunime (probably) rushed to release gl2 bcz of all the hype from chibimation and i think he did
so basically, gl2 was released some time in october 2023, around the same time when chibimation was REALLY getting hype for its release. i feel like lunime was still working on gl2 around that time but when he saw the chibimation hype, he (maybe) thought: "Oh goodness! a competitor that looks like it could beat my *ss! I better release this unfinished, untested game that I'm still working on!" which could explain why there were quite a few bugs and so many incomplete features.
