Modded 321A! Schindler (m.b. OTIS) Hydraulic Elevator - Integrity Suites - Penn Hills, PA

This has to be one of the weirdest modernizations I’ve seen! This also features the California white plastic buttons which are rare to see outside of California.

Definitely a strange mod, I once found a 321A that got modernized by Schindler themselves with one of those newer HXpress mods. One of the strangest things I ever saw. My real question is why it had to be modded since 321As aren't very old considering when they were installed.

Nice elevator, and it's interesting to see 321A elevators get replaced. I bet it won't be long before they start modernizing 300A and even 330A elevators. Also, it's interesting that Pennsylvania still uses the fire service panels on the main car stations rather than using the locked cabinets. Which fire service layout do you like better? The older style ones on the car stations or the newer ones with the locked cabinets? And what are the pros and cons of each?

Otis seemed to try their hardest to hide the fact this was a mod but we know it is. Those fixtures are newer Otis Vanity btw, but I’m pretty sure they’re uncommon too.

It's a pretty cool mod, and i wonder why they modded a 321a, well, they had their reasons. @PAelevators, and you're right, it might still have a Schindler door operator, and maybe Schindler doors too.
