Well it's really for the lights and fan, the rest of the cpu is on a different switch. That way when they turn it off, they can keep the 110 power on so they don't freak out passengers during a rescue.

Some elevators have windows to where you don’t have to turn that shaft light on in the daylight but when it’s dark you have to turn the elevator shaft light on
@@Jamestube8439 I have a therapist that I see every Tuesday and he was telling me that he was on an elevator that automatically parks on the 1st floor and the doors open automatically and when they close and you press the door open button it will open and he was telling me that the 1st floor was a restricted floor and I told him that it should not open at a restricted floor on any elevator and he told me it did can it open or not I wanted to know from you
@@noahharris2260 it varies on every elevator. Most of the time if the elevator is sitting on a restricted floor the door open function won’t work. Sometimes, but not always.

I’ve seen inside an elevator shaft before the person told my mom and I that the elevators weren’t working right when we were getting ready to get on one and the person told us that it would stop on every floor going down when I was going to the dentist at Riley hospital
Well DieselDucy says if you get permission from the building owner that you can. I only use my keys with permission and I was with a facilities management worker during the time I took this.
Why does the chime not ring went the elevator is at the Basement?
@@MasonDomingo-sg8pe All the chimes except the Ground floor don’t seem to work. The up/down lights work though
I like how elevator car tops have shaft light on elevator cars
It's important so the engineers can see since it's pretty dark in most elevator shafts
Jamestube 8439 I know I’ve rode a couple different elevators and looked up the shaft and saw they left the shaft lights on
Awesome!!
Thanks!

Yeah it's noisy because of the machinery down in the Basement.
your references to `110 power' is actually the traveller cable. signalling, power, and sometimes coax/Ethernet.

Very nice disclaimer, my high school as a matter of fact has a Dover Impulse Elevator.

If you did this with express high rise elevators that would have a problem with people waiting for an elevator
That is true, however I probably wouldn't in a high rise building anyway.
Jamestube 8439 same here

Nice, interesting how it stopped on every floor. In high rise building that would terrible.
Jamestube 8439 I know

No I always use them with permission.
