  • This is basically the same as the ninja 400 - minus the clipons and fairings.
    And it feels like it too - light, sporty, fast and exciting, a very nice "young" bike.

    Been riding all my life. Purchased a new z400 approximately five to six months ago. I researched for 2 years and watched many of UA-cam videos over the course trying to rebuild my credit save some money and figure out what I wanted to do. I wanted a cool commuter period and something that wasn't heavy to pick up in the event it hit the ground . I narrowed it down to a couple of motorcycles and chose the Kawasaki. After having the bike for five or six months and adding a Leo vent slip on exhaust to it, lost about 7 lb and added horsepower and it sounds pretty cool period and I only weigh 135 lb. It moves plenty well with me on it. Can't tell you how fast I've ridden it and often period and I do have aggressive days that I ride wheelies and leave fish tails. The bike is simply awesome! I would buy it again tomorrow. I have no regrets period and by the way it is not just a beginner bike.

    Kawasaki Positive Neutral Finder. Easy to find neutral from 1st gear, other gears, not so much. Looks like a great bike to get started in the sport.

    • @kleinbottled79
      @kleinbottled79 5 років тому +5

      Yup it's almost impossible to click down from second into neutral. Really even clicking up from 1st looking for neutral is hard unless you are fully stopped. On the plus side it prevents a few accidental neutrals. On the whole, I like it more than I dislike it. Barely.

      kleinbottled79 it’s even worse when you have just turned the bike on.

      I'm so spoiled by the Positive Neutral Finder on my Kawi's, when I ride my other bikes I have to hunt for Neutral at every stop. I wish everyone would use that feature.

    • @jsprite123
      @jsprite123 5 років тому +2

      @@tneper Agreed. I tried a few Hondas and trying to find neutral was an exercise in frustration. Love this feature on my Z400.

      Its a great things about Kawis actually. I always just click mine down into first, then if i need nuetral its easy, just click up. I've almost always had a Kawasaki though so im pretty used to it by now.

    I am a fan of both the Z400 and Duke 390, cannot decide between them. Have a Versys 650 which I love.

  • @timetraveller3063
    @timetraveller3063 3 роки тому +5

    I have a Z125 and it's 💯 reliable. I am 6.3 and it's big enough. I will upgrade soon to Z400. Although the Duke 390 is probably a little more fun, I will take reliability over fun any day. To many electrical problems and valve problems with the Duke 390 and KTM servicing is very expensive in UK. Z400 all day.

  • @Roy_Godiksen

    From the moment i saw Kawasaki announce this bike, i've been sure this will be the best selling A2 (beginner bike) of 2019. A Ninja 400 in a naked version! However i thought they would change the foot peg position to a little more upright. It's a good thing that it can't enter neutral when your riding. You're not suppose to use neutral while moving. And you're Never suppose to use neutral when approaching a stop sign, traffic jam or red light.

    • @jsprite123
      @jsprite123 5 років тому +5

      Yep. Safer to stay in 1st while at a stop sign. If the stop is going to take a while, then you can put it in neutral and rest your clutch hand.

  • @guiltygearcore

      If they would have done that i would not have bought a Z400. Regardless, i love the little thing, apart from the awfully bent knees that hurts after an hour or so of riding, i'm 5'11" by the way, the only part of the bike that i'm not crazy about is the gearbox. Sometimes it wont go down a gear if you try to skip one so if yo get to a stop in 3rd for wathever reason you have to play with the clutch a lot and move the bike around for it to go, sometimes it won't go down at all while slowing down so you have to let go of the clutch and start over

    • @drewmorg.
      @drewmorg. 2 роки тому

      They should do a slimmed down Versys 400 not designed for 2 up touring but more sporty like the Tracer 700 and new Tiger Sport 660. Would kill the market.

      @@borisbarrios5264 If you are truly a beginner this bike will be more than adequate especially if under 180 pounds. Excellent bike to get started on. The other bikes listed are much more expensive and much easier to get into trouble. 6 months on a Z400 and your skill will be far superior to a newbie on a 650 class bike because you will be able to more safely test your limits.

    you know if I were a new rider I wouldn't want "fun" while I'm going around a corner never mind panic. Anything that makes me question the stability of a bike is liable to make the error I'm making worse as I over/under react out of inexperience due to the Fun/panic.
