- GREETINGS COMRADES! Today I ride quite possibly the best starter bike on the market today.. or at least until the Yamaha MT-03 comes here to the United States of MURICA. anyways, thanks for your support and I’ll see you in the next vid!
Just received a Z400 today after purchasing it last Wednesday. It’s my first bike ever. And it handles very nicely and the clutch is not difficult to hold in.
Thanks for the In depth analysis
I'm an experienced rider and this little bike looks like a lot of fun for anyone. The color scheme looks really good too. I wouldn't mind adding something like this to my garage. My Triumph Bonneville T100 could use a little buddy.
Dude no offence but your voice do really sound like How to train your Dragon's main character. BTW I love that movie 👍👍😁
Lmao thanks? 😂
Sounds like a Do It With Dan imitation.
Hiccup is now taming bikes!
lol
@@theprofessionaldillweed6235 I think he's just talking about the way you're faking the speech pattern.
The way you over-emphasize things and draw them out, just seems unnecessary.
Just talk normal my guy
That color scheme just screams Japanese Duke 390
Really. Orange for a kawi hmm.
As a moderate rider I bought the 2021 red and black z400 best choice I ever made to get back into riding👍👍
That color looks good , I might have chosen it over my green .
same man! but i'm still really happy with my dark red and matte black combo
I highly recommend getting a set of $25 mirror extensions for the z400 and maybe a slip on exhaust
Other than that the Bike is fantastic I've had zero problems with mine
how is it on the highway? are the revs to high going 70-80 mph? I know my klr burns oil at those speeds for a long period of time.
Which ever way you look at it , its a twin and runs much smoother then a 390ktm which is a single...
I've had mine for about 9 months now. It's very comfortable and easy to Ride. I started street riding on a Yamaha yzf 600 Back in the Day
If you had to drive this only on city streets and under 50 mph would that be annoying, or still fun?
Trying to compare to MT03
@@grumpysquid still super fun
But I would consider a scooter if only going to be under 50 mph and city only No highway
Legend has it that you're still sitting at that looong red light 😆 🤣
Absolutely hate the exhaust, drives me crazy every time I look at a new bike the first thing I do is calculate the cost of a full exhaust replacement in with the price
same
Not just a starter bike. I've been riding all my life. I bought a new z400 5 months ago after researching UA-cam and figuring what I was going to buy for the course of 2 years as I rebuilt my credit. I can assure you after all of the research that I did to purchase the Kawasaki z400, I was not disappointed I am not disappointed, and I would rebuy that bike again tomorrow. Put a Leo vent slip exhaust on it. Lose about 7 lb, add about a horsepower, and make it sound pretty nice. And it will do anything and everything you need it to do.
Lmfao , you’re comment reminded me to pay my credit card bill before it was to late , I honestly love building my credit up it’s like a game
I love the orange color. Visibility is always a plus for safety reason. However, for a smaller rider like me, the handle bar is so far away that my posture was not any more upright than on Ninja 400. If the handle bar was closer and angled, it would be super ergonomic.
it kinda is a compact ergonomic design
Amazing bike easy to handle but with plenty of fun
Is it more torquey than the ninja?
I know the top speed is lower than the ninja because they tuned the ninja on the high range 194kmh vs 180kmh z400
I believe it is from what I've seen
" what do you want ?!" my favorite part of the video, lol.
I feel safer on the highway than city streets. most accidents happen at intersections. On the highway all the cars are going in the same direction.
I shed a little tear in when you looked at the gas station at the 4:17 minute mark. $2.03 cents /gallon. The good ol days :(
*sigh* $4 a gallon ain’t it chief lol
Why did you park in the handicap parking?
Also, that blue bike is fully blocking the wheelchair ramp. People need those, yo.
Great little bike but we don’t see eye to eye on the colour lol I’d call it Georgia peach lol love your reviews bro keep up the great work and be safe! ✌🏻🇨🇦😉
I have had this same bike for 2 years. I’ve ridden every kink of bike in over 50 years of riding. I would not recommend this as a first bike. Too much power for an inexperienced rider. I do recommend it for everyone else. I think a used 250 for a year for a beginner. Then move up.
how would you compare the 400 vs the 300? a little more faster? im short like hella short so for m ei couldnt even flat foot, i had to be in tippy toes. i had a 250 and a 300. now i want something bigger. i had a cbr 600 awsome bike but way way too tall for me. that one i had to rock it leaning in on one foot. dont even get me started how hard it was backing up on it
I had a Z300 before my Z400 - very different bikes... The 400 has way more torque. I love mine!
im a short guy as well. sucks being short bro 5'5 BARELY. i had cbr600 too so i feel your pain
I really wanted this bike but it seems like it won't be much of an upgrade in speed from my naked CBR 300 (cb300f) maybe I should just get a sv650
I have one and its a fun nimble little bike. I weigh 280lbs but it is still quick. Not the fastest but it is still fun. I would recommended getting the wind screen and improved seat if you are a taller rider. I think the smaller engine makes it more fun. you can crank the crap out of it with less risk of killing yourself.
Definitely thinking about getting this bike for my first one
Me too
Just got my Z(ee/ed) 400 this week. This video helped me narrow down my choice :)
It’s Z not correctly pronounced any other way
Starter bike starter bike, everyone says this garbage. I've ridden/owned everything from a zx6r all the way up to a zx14 and would seriously consider one of these. It's not always about going super fast. It's nice having to pay cheap insurance, get good mpg and still hop on the interstate for a cheap price.
I’m 5’3 about 154 pds. I can flat foot the z400. I’m deciding between the z125 and z400. I’m not sure which one to get. I feel like the z125 is the little brother to the z400. What would you suggest? This is my first bike as well.
It’s quite a difference between those two. Lol but for a first bike I’d have to go for the 400
if you live down south where it hardly gets cold you can literally use this bike as your main mode of transportaiton. the z125 not so much. Z400 is versatile and i would get the z400 for sure.
Nice review.. is it punchy enough ?
Let's adjust the mirrors. Okay now I can see who's losing.... 😆
I like low engaging clutches on both cars and bikes
2:06 oooh I see awesome car right there man, what is that? By the way..I'm planning to buy this motorcycle soon, nice review man 👍🏼
That’s a Polaris slingshot :) and thanks!
did you get one? so am i
I'm 6ft 230 lbs is this bike going to have trouble getting up A hill with me on it??? How about interstate speeds, 60-80??
im 6'4 260 and i think its fine
@@bobzilla7507 No issues reaching 80 MPH??? Thanks for the feedback!
@@AKlover no, def not. You gotta give her gas, but she will get there np. I almost got up to 100 on an empty highway but had to slow down because of the road being shitty.
@@bobzilla7507 An R3/Mt-03 is not an option neither is anything smaller than that. Definitely NOT buying A KTM and I can't tell from the numbers or have anyone explain a definitive reason why I should pay the $2K premium A CBR 500 commands over a Z400 here. So the Z400 is pretty much it.
@@AKlover yeah, ive been very happy with it. Put 600 miles on in less than 2 weeks lol
Is that m.p.h.? Looks really nice and easy to ride! what about up steep hills?
I know I’m late lol but nobody has responded, it’s perfectly fine up steep hills. Depending on the gear sometimes I do have to drop a gear and get on it a little to maintain speed up steep hills but nothing unmanageable. Super fun bike all around highly recommend
Is this light gonna turn GREEN or WAT? :DDD
Does anyone who has ridden a z400 long term have opinions on first bike for females? I have quite a few female ride-alongs who want to take the next step and start riding by themselves. I figured my R6 is probably a bad idea for them.
Z400 and ninja 400 are good enough to keep up. I think more power z650 or ninja 650 and still a fairly short seat height
the z 400 would be a great first bike because she could still keep up and not feel the need to upgrade until her skills do. If she has decent previous experience then the z650 would be good. It's 60 lbs heavier than the 400. After over 30 years of riding I sold my big heavy bikes and bought a z400 for commuting and it's a blast. The 400 would really help a beginner work on their skills because it allows people to learn without paying a painful price. The price is very attractive as well.
Honey .. z400 suits for female more compare to ninja
Had my z400 for 12 months now and it would make a great first Bike
hook it up bro
How does that dude in the green mini bike 10:34 know what speed he is going at if he doesnt have a speedometer?
I wish we have that color here in brazil.... and that it didnt cost US$5.000,00 (I hate tax with all my might)
Would you recommend this over the Ninja 400 for a first bike?
As a fan of naked bikes I personally would go for this
sexy time
Would the Ninja 400 be the best sport bike to start with as a first bike?
It is a very good first bike I would recommend it just as much I recommend the Z-400
Being a newer rider and owning one for a while, I'd say very much yes. The twin engine will help you not stall and the riding position keeps you comfy but still letting you tuck in for some spirited riding. That engine is a very sweet one as well.
i say go for the h2
The color is incredible, I have a blue one
I'm six foot three, do you think I would fit comfortably?
I have the same exact question
You'd probably fit more comfortable on a Yamaha MT03
I’m 5’11 230 first time ride would this be a great little starter bike?? Pls help haha
Absolutely! it’s got plenty of power even for larger riders :)
Commenting for youtube algorithm1
For info, see the Rabid Hedgehog review of the Z400.
This has been one of the least useful motorcycle reviews I have seen on UA-cam. The first fact (very easy clutch) comes at the 3:10 mark. Everything prior is useless filler. Not my style.
Advice, you have about 10 seconds to engage the viewer, so don't waste the first 30 seconds on your branding.
Won't be subscribing.
That’s crazy bro I live in Georgia and am looking at getting one of these !
Send it man!
Really making me want one of these over some of the other bikes I'm looking at.
Tashin32 - Yamaha MT-03 is a great option and very friendly, also better styling than the Kawi
@@Bikerbug2020 I do like the looks slightly better, but having owned a ninja 400 before I know the engine has more than enough for me to comfortably ride on the crazy Georgia interstates that usually have traffic running 85mph. I'm just a little hesitant to get a smaller engine and have to wind it out even harder. If it was a second bike, id get it in a heartbeat, but since it is only about $300 cheaper around me than the Z40p, it makes the choice that much more difficult.
@tashin32 hey what does it mean to wind it out even harder? I never owned a bike and I love the mt 03 Yamaha but only goes 100mp this orange one $400 more for 120+mp idk either
This or the MT03 for a first bike?
Personal opinion; Z400 :)
MT has rust issues.
Have you tested the Yamaha MT-03 already?
Yes I have!
@@theprofessionaldillweed6235 So... ?
I have a vid on it if you wanna watch it
Which is better for around town and short trips? Which has more fun on any given day? Trying to decide between this and MT03
Love my green but that orange is a great look too!
Dude what song for intro
My guy pulls up and says “otay” 🤣
I want to go back to the states so badly just to ride this
I could take your voice, impatients with other motorists and traffic lights for six minutes.
The man from del monte he say "KTM" 🤣🤣🤣 but it won't break down, TANGO!!!!
Fun riding with you that day man, your videos are pretty well made!
A 'twin parallel' engine? So it's an in-line 4 then? :-D
😂😂😂😂
Just bought this bike today, in orange.
Nice man! Ride safe!
@@theprofessionaldillweed6235 A reply from the man himself! Thanks and you too. Keep doing what you're doing.
This bike has a brake fade issue
Really?!
What do you mean
fantastic
You would do so much better if you dropped the "dill-weed" moniker and started speaking normally.
I have this motocycle like green one 😊
Ride safe lods..lams na
Nice bike 1
The one who ditches this bike for that shitty mt03 is really senseless person they go for overpriced shit which doesn't even afford the worth while this is worth every penny..
It’s me Blvy
Boggi ayee wassup
ktm 400
Lol
Next time just talk normally!
Irritating reviewer.
Lmao you again?
Irritating commenter.
first 30 secs and I stopped watching.....so annoying
