The sad problem. The only good reason (aside from galactic preparation in me3) is to hold the 'I told you so' on them as a cudgel for the rest of the series; even if they pretend otherwise. Better off then a new set of politcal failures that are both afraid of you and completely dont trust you. As for losing the human fleet, it's kind of irrelevant considering me3's opening.
@@drewjn yeah. I don't see a point in letting the council die. If you do the new council hates you. If you save the old one atleast you will get reinstated as a specter, and you'll have the satisfaction of "I told you so" to them.
@@lazerwolf952 The new council also reinstste you as Spectre. There is a common misunderstanding that letting them die means you don't get your Specter status back in ME2 and 3. For 2, you just need to make sure Anderson is Councilor and he reinstates your status. In 3 they do it too, though I don't know if this always happens or only of Anderson did in in 2, since in that case you never lost your status after ME2
@@19Sephirot93 well it's still a dumb idea to think everyone is just going to be happy about you letting the old council die. You really think the new one is going to want to help you?
@@lazerwolf952 That's not the point of my comment. I was merely saying that because you said "the old one atleast will get you reinstated". Both councils do, as long as Udina isn't Councilor. Technically speaking, there is not a rule that says he can't sacrifice the council if it benefits the mission, so Shepard kiiinda was doing what the Council authorized him to. And he only lost his status because he died. So if we are nitpicking, he didn't do anything wrong and the new one has to reinstate is status. Not saving the Destiny Ascension shouldn't be a renegade option. It's the most sound tactical choice. They sure make it easy to not regret it though.
