I do a lot of videos about flash photography, but constant lights are a very useful option for many photographers who also shoot video - I hope this video gives a good basic option for your lighting.
Thanks, I saw another video about constant light by someone several weeks ago and it's been in the back of my mind. Seems like a less expensive way to begin and can help you to see shadows and lighted areas better as you learn.
Great tutorial!!! thank you so much! Really curious about the mini bowens mount of your light, kinda looks like Nanlites FM mount I wonder if the accesories are compatible between the two of 'em!
Well it’s a standard bowens, BUT, the mount has to be attached to the light. There is a native mount for the cap and reflector that is much smaller/proprietary.
I used that meter for sometime and I did like it. It’s a good meter. I did an earlier video on light meters you might want to have a look at here: Best light meter - the incident light meter for ambient light portraits. ua-cam.com/video/bXCqZ3KEzWQ/v-deo.html
I have been a professional photographer for over 28 years and have not used a flash in over 7 years since I got into video and constant lighting. Unless you are doing night time paparazzi type photography , street flash photography or need to "freeze" something in studio, Flash is NOT necessary these days.. Specially with the higher ISO being so clean these days.. I also have been using my screenshots as "Photos" from my Videos for the last 2-3 years and nobody knows the difference. at least not on any social network resolution..

I have a pair of Neewer RGB LED panels. They're great. very versatile and easy to use.

If you’re new to visualizing lighting, yes. It’s how I learned when I was in the film business. Thanks for watching!

Super helpful thanks!
Glad to hear it!
I’m looking to purchase a light meter. Would you recommend a Sekonic L-358?
