As a college student who gave up drinking, I love this kind of product! It brings me joy to put intension into my mock tails instead of just settling for a pop or water at a party. I also love being able to put attractive bottles on my bar cart and the way being "over the influence" can look very sexy instead of suspicious!!
Love this! You should check out my latest review video. Some really beautiful (and of course delicious) bottles for your non alcoholic bar. Wilfred’s bittersweet aperitif has a particularly pretty bottle.
Great video. I stopped drinking a year ago and while I don’t miss the booze I do miss the “ritual”. I’d tried Ritual’s whisky alternative but really didn’t care for it. Figured that was the end of my mock tail experience. Just started noticing that there are a ton of options out there. Going to have to build up my bar and will be sure to include some of these and your recipes. Thanks!
I’m so glad you found this video helpful! I find myself drinking more mocktails than cocktails as of late. There really has been some amazing products coming out. Cheers!
I’m sober and am on a journey to become a well rounded mocktail hobbyist. This video was SO HELPFUL! So many mocktails are heavy on the sugar and juice but n/a spirits have come so far since then.
Yes! That’s awesome. They really have come a long way. It’s a bit more tricky to get the balance right with N/A cocktails. I find by adding heat/ texture can take them next level- N/ A bitters are game changers! If you haven’t yet, check out All The Bitter non alcoholic bitters
Indeed! I’m glad you found the video useful. I was actually just gifted some Proteau from John deBarry himself. Highly recommend, I feel like the Ludlow red is right up your alley.
Thank you so much! We decided to try something different this year with our channel. I’ve been building up my n/a selection for awhile. Glad to finally have enough to do a proper review
Awesome video! I for one would definitely like to see a video about your non-alcoholic Campari. I’m slowly collecting the ingredients to try my hand at your homemade Campari, can’t wait to try it.
Awesome! I used pretty much the same ingredients as the alcoholic version, but used a different technique for extraction. I’d love to hear how your batch turns out! I’d recommend doubling the sugar from my recipe.
This is an amazing review! Can you review more euphorics? would love your input on those both the energizing ones and the night caps. Love your channel!
I picked up the Ritual Rum Alternative. The greatest compliment is my wife‘s reaction to smelling it, “Why would you drink that?! It smells like rum! How did they do that?” Great product, I’m going to have no problem finishing it off within it’s 12 week shelf life.
Wow, fantastic review! Thank you so much for this! I've been curious about so many of these, but I haven't yet tried any. This will be my go-to resource for choosing them when I'm ready to buy!
Thank you for this video. As someone who recently has been diagnosed with a TBI, I'm learning that I can't drink traditional alcohol as I did before. Your reviews are so great.
I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnoses. I'm glad these reviews help, I should have more coming son that will cover NA beers, wines and more spirits. Wishing you good health 🙏
What a great informative and necessary video. Plus we get to see your lovely face! What more can you want? Happy new year hope to see more of you this year!
Wonderful video, thank you so much for this review! I did Dry January, 2022 and am continuing on since I feel so good without the alcohol. I've tried a few NA spirits that are pretty good and you've given me tons more ideas. I ordered a few bottles based on your recommendation. Very much appreciate this.
That’s awesome! I’d love to hear how you like them! I find myself drinking far more n/a spirits than alcohol these days. The options keep expanding and getting better. If you are a wine drinker at all, I’d recommend anything by Leitz. Cheers!
Thanks for the review! Of the spirits you went through, I've had the Monday gin (a bit too bitter for me, but then again I didn't really give it a try in anything besides just adding Fever Tree tonic so I'm willing to give it another go). I've also had both the Ritual and Spiritless whiskeys, I'm looking at the dregs of my Spiritless bottle now. The Ritual does taste like raisins and leather to me, I liked the Spiritless better. My FAVORITE NA spirit so far has been Aplos - it is SO good and gives me a nice chill buzz. I have my 3rd bottle of it (4th?) on the way to me now along with some Gnista Barrel Oak, which I'm super excited about! I ordered both from Boisson (my partner knows the owner), they have been SUPER helpful in my NA journey. It's so hard, actually impossible to find NA spirits here in Nairobi, but there are a lot of bars that do mocktails. I bet if an NA bottle shop opened here they could clean up nicely! Well sorry didn't mean to write a novel but I am definitely subscribing to your channel and your website!!! Looking forward to more NA reviews (and that red lentil curry recipe, eh?)
Thank you so much for these suggestions! Boisson just opened up a shop right in my neighborhood and I’m very excited about it. I go there quite a bit- you’re very lucky to have an in!
This is such an informative video! The only channel on the whole of cocktail/spirits UA-cam I’ve found that seems to take non alcoholic spirits seriously. Great for dry January and our non drinker friends! A lot of these sadly aren’t available in the UK but I’ve just ordered the Tequila substitute you recommended and guess I’ll have to make the non alcoholic triple sec too now. This is a great style of video, if you have any plans to do a similar thing for different styles of spirits, liqueurs, fortified wines or whatever I’d definitely be interested in hearing your comments, particularly if it’s on something many of us would be unfamiliar with such as these. Keep up the great content and happy new year!
Thank you so much! I truly believe everyone should have a great cocktail and am happy that these exist. I really hope you love me the tequila! I’d love to hear what you think. I do believe there are some great options from the UK, though I haven’t had a chance to try them myself. I’d love to do more of these kinds of videos. Thank you for your suggestions and kind words!
Hello from Utah…I guess I’ll have to start having my Mormon neighbors and friends over now??? 😂🤣 Seriously though, very interesting to learn of the non alcoholic spirits and see the cocktails. It was also nice to see the face behind the voice. (It’s very humanizing!). And your channel seems to be picking up a little steam. Congrats! Cheers
Hello! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. I really do think n/a spirits have come a long way in the short time they’ve been around. It’s nice to be picking up some momentum!
This must be how Dorothy felt when they finally saw the real OZ! Another great vid… although I’m going to have to rewatch some of old ones, now that we have a face behind the hands :)
Thanks for this video, I’ve been wondering about these for a while and this is by far the best presentation of the pros and cons of the various options I’ve seen!
MEAGHAN!!!! This is seriously the first time we did see you in front of the camera! I do remember your Dry January last year and I kind of forgot again that that’s a thing lol. I’ve got to take a 2nd glance at what we have in queue now 🤣😂
It is indeed my debut! I’ve collected a lot more non alcoholic spirits since last year and intend to make some fun drinks for drinkers and non drinkers alike!
@@TheWeePearl yes! PS I hit too fast and hit “dislike” by accident on your comment back, EEEK! I immediately changed to like but didn’t want you to be like “what?!?”
Thank you so much for making a video of reviewing these non alcoholic spirits. I always feel so left out at gatherings, as i am 7 years sober. Also me and my fiance are getting married this december and i am looking for alternatives for myself.
Very cool! I'm a huge fan of zero alcohol fizzy wine, as a category, it has come a loooong way from what was around even 15 years ago. A staple for any bar, no doubt! I'm yet to try any NA tequila, its on the list now!
Same! Back in the day the only one that was widely available was Fre. The category as a whole has come a long way, except for red wine lol. That’s got a ways to go. Cheers!
This was awesome! I have previously been pretty skeptical of these N/A spirits, but after watching this I'm definitely interested in checking a few of these. The Ritual Rum and Monday Gin alternatives both sounded the most interesting to me. Cheers!
Thank you! They have come a long way since I first had them. I would definitely recommend both of them. I also have a 10% off discount for ritual if you want to test it out! (THEWEEPEARL)
So great. We’re in alignment with the ones I’ve tried, so I’m going to prioritize trying the others you liked. The other Kin is High Rhode, and I like it, but not for the price. 😫 I’d be interested in a whole euphorics review, like Curious brand. I think they’ll always be niche, but an important niche that will grow. I personally am focusing on making my own drinks with fresh, locally sourced ingredients with nootropics, in collaboration with herbalist friends. I recently made a nitro chaga tea (served from a whipper 😅) using mushroom tea a friend foraged. 🤗 Turned out great.
Hey! Thank you. I’d love to do a euphorics review in the future. I agree that it’s going to grow quite a bit. That’s so cool that you’re making your own, especially with foraged local ingredients. I bet they’re amazing, I’d love to try something like that some time. Cheers!
@@TheWeePearlI can’t wait until you do a complete euphorics line of every euphorics review (there’s seltzers now, and a few other styles as well I’ve seen too!
Great video! love these alternatives. For people to be aware though "angostura bitters" contains alcohol so if you're strictly alcohol free, leave it out.
What a great, helpful and informative video WeePearl, thank you! Last January I considered buying some of the Monday non-alc spirits but the online reviews said they were horrible. But I'm ready to try the gin along with the other spirits you endorsed since, after decades of drinking, I've had it with the "morning after blues" which I never want to experience again. I'm even considering selling my extensive BTAC and scotch collection... :) Thanks again!
Thank you so much! Monday came out with a mezcal recently that I fully endorse. The morning after blues are the pits and definitely don’t get better with age… or kids lol. These don’t fully replicate the flavors of alcohol, but with fine tweaks they are quite enjoyable. I’m sure your collection will fetch a good price. Cheers!
So great to see your wonderful face!! Much nicer than Rob’s face. 😂 Great video for Dry January. Though the only thing dry on my bar is the vermouth. Happy New Year!
As a former buyer, I was absolutely shocked at the prices of these when my reps presented them. But honestly totally essential if you're gonna have a good non-alc cocktail program.
@@TheWeePearl Thanks for the reply! Your channel is ridiculously aesthetically pleasing in addition to being highly educational. You were a great inspiration the last time I was building a cocktail menu. Keep up the great work!
As someone who enjoys full alcohol spirits and beer very moderately on weekends and more heavy on special occasions I find a low abv spirit is much more enjoyable than n/a. So say an n/a beer is .5 and most full abv beers are on average 5% I'd say that for a spirit of 40-50% I like to make my own, I add enough vodka, you can use everclear in the US but please use less and use a calculator and don't change if if you are sober or abstinent, but I like to make my low abv spirit a very precise 5% abv so there's a bit of alcohol and body, mainly body. It will not emulate a burn on the way down and or a tingle on the tongue but you can use crushed peppercorn and chilli for that. Something I'd really love to play with more for sure. I absolutely love making a whisky sour or old fashion on my weeknights but only have a "microdose" of alcohol in each drink. It's quite good. If you drink on occasion I reccomend it. I should add, I didn't clear this up but I would buy a 6-ct of each style, lyres london dry sprit, seedlip etc and pour all 4,2lt into my 7,2lt stockpot. Cleaned and sanitised, cause there is no room for error on this one. There isn't enough abv to rid of any bacteria's. But if my calculations are correct i'd add 7.5ml per litre of 100% abv spirit. I'll let you calculate that depending on the abv of the vodka you chose and that'll get very close to 5% just devide, multiply and subtract etc etc etc.
YES that is a stain on my shirt if you’ve noticed. We were in the middle of also making a fresh batch of Nisha’s @rainbowplantlife delicious vegan red lentil curry which you MUST try it’s so so good and totally worth staining your favorite shirt with. No regrets. 😋
That is awesome! No judging here. I have toddler snot and food grime on me and I go out in public and I probably look ridiculous, because I am not aware of it either. 😂
Great video! And nice to finally see you in front of the camera! Coming from someone else who does faceless videos! 😝 That’s quite the collection! What’s the shelf life of those bottles? I had found a local zero proof spirit but it was quite expensive and had to be consumed within 3 months ..so I didn’t buy it :(
Haha! It felt like it was finally time to introduce myself. The ones that need to be refrigerated usually last 3 months, but the shelf stable ones are 6+ months. They certainly aren’t cheap! But they are becoming more widely available, at least in the U.S. I believe ritual ships to Canada and it has a pretty long shelf life. I have a discount code for 10% off (THEWEEPEARL)
@@TheWeePearl thanks! I will eventually explore them more.. last year I had started a MocktailMondays feature on my channel but only got around to making two! haha.. I'll need to fix that in 2022
Great reviews and information. I don't drink alcohol, never have, and recently thought about enjoying some mocktails. Two questions. First, I watched your brandied cherries video. What zero-proof item would be best to make brandied cherries? Second, what would be best to make zero-proof peach schnapps? The Seedlip? Grove or Spice? Something cometely different? Thanks so much!
Hello! You might try making the cherries using a whiskey alternative. Spiritless has a cinnamon flavored non alcoholic spirit that you can steep the cherries in. As for the peach schnapps, you might want to try to create it yourself by clarifying peach juice and “seasoning” it with simple syrup and a mix of malic and tartaric acid. I’ve made a zero proof triple sec in a similar way. I’d recommend to watch that video for reference. Great ideas though! I’d love to hear how they turn out!
I would also like the non-alcoholic version of Campari. Negronis are one of my favorite cockatils and I'd like to recreate an alcohol-free version. Thank you!
Loving your content! ❤ Just FYI, watch out for cloudy drinks from factory because of "bloom" in the hydrosol/distillate (2:41 minutes timestamp) "Non-alcoholic Gin and spirits" by Art of Drink channel
Hmm- that’s a great question. From this line up I really like the ritual tequila, ghia aperitif and the spiritless 74 whiskey. I’m going to do another video on these kinds spirits in the next few months. There are so many new N/A spirits to try. I hope you will check it out 😊
I wish these beverages had more of a presence in my area of upstate New York. I’m an alcoholic, and I’ve been sober for almost 6 1/2 years. I came here, to this video from a TikTok talking about “zero proof” alcohol. I didn’t think it could be possible.my biggest worry is that I would taste it, and want to drink real alcohol again
My way of doing it is to buy my favorite full alcohol whiskey (Johnny Walker Platinum) put it in a cooking pot, take it outside in the middle of a parking lot, make sure you have a lid and a fire extinguisher, then set that sob ablaze. Just let it go until it burns itself out. After that you have a zero alcohol whiskey that tastes better if anything.
I just found your channel recently as I’ve been doing a deep dive into the world of zero proof cocktails. A few years ago I had to stop drinking due to health issues, and thought my love of complex cocktails was just going to have to be let go. But the NA spirit world is getting so strong, I’m so excited with how many amazing options there are now. I WOULD LOVE to see a video on how you made your NA Campari. I adore Campari and really miss it. There are some really nice zero proof aperitifs that I enjoy, but none of them have been a great substitute in my favorite Campari cocktails. Thanks for sharing so much low/no content in with your other cocktail videos!
Hey Cristianna! So happy to have you here! The N/A cocktail game is really having a moment! Every time I set foot in my local n/a shop there’s something new. I plan on remaking my n/a Campari video soon, I needed to alter it a bit since some of the ingredients I used were inaccessible, and if sourced incorrectly could be harmful. I do have a recipe on my website for it www.theweepearl.com/recipes/nonalcoholiccampari
I've not really delved into zero proof alternatives, as I had one that was just awful and wrote them all off, but the reverse distillation of the Kentucky 74 sounds interesting. I wonder if you took an aged spirit and reverse distilled it, would you be able to get a "truer" taste rather than relying on botanicals to mimic the taste...
That’s an interesting idea. I believe the spirit that they make before reverse distilling is extremely tannic with exaggerated whiskey notes. An aged spirit might be too mellow to extract flavors from, though if they can do it for wine, why not whiskey?!
Hi! I actually did make a video on it. Check it out. How I Made Campari From Scratch Recipe (Non-Alcoholic Version) ua-cam.com/video/rKnQNtJN490/v-deo.html
I'm looking for an NA super bitter, super funky, super vegetal botanical herbal liqueur situation. Do you have any recommendations since the filming of this video? Think Chartreuse, Cynar, Fernet, Genepy, etc....
Checkout the pathfinder. Otherwise I haven’t found anything else in that herbal category. Vera makes an herbal aperitivo that somewhat fits the bill. I’m reviewing it for my next video.
Thanks for this video! I really love the idea of mixing without alcohol. However, I recently bought my first zero proof spirit (the ritual gin) and have found it pretty nasty, tasting quite chemical and reminding me of vinegar. It still turned me off in cocktails, though that was a little better. Is it worth trying more of these spirits?
More specifically, does anyone know what production style the Ritual Gin is made with, so I can avoid it? I feel like it's something in the base flavor, not the botanicals, which bothers me.
Hey Gabriel! Thanks for watching 😊. I believe ritual is made by blending essences with water and citric acid (which is that off putting taste you described). I certainly don’t advise drinking these straight. They really do need to be mixed. Even the best of them require a mixer of some kind. I agree that Ritual Gin is probably the weakest in their line. I really enjoy their rum and tequila! I think Monday gin is the best one I’ve tried to date. It meets more of those classic gin notes than most. Some people find it to be bitter, but it works really nice in a gimlet- though I would scale back a bit on the line cordial. Without the bite from alcohol, n/a drinks tend to taste sweeter.
What a great question. There’s actually a few non alcoholic bars that are doing pretty well. Not sure if they can get away with the same markups as bars that serve alcohol though. It’s also not typical to binge drink non alcoholic cocktails so they likely don’t spend as much. I guess it depends on where it is, but I don’t think they’d make as much as a cocktail bar. I think one would do great where wellness trends have taken hold.
I've just discovered your channel and truly appreciate this video! Really looking forward to trying a few of these. With the holidays approaching, where can I find your Coquito recipe?

Thank you so much for making a video of reviewing these non alcoholic spirits. I always feel so left out at gatherings, as i am 7 years sober. Also me and my fiance are getting married this december and i am looking for alternatives for myself.
Congratulations! There are wonderful NA sparkling wines from Noughty and Studio Null that I would highly recommend.
Cheers!
This is such a helpful video! Thank you
You’re so welcome I’m glad it was helpful!
I have a stomach ulcer and cant have alcohol so this is a game changer for me being a hard whiskey guy
Great video here!! Thanks for the info
Love all these dif drinks. Very cool they can give someone the feel they are still doing their thing. Another awesome video! Great work, sis!
Thank you! They’re certainly more special than your typical cranberry and seltzer. Thanks for your support!
I am looking forward to trying a zero proof spirit
Great! I hope this video was helpful to you
Really good video, would love to see more of these, I find NA spirits can be very hit and miss.
Thank you! My next video is another n/a spirits review! Stay tuned!
Love your review. How would you use seedlip grove?
Thanks! I used it in my milk punch video ua-cam.com/video/X17NxjRPeb4/v-deo.html
But it’s also great with ginger beer and a squeeze of lemon
Slightly insulted but also agree 😝
@@RobsHomeBar 😂
Aw thanks Vino! It was less nerve wracking being on camera than I thought. Happy New Year! @rob’s home bar - don’t listen to him. You’re beautiful!
@@TheWeePearl :) yay!
I'd love to see you do a Lyre's tasting too!
I’ve been curious about their line. I will plan on doing a tasting. Thanks for the suggestion
As a former buyer, I was absolutely shocked at the prices of these when my reps presented them. But honestly totally essential if you're gonna have a good non-alc cocktail program.
Yes- they are quite expensive! I do agree- if you want to have interesting n/a drinks (without too much production) they are essential!
@@TheWeePearl Thanks for the reply! Your channel is ridiculously aesthetically pleasing in addition to being highly educational. You were a great inspiration the last time I was building a cocktail menu. Keep up the great work!
Great video! Could you share which ones need to be refrigerated? Thanks!
Doing no drink november so I'm excited
Love that! What’s your go to?
I keep sending this link to people who know nothing about zer proof spirits. well done. i am though still waiting for the home made campari video :)
Hey thank you so much! I will be uploading it soon! I just needed to tweak the recipe a bit. Cheers!
We can't wait to make it over the water to the US so you can try our non-alcoholic spirits!
I would love to! I'll be keeping an eye out :)
@@iangoodisDMX haha! There was definitely some toddler snot in the mix too lol
I love her voice!
Me too. Im watching it for the second time- it’s like ASMR..
Great video! And nice to finally see you in front of the camera! Coming from someone else who does faceless videos! 😝
That’s quite the collection!
We ❤️ the NYC vibe
There she is, ill reiterate what Vino said, I wish Rob had stayed behind his gopro lol
I'm crying inside
Hahaha! You guys are too funny. It felt like the right time to introduce myself.
Oh and I didn’t know Kentucky 74 was women owned! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💪🏼 Love it.
Right?! So cool
I would also like the non-alcoholic version of Campari. Negronis are one of my favorite cockatils and I'd like to recreate an alcohol-free version. Thank you!
I had to make a few tweaks to the recipe & video. Should be ready to post soon! In the meantime, I have the recipe on my website theweepearl.com
This is wild! I had no idea there was such a huge selection! I haven't drank for years, but man of I miss the flavor sometimes
There are soooo many! They are getting better and better too, but there’s still a ways to go to truly replicate the flavor.
The biggest one I’ve seen missing is Lyre’s! One of my favorites, especially their rum. I’ve liked them better than seed lip personally
Thank you for such an informative video! I was wondering if you had ever tried the brand “Amass”. I would love to get your thoughts on them sometime!
I haven’t yet, but I’ve heard excellent things from a fellow bartender who really knows her stuff. I’ll be giving it a try soon and report back.
This video is awesome 👌 where can I buy these non alcoholic beverages from?
Hello! I get most of them from Boisson! You can order from them online too
@@TheWeePearl thank you. I found a few at the local grocery stores. I'm so excited to try them. Thanks for your help 👍
Very beautiful and good review- how can I make non alcoholic creme de cacao that won't taste like chocolate milk?
Would love to see your recipe for non alcoholic Campari. 🙂

Loving your content! ❤ Just FYI, watch out for cloudy drinks from factory because of "bloom" in the hydrosol/distillate (2:41 minutes timestamp) "Non-alcoholic Gin and spirits" by Art of Drink channel
@The Wee Pearl So many of these sound amazing. What ones do you think would be your top 3 or most versatile ?
I just tried NLL gin, it's okay.... but I love the Amass one in the green bottle
Love Amass! I actually review it in my 2023 NA review video. I haven’t tried NLL yet. My new favorite is Dhos
I just ordered two bottles. To try some mixed drinks
Nice! I hope you like them!
yes I HAVE had couple of drinks tonight , officer. ready for my side of the road plank walk , and turn your strobes on too :)
🙃
Hi I'm Marco I can't see a campari homemade analcolic, I'm very curious about it. Is possible to have a recipe!?
Hi Marco! I needed to make a quick edit to the video. It will be posted soon. In the meantime you can find my recipe on theweepearl.com
If you had to pick between Kin Dreamlight and Three Spirit Nightcap, which would you pick?
3 spirit. I like the flavor more.
I do have a recipe on my website for it
www.theweepearl.com/recipes/nonalcoholiccampari
@@TheWeePearl I started my glycerine tincture for step one of the recipe on Saturday! Now to be patient until it’s ready
@@crispianna so cool! I will have the revised video up soon :)
@@TheWeePearl now all I need is a very obliging distillery to let me experiment with their whiskey!!
Commenting to say, really want to see how you made your Campari
Hi! I actually did make a video on it. Check it out. How I Made Campari From Scratch Recipe (Non-Alcoholic Version)
ua-cam.com/video/rKnQNtJN490/v-deo.html
Thanks so much!
NA Campari vid please!
👍🏻 let's go!!
Do any of the non-alcoholic spirits have to be refrigerated after opening?
Some of them do need to be refrigerated, but many don’t and last up to 6 months after opening
Nice
what zero proof spirit I can use to make margarita?
I really like the ritual tequila or monday mezcal, Dhos orange liqueur, some lime juice and a touch of agave will give you an excellent margarita
Please please video of alcohol free aperol !!???
Hopefully soon!!
So this is just flavor without the buzz?
Aren't Angostura bitters super high alcohol content?
Yes, but by volume the cocktail itself is under .5 abv which is considered non alcoholic.
Do any of these give you a “buzz”
The euphoric do! They also make cannabis spirits that will- though I haven’t tried any
Hey there, Please check out a brand from the UK called Everleaf. They are amazing
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll look around for some. Cheers!
@@TheWeePearl I’m sure we can get some to you soon!
Do you think someone could open a non-academic bar and if so do you think it make as much money as a classic bar ?
What a great question. There’s actually a few non alcoholic bars that are doing pretty well. Not sure if they can get away with the same markups as bars that serve alcohol though. It’s also not typical to binge drink non alcoholic cocktails so they likely don’t spend as much. I guess it depends on where it is, but I don’t think they’d make as much as a cocktail bar. I think one would do great where wellness trends have taken hold.
I've just discovered your channel and truly appreciate this video! Really looking forward to trying a few of these. With the holidays approaching, where can I find your Coquito recipe?
I like near beer but I've not had fake booze. I don't like fake flavours like Palm Bay.
