Sadly, productions that are not of American origin are better at portraying the near palpable tension than American films. Luckily, I LOVE reading subtitles. I care little for dubbing. A good TV series example is Merli (Pol and Bruno), a Catanese production. It's just so . . . Ohhh! 👏😊😭🙌

Just make love the norm, and let characters fall in love with each other naturally. It’s like on 9-1-1, Buck and Eddie would have been together if one was a woman. Really don't understand why so many writers/film makers have to make lgbt shows with not just sad but tragic ending. Yes. Yes. We get it. Life is cruel. Life is rough. But sometimes, a little refuge is good for the soul. It's not enough that one of the lovers is killed by homophobic men, ie Brokeback Mountain. Some of these lovers are killed by their own homophobic lovers ... the very worst of the kind. Can never rewatch this movie. If film makers remotely desire their film to be seen even once, much less get on the rewatch list, why go out of their way to make it tough for most to stomach a rewatch?

Having watched this whole movie, I can tell you, it’s so excellent! The portrayal of this deep love is incredible. But it’s also one of the most heart-wrenching films I’ve ever seen. Still, the love is so beautiful, albeit turned tragic. Homophobes suck.
I´d like that movie, gorgeous characters and relatable tensions and struggles at least for those like me who came from a small town to make it in the big city and back again, but the end, this F***** end.

I get what you're saying but most gay themed movies with happy endings don't really have as much of an impact as one with extreme consequences. Here are some recommendations: If you want that good spirited happy ending watch All Over The Guy, it's a light dramatic comedy that'll have u smiling at the end. If you prefer something more raw and realistic, try God's Own Country... or my personal favorite, Undertow (Contra Corriente). This movie has some strong life lessons and a good twist that will get you in the feels every time.
I normally don't think much of who I consider to be my favorite actress, but every time Sandra Bullock comes out with a new movie or does an interview, I find myself saying it's her.

Every time I watch one of your great episodes and go look up the movie, it's usually (not always but usually) more gay tragedy where the boy doesn't end up with the boy at the end. I realised today (after finishing the movie, literally 5 min ago) that the movie I was searching for was God's Own country, a very one very similar to Land of Storms and the one I confused with Land of Storms. So tomorrow I will watch the first one. Land of Storms is not bad, there are better movies of this thematic, of course, but its not bad (especially the relationship between the two main characters and the interpretation of Aron's actor). But there I think the film could be much better, honestly.

He picks the new guy. In the last scene of this video you can see the ex boyfriend walking away while the main character chooses to stay with his new boyfriend. The whole movie has been nice so far with the duo repairing an abandoned house the main character inherited and bonding along the way. The town its set in is quite rural and homophobic. The new guy is struggling with his sexual idenity and dealing with homophobic comments from his single mother and community. The last scene is the main character trying to comfort his new boyfriend over his mother being hospitalised. Things start to get steamy but then the main character freezes and it zooms out to show that he's been stabbed. He falls over and his boyfriend is shown running away abandoning him to bleed out. Apparently the movie is based off a true story where a guy murdered two gay men. Decent cliche movie of city gay moving to a rural town and finding a relationship with guy unsure his sexuality. Horrific ending though.

He ran away crying inside in denial from himself when he learned and realized the truth at that point in time with the "relief" of blaming others of how he turned out and then he stopped from rushing and looked back and saw the brewing storm of emotional upsets from loss and grief in unpredictable progression: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance - bewildered of which came first. Yet, there is no rest for the undead that he is!

Just watched the movie. I'm shocked. It was so brilliant, and the ending killed me. The characters were beautifully written, the plot was excellent, and the ending, albeit shocking, made total sense within the broader context. 10/10 (-1 for adding additional trauma to my life 😂)
very powerful...men i suppose observe more, wait for action, and dont talk about much (such a different world than women's!)...it s more obscure, confusing, deeply emotional, and each man is left to his own interpretation really. if ur not empathetic, u wont understand what these men go through, what explosive feelings they have-much harder to deal with than physical abuse or violence. sometimes, it's just too overwhelming ...and culture takes over. never underestimate what same-sex lovers go through.
as a hungarian person, I can say, that there ARE places in this tiny tiny country where this thing could and still can actually happen. this is still not a happy place to be gay until this day.

Whooooaa i just finished watching that I really really liked it the ending is shocking 😐 😳 whoooaaa I never thought that will be the ending sheet.
He ran away crying inside in denial from himself when he learned and realized the truth at that point in time with the "relief" of blaming others of how he turned out and then he stopped from rushing and looked back and saw the brewing storm of emotional upsets from loss and grief in unpredictable progression: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance - bewildered of which came first. Yet, there is no rest for the undead that he is!

Just watched the movie. I'm shocked. It was so brilliant, and the ending killed me. The characters were beautifully written, the plot was excellent, and the ending, albeit shocking, made total sense within the broader context. 10/10 (-1 for adding additional trauma to my life 😂)

very powerful...men i suppose observe more, wait for action, and dont talk about much (such a different world than women's!)...it s more obscure, confusing, deeply emotional, and each man is left to his own interpretation really. if ur not empathetic, u wont understand what these men go through, what explosive feelings they have-much harder to deal with than physical abuse or violence. sometimes, it's just too overwhelming ...and culture takes over. never underestimate what same-sex lovers go through.

as a hungarian person, I can say, that there ARE places in this tiny tiny country where this thing could and still can actually happen. this is still not a happy place to be gay until this day.
@@mynameisvampka Unfortunately, even in less homophobic countries, those things can happen. But that doesn't mean those stories need to be the only ones told. Tragedy shouldn't be the obvious outcome to stories about gay people.
