I wouldn't call the design on a gun where the frame cracks with anything but the lowest power ammo options available "phenomenal".

I have one of the original, blue, thin-slides. Like so many others, the thin, aluminum strip on my slide cracked.
Beretta would not repair or replace because the gun was way out of warranty. They did offer to sell me a new thick-slide version for cost.
I like the thin-slide. It is accurate and fits a Crimson Trace grip-laser.
I decided to keep it and simply did the relief cut on the crack area. It functions great - no issues. I love this gun.

Thanks for watching. I am with you on the thin slide tomcats. They are easier to carry and have an old school charm that the new ones don't have. I guess I like them all but the older ones have more character.

@@gillysguns9244 Agree. I have had both, but got rid of my INOX thick-slide because I had to send it back to Beretta twice to address barrel-release problems. Plus, I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with it.
With the Crimson Trace laser, the thin-slide TomCat is really quite accurate and just plain fun to shoot.

I used to pocket carry a Tomcat as a backup about 20 years ago, but to be honest, I didn't really like it that much. Nothing against the .32 ACP (if it's good enough to kill Hitler, it's good enough for me), but I don't generally like DA/SA guns, I didn't really like its recoil impulse, and on mine at least, the ejection pattern went straight back up over my head. After getting my scalp burned one too many times from hot brass, I sold it (it has been the only handgun I have ever gotten rid of), and used the funds to buy an NAA Guardian in .32 ACP, a platform I like much better and still have to this day. The tip up barrel is what initially attracted me to the Tomcat, but I found in practice that it was not a super practical feature for defensive reloads. Fortunately, it went to a loving home that appreciated it for what it was

I had a Tomcat many years ago but I sold it to my friend who is a Police Officer and he used it as a Ankle Gun. I was recently going to buy another one a few months ago but I changed my mind because of the High Price of 32 ACP Ammo, so I decided on the Beretta Bob Cat instead. Mine stays mostly in the safe but I always carry my kel-tec P32 as a backup or primary in a pinch. It so much lighter and almost as accurate at 15 yards. I bought every box of 25 & 32ACP ammo I saw from Walmart when they put all of their handgun ammo on close out sale. Prices were $11 later $6 per box of 50. My local store sells 25ACP 50rd box @ $42, I would imagine 32ACP would sell in the same ballpark. I don’t shoot much 32 these days but shoot 22lr in my Bobcat and Lcp 22 for practice several times a month to retain my mouse gun skill set sharp. I always shoot at 15 yards because anything closer is a guaranteed good hit and no challenge.

I used to own a .32 ACP Beretta Tomcat back in the 2000s. While it was small, it was thick, heavy, and clunky. It did not feel comfortable as a pocket pistol. The other problem was that it was a used Tomcat that I purchased. I visited an indoor pistol range. The Tomcat jammed on the first magazine. Whoever originally owned this Tomcat pistol instead of getting the pistol repaired, simply passed it on to the next person by selling it to the gun store.
I returned the Tomcat to the gun and they repaired it, no questions asked. But I shortly later traded the Tomcat in for a Taurus .357 magnum revolver.

@@gillysguns9244 The P32 Kel Tec is what you should look at. It's about the same size as the Tomcat, perhaps a tad larger. It weighs only 7.5 ounces unloaded, compared to the Tomcat's 15 ounces. The Kel Tec P32 also has a slim profile compared to the Tomcat.
I wanted a P32 but it is not authorized for sale in California because it does not have a safety. I then went for the smaller, highly-acclaimed, high-quality, LW Seecamp pistol, which costs much more and weighs 11.5 ounces empty. The Seecamp is the smallest .32 ACP semi-auto pistol in the world. Still, it feels heavy in my hand because it is all stainless steel. It would be nice if it was a several ounces lighter. Still, I'm happy with it. The LW Seecamp is truly a pocket pistol. Unlike the anemic .25 ACP, the .32 ACP especially in hollow point, offers credibly better stopping power.

I use round nose FMJ and never concern myself with the potential for rim lock because the round nose pretty much fills the magazine. It is the flat points (WWB) or hollow points that are shorter that have the potential for rim lock because they could shift forward in the magazine.

Shooting beer cans defeats the purpose of this gun. The Beretta is to protect you against other humans, not to aim at beer cans in their hands, so why not practice on full-height figure targets?

Grenades are for people who can't hit what they are shooting at. 😏 By the way, I didn't shoot a single beer can. I was shooting golf balls. Beer cans are 50 yard targets.

I had two slides crack in the 1980’s. I was told I shouldn’t shoot Fiocchi or Seller and Bellot 73 grain fmj. Just bought a new one in 2022. It still has the same ammo limitation. Can someone explain this to me? They beefed up the slide but it still can’t shoot reasonable ammo for self defense.

How much does it weigh? A tad heavy for a trouser pocket? Jacket pocket, sure, but anything else probably needs a holster.

Why in the world would you rinse the gun in the sink? Ive never heard of anyone rinsing a gun in a sink. How about blowing it out with compressed air and cleaning it with some kind of gun cleaner...

Thanks for watching Wyatt. The rinsing in the sink comment is just a joke with the utility carry guns. I actually prefer to clean my handguns in any ultrasonic cleaner. I then rinse them off in the sink and dry them with compressed air.😁 That just gave me an idea for a video!!! Happy shooting.

    • @gillysguns9244
      @gillysguns9244  7 місяців тому

Right now there are none in stock anywhere I normally buy. I suggest buying directly from Beretta on their website but they are out of stock too. Looks like the only mags available are pro mags. I would buy one and see how it works, then buy some more if you are satisfied with it. I haven't had much luck with promag so personally I would wait till Beretta had some in stock.
