I'm a rock 'n' roll guy, and there's literally a rock 'n' roll song titled Denim And Leather by Saxon in the early 80's. And basically, that's all I wear. No fucking white shoes either
I wear all black constantly and I don’t look like a bouncer/waiter but I always get followed by security when I’m shopping. I look like a cat burglar l guess
Accessorize. Neither looks you're trying to avoid do that, and it's an easy way to add some flare to your look. Also, since black is a neutral color, you can accessorize with any color and it doesn't clash, making it accessorizing on easy mode, as you also only need one or two accessories for them to pop. A cool necklace and like two rings can go hard with all black way easier than they can when you're working with a lot of colors.
Texture means how a fabric feels, and is often tied to how it reflects light. Silk and satin are smooth and reflect like very well, viscose is smooth and retains heat and is very reflective, denim is coarser and less reflective, corduroy is ridged and bumpy and catches light along those ridges, etc. Texture actually does have a meaning, some people just say "texture" when what they mean is "vibes". But it's a legit word with a meaning that can be a good fashion hack for neurodivergent people: if a texture is one you can't stand on your skin, go for it in a jacket or something with a lining so it's not touching your skin directly. That way you can have the cool look without being itchy for hours.
EXACTLY!! As a Product Designer who does 3D, LIGHT IS EVERYTHING! Textures, materials, Roughness, repetitions, patterns excite the TACTILE elements of our brain like "ooh I wanna touch that". EVERYTHING IS LIGHT 💧🤯💫😎
"Texture" goes beyond textured textiles. "Adding texture" is activating the part of our brain that yearns to recognize patterns. Mixing smoothness and roughness is "aesthetically pleasing" because it's giving our brain a workout for pattern recognition.
I need a “how to stay fashionable in the heat” video. I live in Florida and fashion requires layers for most good fits. YOU CAN NOT WEAR ANYTHING MORE THAN A T SHIRT AND SWIM TRUNKS.
I'm obviously not frugal but maybe focus on the fabric types? Like look for pieces and shapes that you like but maybe in more breathable and lighter weight fabrics like linen
As a Product Designer who does 3D, LIGHT IS EVERYTHING! Textures, materials, Roughness, repetitions, patterns excite the TACTILE elements of our brain like "ooh I wanna touch that". EVERYTHING IS LIGHT 💧🤯💫😎
Better yourself is a thing you do it because you wanna feel better to be comfortable with your own skin if you cant love yourself you are not ready to love someone
On texture, look at goths! There’s so many layers of texture. Lace vs silk vs latex or leather vs metal/hardware. You’re a silhouette so u wanna be a bit exaggerated in ways u think u look good in/like. I personally love a HUGE t shirt with skinny jeans and some platform shoes it’s simple yet elegant
Okay this is probably me just being a nerd but there's so many reasons to love texture, it looks interesting at different angles, it contrasts nicely with other textures, you get to think about what it feels like and most importantly it's so much fun to feel 😂
to me the texture part is what really shines when wearing all black, maybe you already know the proportions that look good on you from wearing color but mastering texture is a dif game in black. personally I hate matching textures in my top and bottom pieces it always feels like I'm wearing a pajama. I usually go to a strong or calling texture in pants and chill with the top, or in the case the pants have a boring texture I make the silhouette pop out and give a spice of tx to the top pieces. aand changing materials when the layering is visible is key too
I think a tip you forgot to include is accessories/jewelry. Accessories and jewelry really help elevate all black fits because they instantly add an eye catching element to the look.
ever since i got a nice pair of black cargos, it really opened the doors for me for how i really started to love fashion. i was just afraid for a long time about expressing myself in this way but the latter part of the video is exactly my experience with just buying black clothes. im trying out more colors and such now, but the focus on silhouette is really fun way to start out and imo helps me really take a step back and look at my outfits as whole rather than whatever looks okay with each other for a long time i just thought fashion in general was just this expensive impenetrable hobby for rich people, but it can honestly just be a ton of fun once you figure out what you want out of it. well, honestly the expensive part is still true but its also a hobby worth spending time and money on once you figure out how to enjoy it. it made me go out a lot more, it gave me reasons to go outside, it changed the way I walked and presented myself and feel good about being in something that I liked wearing and was comfortable in
One thing I usually focus on is how the details and accents go together so it doesn't look like I just wore whatever black clothes I have in my wardrobe
This would be such useful advice if I didn't wear the exact same pair of pants and jacket (black, of course) every single day regardless of the weather.
Very good advice thank you very much. Personally i stopped wearing all black and transitioned to mostly black with one contrast piece. Like all black, but a white/dark red shirt, or something like that.
I personally find the hardest part about fashion is finding where to get the best clothes, which is why i've decided to learn how to make my own clothes 😭
I'd say texture difines how the material feels to touch and what's more important is how different textures look. You can see with your eyes, that the cloth feels nice or unusual to touch - good texture
I really love your channel and your videos are hella funny! Ima a girl tho. I like the silhouettes you talk about and feel BADASS in them. However, I think talking more about the more feminine side of fashion/proportions could be beneficial as there is more flexibility ( In my opinion) in fashion for women. And even more endless opportunities when you mix both. ALSOOO what about the girls who wanna "better themselves" (aka attract love interests) LMAO. These are just suggestions if you want to try out something new. I think a lot of fashion channels tend to focus on either the women's or men's side of fashion. It's not necessary tho I still enjoy watching your vids and there are plenty of female fashion UA-camrs out there:) I've been watching this channel since the pandemic and your videos always brighten up my day. 2024 GAME TIME.
ALSO I think what gets me is when I do an all-black fit and it's not all the same shade it feels like I'm wearing black and GREY. but when it is the same color and especially if it doesn't have shape I FEEL LIKE A SERVER or just a black orb walking around.
I get your point. I mean, this dude is so funny and cool, the way he talks, and so thorough about his thing, like a true savant. So it's the particular person why you, as a woman, are truly interested in hearing his takes on female fashion as well as the usual stuff. I mean, he's already pulling in some crowd like you, despite talking about male fashion. So it's the way he sees things. That's his charm. And hearing whatever he has to say about your world inside fashion would be engaging, for sure. My point is, I support you, as a man who likes this channel by itself and as a channel dedicated to male fashion, as I've always had the impression that there was not much love and dedication to us men in fashion until recent times. Even so, I agree that it would be cool if we all had a place to discuss and share and enjoy in here. For now, I think the good thing is that many of these principles and rules explained in here through all of his content can be very well extrapolated to female fashion. Let's wait and see.
@@Mariamya23 About this one, maybe it's a matter of textures, right? When you wear just one tone of black, I mean. It's logical that if you use the same fabric or two fabrics with about the same texture, it gives that black orb or void person effect. Idrk, tho. I'm kinda learning and curating myself, at least in my own head, bc my means on the outside are quite limited rn. Greeting from a fella in Venezuela.
