Sorry for the wall of text here but I thought I'd reply lol. Also, find something that really stands out to you, don't just buy a ring to have a ring, buy it because it speaks to you personally.

Ok, not gonna lie. The shit with the rings was funny. xD I'm guilty of a damn list of things. Rope wristbands, necklaces, black rings, and wallet chain. I also change out my earrings now and then. I've also gotten into the "healing" beads. Like right now it's Black Obsidian with Tigers eye and Black Onyx. I usually wear A LOT of black. Most of my accessories are via Etsy now a days.
Wear what you like. DONT wear everything you like at the same time. Accessories should be worn to compliment what you wear in a way that stands out when you notice, but doesn't distract. (I noticed gold looks good on black people as well. Why you roasting copper tho?)
I rarely ever wear jewellery because it's incovenient, gets stuck in things, makes it difficult to wear gloves, etc, but on the rare occasion that I do, I know exactly what to wear and in what combination, because at this point I've already built a collection. Most of it is cheap stuff from H&M, thrift stores, flee markets, etc, but a few pieces are higher quality stuff. I prefer golden jewellery but I'm also not afraid to mix gold and silver. What I always wear is my wrist watch with golden metals and brown leather strap, a brown leather belt with brass buckle, a very small silver necklace, small gold plated earrings, and a silvery (titanium) lip ring piercing. That's like the baseline, most of which I don't ever even take off, except the watch and belt. But on rare occasion I'll add more stuff. That's usually gonna be some brass rings (especially my snake and spider rings), a plain but kinda gaudy golden link bracelet, a long brass necklace that has a kinda layered look to it, and a wine red pearl necklace. That last piece is one of my favorites, even though it's some cheap plastic trash, because it's so unusual, and wine red is one of my favorite accent colors which also goes really well with gold. I will typically only wear that with a more fancy outfit though, like a 3-piece suit or waistcoat. Whenever I wear some super feminine jewellery like a pearl necklace I kinda feel a need to balance it out with some undeniably masculine clothing ensemble so it doesn't look like I'm trying to do drag. I love brass because it's a cheap goldeny metal plus can look trashy in a kinda cool, steampunk way, but the problem with brass is that it'll turn your skin green. This means I can't wear brass jewellery every day, because my frigging hand sweat slowly erodes the material plus it's probably not healthy to basically consume that erosion through your skin on a daily basis. So I tend to wear my brass jewellery sparingly. About copper though: I actually like the look of it, especially in combination with brass. Probably because I just in general like wearing a lot of brown. I use brown as my base color instead of black. So most of my jackets, shoes, belts, etc are brown. I get that some people think brown is a boring color, but I think it's underrated. By your logic (that copper is basically just brown) then silver is basically just gray and gold is basically just yellow. Yet we all love these metals, because regardless of what color they "basically are" they're shiny, and people like shiny stuff.
I've always hated on people mixing metals but I never realized how over time my ear piercing jewellry got mixed up in an unapologetical cruel ensenble of silver vintage earrings my aunt wore in the 80s and 2017 tumblr rose gold stuff.
