I agree about the leather straps changed to the nylon straps and clicktabs, I've been eyeballing that pack and the Allagash pack, just trying to come up with the money to make the buy.

I have owned one of their medium sized packs for the past 6 years, and I use it for hiking, flyfishing, and air travel. It's build is top quality, and the prices are reasonable. The fact that you can customize yours makes it a gem. Check them out.

They are holding up fine....The pack has been on 2 continents and through jungles, mountains and cities I carry it everyday and it is just as good as day one..

Nice video. Are you still happy with this ruck? I am looking at this model vs a Narrow Gauge, which is similar but does not have the front pocket on the outside of the pack. I am concerned about potential zipper failure on the front pocket. What are your thoughts? Also, do you think there's much benefit to the heavier weight 18 oz fabric? Finally, why did you want lash straps on the inside of the top flap? Thanks!

Very going on 9 years and still perfect, zippers are high quality, Jane will gladly do custom work if you shoot her an email or phone call so u can add pockets. The lash strap locations add some versatility and give me options to carry shelter and sleep system on the outside of the pack… I.e. bedroll, tent, sleeping bag 3 lash locations

Hey man any updates on this bag? How's it holding up? Debating between this pack and the Fjallraven Rucksack Large

ThePhatWabbit going strong for years now a great investment and much better value then Fjalraven been through numerous adventures and shows almost no wear. I would absolutely advise to get the pack setup like mine, except I would add the inside zipper pocket.

Jungle Bum Hey thanks for the reply. I'm probably gonna skip the flap pocket and install a laptop sleeve instead. Cheers

ThePhatWabbit definitely take the time to wax it using otter wax. Wax both sides of the top flap and the bottom twice. I was caught in an actual Typhoon in south East Asia, Just ungodly amounts of rain and my gear stayed dry. Worth the time and effort for sure.
