I’m a retired woman now but I learned soooo much from my father about how to be a good human being…my father was a farmer and a hardworking honest man and all the good in me I learned from him. Sometimes I think I am more of a man than my brother because I LISTENED to my father! You guys are SPOT ON with what changed❤ This is so refreshing to see now. You give me hope. THANK YOU ❤❤❤for sharing this video. It is needed. This is also what is in my heart too… this is what my father taught me about too…. I believe it’s our FOUNDATIONAL spirit and we all need to hang on to it in order to balance our lives. Thanks again for bringing this out in the airwaves ❤❤❤😇 just remember Jesus said that when we run into the hard stuff remember that they hate him first and he took it for us so if we’re getting rough combats, that’s just Jesus at work. You guys are doing a great job.😊

Great video. I really enjoyed listening to it. Unfortunately, I grew up without a dad, and life has been an uphill battle for me. I was the kid who got beat up, picked on, and never fit in. I was a loner as I grew up, and don’t have any friends. I feel empty inside not having a dad, or positive male influence to ask questions to. I feel like I have missed out on a lot in life when it comes to man stuff. Thank you for your talk, and giving me some great advice. Keep up the good work.

"You're not gonna respect yourself if you are not respectable... if you don’t respect yourself, you won't respect others around you, and if you don't respect others around you, you won't respect yourself - they go hand-in-hand."
I believe Dwayne hit a homerun with that phrase, and I can personally attest to the TRUTH of that statement in my own life, because I have lived it, and I am on a journey of trying to better myself and my character so that I can not only be a better man to myself, to my family and friends, to the world at large.

I have been following you on FB for a bit but never watched one of the videos before today. I thought this sounded like it could be a great video but I was also a little bit afraid of the kind of conversation this might be. I think men and women are very different in so many ways and we are often very confused by the other but I also think that "real men" show vulnerability and have deep, thoughtful conversations and aren't afraid to cry when they are strong leaders, not the opposite. I thought this was a fantastic conversation to be a fly on the wall for and, in so many ways, it applies to simply being a good human, not just a man. As a woman, I think a lot about character and what that means in life and I have really been thinking so much lately about feelings and how hard it is not to immediately act on them when the going gets tough and you just want to do the easy thing to satisfying your immediate cravings so you can "feel better" and/or make the hard feelings go away. Also thinking about how that applies to marriage over the long term as well. So I was really floored to hear y'all discussing that very idea! I definitely was NOT expecting that when I clicked play. If being a real man means leading by example, being compassionate and being able to include everyone, more than just your "traditional" gender, in your conversations, then y'all are doing an amazing job in my book!

There wasn't a false word spoken, but my weakness makes me feel I will never meet these standards for a "good man". I have felt this way for a while, and I have more or less decided was that I would stay away from society as much as possible. Not so much for my sake, but to reduce the negative affect on others around me. I know I could go have friends and try to have relationships with people, but it would inevitably only cause pain and unnecessary heartache when I end up being me.

When I moved out of my parents house at eighteen I was too proud to ask for help with money, or even beef or raw milk from my parent’s farm (they aren’t well off either, although now they’re stable financially). It got to the point that I had nothing to eat but watercress from a cow pasture and ranch dressing. It’s kept me humble and taught me to never be that broke again. I’ll take any morally acceptable job to keep from that level of being broke.

Though when a man says this is just how I am, this is my temper and I can’t change it but I can control it. He is deciding that temper to always be there, as well as the control. You may choose for the temper to not be there but that’s a major mind shift. We are who we think we are.

I grew up in the 60's. Women my age were hood winked--an intire generation lost. I try to do what needs to be done because men are not men anymore. I've never found the Marlbrough man mixed with a good measure of McClintock and a little Jimmy Stewart thrown in. I am a retired nurse and I use to tell my nursing friends, "You can keep your interns, give me a man with a yellow pencil behind his ear with the intent of using it!"

This coddle thing has happened to every kid in this country, most have no respect for themselves let alone anyone else. Society has let down our own children, values have become a joke to younger generations. It’s heartbreaking to see what we have become.

I think your channel is great I'm sorry some of the comments have been disrespectful. I see it as a trend these days, people are doing this on almost all the channels where somebody is saying good things. Evil always attacks good. Obviously I'm not talking about people who just respectfully disagree.

  • @John.bww03

For me a big reason why I take all these negative internet comments so seriously is because I can't understand why people are this mean completely unnecessarily. I just completely can't comprehend why so instead of judging them I'm always putting it on me thinking maybe they're right and I'm judging me too because I'm thinking of them too high because of this core lack of understandment of how a person can be like this. I really can't feel myself inside people with such a behavior I just completely don't get it. And that's what's making me very insecure because it feels so injustice, and makes me doubt myself until I go crazy.

Happiness comes from how you feel. Joy comes from a faith in God. Character is what you are when no one is looking. From what hear, this stuff applies to women also.

You two guys are what this country is based on , I'm a year older than Dwayne but yall are what is called young old men by the old timers. Have rode horses brought in off wheat pastures to get started again, only real men know what it's like to get on a pony like caliber, you're the most alive you'll ever be and the closest to the lord in my opinion

All young men are a product of their environments. An emotionally stable and secure two parent family with good moral’s, values and virtues combined with foundational stoic wisdom being utilized in their home schooling creates a strong sense of self worth and a yearning for discovery of their own vision, mission and purpose in life. Young men need strong morally principled masculine role models and mentors to rely upon for the life experience, earned wisdom and virtuous attributes they possess and live their live by as a guiding light to anchor and model themselves after on their journey.

You don’t have to be a cowboy to be sexy. But it helps. 😂. I have great hair so a cowboy hat is not necessary. I know what sexy is. It’s doing dishes and changing diapers. Just don’t step over your clutter as you pass by. Pick it up.. talk and communicate with your spouse, tell them your needs. Communication is a necessary ❤

God bless you both, success has nothing to do with money
What ever got us to this place ? But don’t assume your always above correction. Arrogance doesn’t look good on a real cowboy
From an old colt man that has made more than his share of mistakes 😊
