    Yes... Various people have taken on the role of being the main competition to Valentino, not many have succeeded. Stoner did, but he's retired - Vale is still there. Now it's M&M. Marc is kinda now, what Rossi was 13 or 12 years ago. Vale might no longer be the top man, the one to beat, but he's still damn close, and he is the best of the rest. I am an Australian and a Stoner fan, so when they went head to head I backed Casey. But I was a Rossi fan long before that, and I still am. I don't expect to see the GOAT score #10 over Marc, but I'd cheer like hell if he did. Us old blokes got to stick together....

      Kneedragon1962 Same here man, Always idolized Rossi, the only guy i didnt mind to see him lose to was Casey Stoner, driving that Ducati boat to win the 2007 championship

      Reuben Jonson It was so much slower through the corners.. But yes it had a overspeed on the straights 15km/h faster it was i believe on top speed

    • @acidangelster
      @acidangelster 9 років тому +16

      +Reuben Jonson Please remember that Stoner s teammate was Loris Caparossi a veteran back then and he finished 7 th in the championship.The ducati was fast only when upright.The rest of the suave magic was conjured up by stoner with his miraculous ability to tame that red devil in the corners.If that bike indeed was so good,believe me someone like Loris wouldnt have finished so farther down.

    I followed motogp from 2007 or 2008, i forgot the exact race but Jorge had a huge high side and the accident made my heart race and i became a big fan. It was amazing to see someone turning a corner at 90+kmph while i thought 60 was fast lol. But catalunya 2009 was my best memory, it actually made my family and my cousins to fall in love with motogp when rossi overtook jorge at the last corner. They thought racing at 300kmph was stupid lol but that race made them into fans. Thank you motogp for producing the best rivals in my era. I like marq now but seems like he's was born too late to make the races even more exciting.

  • @shogrran
    @shogrran 9 років тому +610

    His movements were legal but a little bit on the limit. But that's what differentiates riders in experience. How far can you push the limit? How far can you take your bike to the limit and make the opponent rider pull back because he thinks you're going to go over the limit?

    • @wot48320
      @wot48320 9 років тому +24

      +shogrran No doubt Rossi is the greatest rider in Motogp. He should've shut up and race MM in Malaysia instead of losing his cool, throw away his championship. What happened to the guy who loves close racing?

    • @shogrran
      @shogrran 9 років тому +1

      Wot48 did he really throw away his championship? Is it over already or if he gets a podium above lorenzo he can still make it? Maybe it's not about the championship, maybe it's sending a message.

    • @wot48320
      @wot48320 9 років тому +18

      Sending what message? how to do kicks on a motorcycle? He can still wins it, yes but the chances are slim.

    • @shogrran
      @shogrran 9 років тому +8

      Wot48 sending a message not to stick to me. The same way, Rodman throws elbows after a rebound. If the elbows don't hit anyone it's not a foul and it's not illegal. But do you really want a rodman elbow to the face so you can prevent the bulls a championship? when you're playing for Hornets and is FAR from championship? The mentality is of an immature sneaky little bitch. Typical of a 22 year old who's barely out of puberty.
      Because apparently that's what marquez wants. Since he's too far from a championship. He's pulling a contender down just because he CAN and he's immature enough to think that in the long run, since Rossi is near retirement age, he'll have better chances of equalling rossi's achievements. He'll have better chances catching up to 6 motogp championships than 7.
      He doesn't even care if it's Lorenzo champions this year. Doesn't care whoever is champion. All others are easy to catch up to. Lorenzo i think has 2. If Marquez stays with honda, he's going to be world champion in the next few years SPECIALLY if rossi retires because quite frankly the honda bikes are dominating. Yamaha bikes are sub par and are only surviving because it's Rossi and Lorenzo on the reigns.

    It all fell apart when Marc decided to help Jorge. For those who don't think he did, please consider these facts. 1. In Phillip Island before the race Marc promised Jorge he would be extra careful around him so as not to risk a DNF, he made no such comment to VR who was actually the leader at the time then went on to race him hard. 2. His lap times in PI varied up to 1.5 seconds. Unheard of at this level. From one lap to the next.3. In sepang he raced VR very hard for no real reason after letting Jorge past with no fight whatsoever4. In Valencia Marc followed Jorge for the entire race with no attempt to pass (1st time I've ever seen him ride that way in 8 seasons), only got aggressive 1 time when Dani passed him . Had to keep Dani from catching Jorge. 5. Even Jorge himself said "they helped me win the title by not trying to race me. How people can't read between the lines is beyond me. Marcs manager said straight up "'Marc blames VR for ruining his season . I guess when you hit a rider from behind its the rider in fronts responsibility . Hmmm

      Alexander Tsaturov Lol! Right... get a bike one day, ask mommy or sell your rollerblades, then one day you'll understand what going fast on a motorcycle is.... right now you're just some sad Rossi fan. Don't try it with me junior... I actually ride bikes dipshit... you watch on tv. And you like the guy that loses! Marc is faster and more skilled on a GP bike than you know...you don't know what you're looking at.... sure you like to curse and talk shit, but lots of losers do that here. Save some pennies and get your big fat ass off the couch... get a bike first, then you'll have an opinion on more than watching tv.... until then, you're just another fat ass pissed off that Rossi lost again!

Also on the track he did not have a hold on himself.It was unnecessary.I also dont like Lorenzo s comment about the penalty not being enough.Thats not how a Champ speaks,But this whole fiasco was started by Rossi and unfortunately for him it doesnt look like it ll end well for him.

    Lorenzo will always and forever be hated for the fact that he beat Rossi in 2010, he beat him with the same bike. Rossi going down in mugello wasn't Lorenzo's fault. True, the outcome perhaps would have been different but if y'all recall Jorge was beating Rossi right from the get go, even before the injury. Injury is a part of this sport. This past MotoGP could have gone different if Lorenzo wouldn't have gone down but it is what it is. Marc is worthy of the 12-13 MotoGP.
    Can't wait for 2014!!! Bring on Qatar!!!

    I remember those days when Lorenzo showed some respect for Rossi- even with the walls and boxes, etc.... Not any more! He saw the real Rossi and Jorge is a world champion in his own right- and is faster. No need for fake smiles anymore!

    I think Valle is number one even if he finish 4th.. As Valle himself would say "- I push very hard"... and this year i think he'll push so goddam hard he will have problems stayin on the track, but as long as he stays on he's gonna kick ass..

    I take that back... MotoGP is also really about advertising products, with the boosting of sport bike sales a nice bonus for the manufacturers. And I never thought of this until now, but I bet the recent advent of HDTV's and HD broadcasts has injected even more cash into MotoGP, NASCAR and F1... clearer, prettier pictures => enhanced ad recognition => more ad revenue.

    Imagine Lorenzo arriving to motogp in a Suzuki.. It´s easier with a champion bike (specially a Rossi´s made one)..

    • @talons74
      @talons74 9 років тому +2

      +2sx4u Rossi has only ever done anything on a Honda or a Yamaha - when he went to Ducati, he did shit. Casey Stoner won a championship on a Ducati.

    • @2sx4u
      @2sx4u 9 років тому +1

      +Carl Ruppersburg Stoner only won with fast material, Rossi won with Yamaha even being slower, but ducati with Rossi was too slow to win. He was brave to make decissions that others don't. You see only what you want..

    • @talons74
      @talons74 9 років тому +4

      +2sx4u Rossi is slower than Lorenzo this year, on a very fast Yamaha. So maybe the problem sits with Rossi and not the Ducati or Yamaha ... In a straight race, Lorenzo beat Rossi more times this year (6x JL [excl. Valencia] and 4x VR). Even the Hondas made him look slow. So imagine that Rossi retired 5 years ago and didn't expect to be handed a championship because it will upset his fans if he doesn't get it ... Get it?

    • @2sx4u
      @2sx4u 9 років тому +1

      +Carl Ruppersburg So why Rossi gets more points if Jorge is faster? Perhaps don't make mistakes counts to be a champion, to be the best? I'll see them in ten years, with more age and new pilots pushing hard, and you'll tell me fue results. They are still nobody, and this title almost go to Rossi with 36 years, get it?

    • @talons74
      @talons74 9 років тому +3

      2sx4u Is this a real question? It is because Rossi has been more consistent in 2015. Lorenzo did have some really annoying issues that messed him around, like a loose helmet lining at Qatar, bronchitis at Austin, tire troubles at Argentina, visor fogging at Silverstone, but he didn't blame another rider for the issues he was having, he just raced as hard as he could.Lorenzo was more successful than Rossi in the following areas - in victories, in pole positions, in fast laps, in laps leading the race, in laps leading the practice, etc. Rossi finished more races on the podium and his consistency to finish on the podium offers more points.I am glad I am not a Rossi fan, because if you are a true Rossi fan, you have to dislike or even hate other riders when Rossi has an issue with them.'No one can do what Rossi does', so we speak shit about riders starting on a Suzuki and we can't except that Lorenzo had a great season and deserves the win, as much as Rossi did - as much as any rider who raced that hard this year (and there were only two).

    @vishal . Well, this year in preseason testing rossi was the only rider to get close to Marquez . He got within .2 on the final day. Did a 1:59.7 at sepang!!! By far his fastest lap at that circuit ever! He has spoken of big improvements on the bike in braking and he modified his riding. Hanging off more like MM! Rossi might impress us this year. Fingers crossed!

    I think Mr Rossi should return to Honda, his "vaterland", and show who is the master once and for all! Then he can retire with best of minds.

    • @iwona.hasiakiwonahasiak6819
      @iwona.hasiakiwonahasiak6819 10 років тому +16

      Rossi won't return to Honda. He wants to improve the bike and take a part in it (what was impossible in Honda team) and he didn't feel well with this team. Rossi is not only a wonderful rider, but also THE DOCTOR of motorbikes. His place is in Yamaha team. Yama is his family. Vale doesn't want to choose the easiest way to win. He always takes up the challenge! GOAT!

    • @BBGBITW
      @BBGBITW 10 років тому +1

      If it is true what you write, then it would be less interesting to go for Honda. However, I think the riders in the Honda team very much can and do influence the development of the bikes, as for the other teams. Anything else would be unacceptable. With this, I think Rossi would be best positioned for a new title with the best team, i.e. Honda.

    • @iwona.hasiakiwonahasiak6819
      @iwona.hasiakiwonahasiak6819 10 років тому +5

      BBGBITW Honda means MONEY, POWER and PR. MotoGP means MONEY, POWER and POLITIC. It's sad but true. I think it kills the real spirit of this sport but we as fans are helpless. I believe that was one of the main reasons why Casey Stoner left MotoGP. This team (Honda) spends plenty of money for research, so Honda's riders have always the best bikes. They are always one jump ahead and constructors of another teams can't do anything, because when a new season starts engines of their bikes are "frozen" and they can't change any details. This season Honda's engines are at least 5 hp stronger, they are on an another level. I believe Marc Marquez is someone special, who can even beat all records, but I think he has to leave Honda in order to prove he is really the best rider even without the best bike. Vale did it and now people call him GOAT, because he proved his value as a rider. He can stay in Yama to the end of his career and just have lots of fun, because he achieved everything, what he wanted to. He doesn't need Honda in order to score anything. :)

      BBGBITW , Hola, tiene algo de razón, el poder económico de la Honda, es notable, pero los pilotos de Honda actuales (Marquez y Pedroza), poseen mayores destreza como pilotos que el resto de los pilotos del MotoGP, inclusive, ya se notan superior a Rossi y a Lorenzo,si hoy día, Rossi corriera con una moto oficial Honda, igual pierde con Pedroza y Marquez.
