I've never worked on a Honda, but wow the molding on that block is excellent, I mean the quality of the molding is almost flawless. No wonder they have a reputation for being amazing engines, it looks like they spare no expense in making it.
They started as a motorbike company. A motorbike is literally motors and wheels. They make and design their own engines. They are top notch and better than Toyota engines.
You can say a lot about honda but my god they know how to build engines. Especially 70s,80,90s. Maybe later engines as well but never worked on those. Switched to german cars mid 2000s. Now own a mint c5 rs6 with 650 horses. BOOST!!!!!!!

This video is a great way to show people how a turbo system is set up and that it’s really not that complicated. Everybody bashes the eBay turbo kits but they’re a good way to get the majority of the basic parts you need. I’ve used them before but in both cases, I used different turbos rather than the turbo that came with the kit. Later sold the eBay turbos to recoup some of the cost. Great video!!
I work at a rod shop just say for the tools and set up you used, you did a beautiful job where most people would have to rig half this job you went through it properly and informed on important parts of the installation great video
Those eBay turbos actually have a lot of power, you just got to control it. This guy works like those Puerto Rican guys with their rotaries their geniuses with those things, great talent.
I subscribed on my old account and found you again, please continue to keep it real with the work you put out. Can't stand most these youtubers constantly doing overly used and expensive cars.
in the apartment parking lot, love it man, remember those days, hopefully you get enough views to pay for the kit with ad revenue. We all started somewhere..
this is whats the true nature of modding your ride. you make do on what you got and your budget. i can relate to this; unlike the other youtube channels with high dollar lifts and full part supports from sponsors. you, my friend just got a american muscle car guy to subscribe to your channel. (i own an 07 TBSS with TT 408 and a Single Turbo Z06) well done brotha!
Hey awesome build i have one very similar! Almost the same kit also. Just a quick tip. The flange to connect the oil feed line to the turbo. The hole that lets the oil through is too small!!!!!!! Please drill it out. The turbos are journal turbos and need more oil supply than that pinhole can supply. Drill it out to make it alot bigger. That pinhole size is more for ball bearing turbos. I blew two turbos before realizing that was causing my issues. My turbos only last a week each before i fixed it.
@@RyanTheMalamute ball bearing turbos always need a restrictor. Most come with it already in it. And journal bearing turbos need at least 30psi. One of the big problems with kits like these are the drain fitting that bolts to the turbo will have a 9mm Hole when it should be at least 12 but more like 13. And that will cause excessive pressure in the turbo and cause it to leak oil into the housings. So a lot of these companies will put unnecessary restrictors to try to remedy the problem. And that restrictor then starves the turbo of oil at idle. The best things you can do with a kit like this is get a quality rebuild kit before you even install it, and if the drain on the cartridge is less than 13mm drill it out bigger. Sorry for the long ass message. Lol
You make this look so easy! The important part to any project is having the will and know-how, which you obviously have both. I love how inexpensive most things for the Civic are! I can't wait to see how this turns out....
Keep doing what you are doing good sir! You show the world that it doesn't take a millions dollars to have a clean, well put together car. Thank you!!!

Wow. Just wow. You don’t ever see a build like this. In a parking lot? Heck yeah man! I love the look of your Civic and the color is one of my favorites (I call it Grabber Blue because of the mustangs). Keep it up and love everything about this!
Proper "shade-tree mechanic" stuff, here - and I'm not being derogatory in any way! This just shows you what you can do with a limited amount of tools at your disposal and some creative brain-power. Could it be done better and with a higher quality? Of course, but most of us that tinker with their own cars are on a budget and we can't give money away to mechanics - no matter how good they are. After all, we can identify improvements (brackets, etc.) after testing the installation and getting things working the way you want; weaknesses will show up soon enough? Great, COMPLETE, video - as it should be, if you're sharing information; a lot of guys don't show you the nitty-gritty of the difficult stuff. Many thanks, bud.
You’re awesome man! I’m 16 and just now learning about the whole car scene, looking for my first car and watching your videos is just really cool! Keep going!
watched many videos on turboing a civic and this is by far the best one most of them skip the important parts you've showed the common guy how to do it himself and explained it really well if only more youtubers took the time to actually do things right and teach people than rush it bcos they cant be arsed with recording it all so much props subscribed :)

Doing all that work in an apt complex? I give you mad props man! Great job!
Shit, there's some apartment complexes where they don't allow people to work on vehicles. Trust me, I got into trouble for changing my oil in my previous apartment.
Dude that's just bullshit..
@@Dragonb0rn1 that's crazy. I use my pressure washer and foam cannon at mine.
@@Dragonb0rn1 I've got the same problem at my current apartment it sucks
THANKS SOO MUCH BUDDY , I,m from the UK and am just about to buy a nice Civic type r with the K20 so i,ve looked at loads of vids but i have to say yours was the easiest to understand as a first timer going into the turbo route. I dont know how reliable these realy cheap turbo kits are but from what i have seen so far BEST BANG FOR BUCK ,so i,ll also be doing the full ordering ,opening the box, to full install and then dyno so watch this space guys thanks from the UK SCOOBS.
Bro RESPECT hats off to you. WHO CARES ABOUT A WORKSHOP mans doing it outside on his own MADD RESPECT. this would cost 4 gs where i come from
Awesome video, i was a bit skeptical of those ebay kits but this amazing video showed me that they're not bad and i absolutely loved this whole video! Great quality and you installed it like most of us would at home, No expensive 10 000$ lifts and 200$ motorized tools, love it!!!
Rocked that shit bro. glad to see you not daunted by the unknown. this isn't an r&r can be a major challenge just to start a project without hands on experience before. Gratz man. thumbs up!!!
Finally ,,someone with common sense ,,, straight outta blue collar town ,,and straight to the point ,,,there are some of us left out there . Good luck with your channel bro ,,,,we need more like this man here ! You got my subscription !
I’m a simple man, i see good content i leave a like
Talhah Huda comment so burnt out
I've watched this video a few times. Your personality, your perspective, and that fucking smile. Thanks for making my day again man (:
I'd recommend a good cheap fuel pump it's called kemso 340lph on ebay I've been running 1 for over a year making 350hp with no issues 30$ shipped cant beat that , great video man keep it up
I've already purchased it. I heard it was great for the price
Got the same one!
I thought about getting one for my fox body but didnt know if it would be any good. Will be making about 100hp more than you but my buddy has the same set up as me and has a 255lph and doesn't starve. but it's a walboro and it's loud as fuck.
@@baronvonlimbourgh1716 my chevy aveo 1.6 has a composite plastic valve cover and plenum 😂 well I guess its weight reduction but its cheap ass car lol
@@justinc9911 as long as it does what you need and you are happy with it it is the perfect car.
Cheap cars have their advantages. Most notably being cheap :). Leaves a lot of money for other things.
To each their own hobbys right?
This was the first video i have seen on youtube that actually helps with installing a turbo kit. Great job man you have earned a sub!
Man I love this guy!!!
This "vato" is the real deal ..
He loves cars ..And that ,my friends, I TOTALLY RESPECT.
Good job big guy!!!!
This shows what’s up. That’s why diy and the car community in general have a love for “built” cars. It’s something you appreciate. All that time, money, struggle for the end result. Love it man.👍
For $500 dosen't look that bad.
legolucky09 yeah the piping was worth that. Id probably buy that kit and run it and then replace BOV, Waste-gate, and turbo with better parts tho as saving and money allowed...
Civic parts are hella cheap and the cheap ones are decent quality, plus when the motor blows you can do a rebuild for like another ~500 ish dollars
People bragging about being able to replace an engine that blew due to "quality" parts... I mean yeah I'm kinda hating but at the same time, after you spend the money again and again, why not just buy a quality car and mod that?
@@wonderbreadjumps low entry price, cheap parts, high power output potentials. It's possible to build any block to be bulletproof, but at what cost? Or make 8/10th the power and just throw a bottom end or transmission at something from time to time

I don't even own a civic, but I like how you use what you have to make things work. Good video for budget enthusiast.
Not going lie at first I thought he was just going to leave his intercooler just zipped tied on
me too lol
Sergio Sanchez yeah same here. I figured a lot of import guys enjoy using zip ties holding bumpers and stuff on so they’d think zip ties were legit enuff!!
i was literally crying when i saw him do this.
About two-hundred people thought the same way.
You silly? He still gonna send it!
You’ve got the be the most humble dude on UA-cam that does stuff like this. I know very basic things about cars and mechanics, and I want to learn everything I can so one day I can do stuff like this. I have my own Honda Civic (2011) and want to do a lot of things with it, and you’ve motivated me to really get going on it. Just wish I had the money lol. You’ve earned a new subscriber!
just ordered a $575 ebay turbo kit for my 2003 Mazda miata. Super excited.
Thanks for the inspiration! I saw this same kit last night and was super exited, then very dissappointed because I thought it would be too hard for me to install myself, but this showed me that it won't be too hard! Now I'm turboing my 2000 mustang v6!
you are an inspiration working outside with no shop and no garage. props to you man
you made my day, doing that in the parking lot mad respect. putting that hard work into something you love makes me happy.
Your car is bad ass I love that car the color of it and everything that you’re doing to it. It’s amazing!! Can’t wait to see you drive it
Iam just about to install a turbo kit in my lancer and saw your video...!!!
Great work..
Will follow your steps...
Love from India...
Damn i want to do the same and this guy has inspired me to do so.
Did you bought turbo kit?
Those eBay turbos actually have a lot of power, you just got to control it. This guy works like those Puerto Rican guys with their rotaries their geniuses with those things, great talent.
This is the best video I’ve seen on turbo installation. Very thorough you should be proud of your work
I subscribed on my old account and found you again, please continue to keep it real with the work you put out. Can't stand most these youtubers constantly doing overly used and expensive cars.
Loving the channel. Your camera angles are all so clear and easy to see what you're doing too! Better than a lot of youtubers
in the apartment parking lot, love it man, remember those days, hopefully you get enough views to pay for the kit with ad revenue. We all started somewhere..
Bro you explain stuff in a way that is so easy to understand! Thats a special talent man! Love ur videos, shoutout from Riverside California
this is whats the true nature of modding your ride. you make do on what you got and your budget. i can relate to this; unlike the other youtube channels with high dollar lifts and full part supports from sponsors. you, my friend just got a american muscle car guy to subscribe to your channel. (i own an 07 TBSS with TT 408 and a Single Turbo Z06) well done brotha!
Awesome real world video. Thanks for a great video. Bro is doing some serious wrenching and the scene with him grinding that pipe WHOA.
I was wondering this myself, but I couldn't remember if ball or journal needed the restrictors.
@@RyanTheMalamute
Either could need an oil restrictor, it all depends on the oil pressure
Lol
@@blindabinda1234 hey this is how solutions are found. No need for apologies here!
@@RyanTheMalamute Thanks buddy. Just like everyone else said, very good job with the video and the details you put into it... kero up the good work.
You make this look so easy! The important part to any project is having the will and know-how, which you obviously have both. I love how inexpensive most things for the Civic are! I can't wait to see how this turns out....
your videos are so fun to watch
Keep doing what you are doing good sir! You show the world that it doesn't take a millions dollars to have a clean, well put together car. Thank you!!!
I would love to see the work you do to finish the turbo kit. I've not seen an apartment complex build like this and you did absolutely amazing for the amount of time you spent. I'm really glad you didn't cut yourself with the way you were working without a bench. Your ingenuity really showed when you hung the inter-cooler from zip ties! Keep up the good work and best of luck with other mods to your vehicle. You're gong to do great.
Wow. Just wow. You don’t ever see a build like this. In a parking lot? Heck yeah man! I love the look of your Civic and the color is one of my favorites (I call it Grabber Blue because of the mustangs). Keep it up and love everything about this!
Dude thank you so much, every other video I have watched wasted so many minutes but you got straight to the point, I like it! Subbed!
The smile on his face says it all, smart guy, subscribed!
By far, one of the best turbo install videos I’ve seen! I would let you turbo my civic
This guy has a great attitude
Im not into Honda's anymore but he makes me wanting to watch his next video.
Bro I noticed how clean everything on your car is. Great job at doing the very best with what you've got.
Awesome video, I've been putting my turbo project on hold for over 10 years because it was so difficult to get clear, easy to follow information on what is needed to do a turbo install on a 6th gen. Thanks for making it, keep up the great work!
Man you make this look so easy, I bet it was a lot of work. I wish I had done this on my Civic when I had it. Good job man.
4:52 hmm I remember helping a friend with something like this once
EDIT: pretty nice video man, hope to see more future videos about this car!
This guy is legit the most passionate person that I've ever seen, working on his humble little car, doing what he likes with what he has. Keep going man!
Nice build, you don't need a fancy garage to make cool stuff. I like to diy my cars to and if I fail, I've learned. cool channel dude!
Much respect for doing a job like this outside of your apartment. When I'm in the garage with great lighting, the lift, tools and having difficulty with things I really have to think about how it could be harder.
Ya like everyone else said, you done a great job and made the best with what you had. It came out looking great too! Awesome job bro!! Keeping on keeping on!!
8:53 Now THAT'S what I call a backyard mechanic. Using a tree branch as a high tech cleaning tool. LOL I loved it! You just got a new sub!
And someone might say ‘oh he hasn’t put any work into it’
You can say you did it in an apartment parking lot! Nice one mate love it keep up the good work! :)
This is like one of the best step by step turbo install videos on UA-cam. Thanks for taking the time to share knowledge 👍🏾👍🏾
Nothing more satisfying than DIY and knowing what and where things are, good job dude. your hair even grew while you were at it...
How to install a turbo in your apartment parking lot. Angry neighbors edited out for your viewing enjoyment.
She put the lime in the coconut Real life shit going on here! What most of us do
Tmac0920 Mac Well yes, this is the kind of stuff I would have done when I was in my late teens early 20’s. BUT I distinctly remember neighbors and the property manager complaining.
They follow my build and ask me about it all the time. They don't care as long as the car is not left on jack stands overnight. Most of them borrow my tools when they need them. I'm happy for good neighbors and management
@@79thproductions You're lucky. I lived at a complex that would have kittens if you even popped your hood.
That's awesome
Such an underrated channel. Love these walkthroughs, gives me inspiration to what project cars i should get.
Love the fact he does this in a car park.. who needs an expensive garage with a hoist 😂👌
Not a honda fan but I subbed because this was awesome to watch! A regular dude on the ground sweating his ass off working on his car in the parking lot. The realism in this awesome! Not everyone has the luxury of a car lift! Real shit brutha!
Watched all the way solely cuz I love the effort and skill displayed. Shows u don’t need a fancy shop just hard work and right tools! Awesome vid man!
UA-cams been telling me to watch this for a few days. Wasn't really going to, because most channels that do something with title just badmouth the parts and never actually get anything done. But you're legit, and you may not be super mechanically inclined but you got common sense, and that's all it really takes. I'm glad I finally clicked on the video. You earned a sub bro.
