Zeus had promised him clear skies while sailing, but Hera wanted to sabotage Herc with a storm, so she tricked Hypnos into putting Zeus to sleep, saying that he was having trouble resting and needed help. Hercules' desperate prayers during the storm she summoned woke Zeus, and the furious King of Olympus chased Hypnos down until he hid under Nyx's cloak. Zeus HATE the powers of Hypnos and Eris. Because Zeus hate Hypnos when he doesn’t want to get sleepy and Zeus hate Eris when he doesn’t want to get involved with discord, conflict, disagreement, and incompatibility. Zeus himself feared Nyx enough to retract all threats against her son Hypnos and her daughter Eris.
@@ashash1505 Somehow I find it funny and fascinating how some ancient religions have such similarities. It makes me wonder if they were once something like a big tribe which then split apart and then created their own religion. For example, I found recently out, that the cosmic giant Ymir also exist in the Hinduism. And aside that, the Germanic religion has also similarities with the Greek religion too. I mean, in a way it does make sense because the Germanic languages are part of the Indo-Germanic languages. So maybe there was an Indo-Germanic-religion from which all other follow myths/religions of the Indo-Germanic-tribes were born. 🤔
*Bullying Hypnos* Bullies: "Hehe, whatchu gonna do, mama's boy? Call your mom? LOL!" Hypnos: "As a matter of fact, yes. MOM!!" *Bullies fleeing for their lives as Nyx chases them with a chancla made out of night and stars* "THIS IS NOT WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!!!"
It was also because Helios couldn't chase her in the entire world and not have night elsewhere. And that though she was an aspect of chaos it allowed humans to use their imagination and from that the world was shaped even more.
According to the Illiad, when Zeus woke up from his slumber, figured out that Hypnos put him to sleep at the request of Hera he lashed out at her but his wife was able to deflect guilt and calm him down with clever talking. So i totally buy that he would lose his momentum at other stronger women as well 🤣
hi all! i praise nyx as my matron, i know theres not a lot of info on ways to praise her so heres a prayer i wrote for her that i recite often before prayer or just to invoke her O Nyx, sovereign of the night's embrace, Guide me through shadow, reveal your grace. Shroud us in your mantle, cloak us tight, Lead us through darkness, into your light. As shadows dance and moonbeams play, Bless me with your prescence, show me the way. With reverence and awe, I call upon thee, Nyx, Goddess of Night, hear my plea. Lady Nyx I praise thee.
I think Zeus respected Nyx more than he feared her. And maybe because attacking her house would certainnly end in divine civil war since, as you said, Nyx birthed many gods.
Zeus ended up chasing Hypnos all over the world, since he couldn't just sit there to be caught by Zeus. That was when Hypnos put him to sleep. Hypnos was lucky to escape Zeus's fury.
Hi there, there are some versions that hint that Zeus wasn't afraid of her but realized if they fought and she died it would lead to the death of the Night (since she was primordial). In other words, killing her would be more trouble than it was worth.
You think Zeus would be pissing his toga scared of all the primordials you know those beings that make him look like a little school girl dancing merrily through a field of Gilly flowers
I should remind you guys during the whole Hypnos putting Zeus in a deep sleep thing Morpheus acted as the getaway driver and he did it so his crush Pasithea could be married to him.
It was not during the Trojan war that Zeus chased Hypnos. It was in the Iliad though (Trojan War) which Achilles told that story of Zeus fearing Nyx’s maternal wrath. But does that mean she’s more powerful than Zeus or even Poseidon and Hades. It’s like USA x Russia x China. We know who’s the most powerful
she is the mother of Thanatos, Hypnos, Eris, Nemesis, the Fates, Hemera, and a lot more deities that were born in Tartarus her daughter, Hemera, might be her least favorite, since she represented the day, while Nyx represented the night, so they were always at odds and were rarely seen together the father of all of Nyx's children was said to be Eurebus, Primordial God of Darkness
Meanwhile Zeus to Hera: I’m just gonna forget the whole deception-going against my will thing ever happened … is … that Ok with you huh…honey?” … maybe he just feared goddesses in general in that particular tale … but then, maybe the tale should be interpreted as “influencing the course of human lives is nothing, but physically putting Zeus the god to sleep must be punished” … you can never know with these Greek tales as we can never actually get into their mentality.
Well, in the end, I don't think there is a true or wrong. I mean, there are several different myths and because of this, there are several own views of how powerful the gods are or how the universe was even created. Personally, I consider everything from Homer as "cannon" because it is the eldest source so far (at least as far as I know.). However, I could also be wrong, and a later source is perhaps more accurate. In any case, it seems that Nyx was really powerful.
The only reason you have the throne is simple. i don't care about mortal's affairs. i don't care anything except my children. i also don't care what my children care. but if you dare to harm the children i care , i can make you dissappear , goodbye , take care -NYX She is really like this if you read more greek miths , you will understand.

For example, Aither (Light and Upper Air), Hemera (Day), the Moirai (Destiny): Clotho (Birth and Past), Lachesis (Life and Present), Atropos (Death and Future), Charon (Death and Bone), Thanatos (Peaceful and Gentle Death), Hypnos (Sleep), Nemesis (Punishment, Balance, and Justice), Sophrosyne (Temperance, Abstention, Self-Control, Restraint, and Discretion), Arai (Curse), Moros (Doom and Nothingness), Epiphron (Prudence, Thoughtfulness, and Carefulness), Elpis (Hope), Akhlys (Poison), Alecto (Angry), Megaera (Envy), Tisiphone (Vengeance), and Hellhounds.
Or she wants to have many children to represent of something like destruction and malevolent. For example, Eris (Discord and Strife), Apate (Deception), Dolos (Trickery), Geras (Old Age), the Keres (Violent Death), Momus (Blame), Oizys (Distress), and Lyssa (Madness). Especially the deities being of, I think.
I always loved Nyx, but after playing the game HADES, the way she was portrayed made me respect her even more!
She's in another game called Persona 3... catch is that she's the final boss.
Zues: HYPNOS!!! YOU BOUT TO GET A WHOOPING!!!
Nyx: You will have to whoop me FIRST!!!
Zues: Understood ma'am sorry to bother you. Have a nice day.
I mean Nyx is on the same League as Gaea, Rhea and Kronos so I am not surprised.
The Norse Mythology has a similar Goddess known as Nott.
And the egyptian as Nout

Somehow I find it funny and fascinating how some ancient religions have such similarities.
Nyx is more above those three Titans
The most powerful female that creepy Zeus didnt dare to approach her XD
It’s really cool how Neil Gaiman was able to use the goddess of night in the Sandman comics as well as time
*Bullying Hypnos*
Bullies: "Hehe, whatchu gonna do, mama's boy? Call your mom? LOL!"
Hypnos: "As a matter of fact, yes. MOM!!"
*Bullies fleeing for their lives as Nyx chases them with a chancla made out of night and stars*
"THIS IS NOT WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!!!"
Ah yes, the original Gothicc dommi mommy that even Zeus feared.
Whether Zeus fears her power or her influence, he still fears her
It was also because Helios couldn't chase her in the entire world and not have night elsewhere. And that though she was an aspect of chaos it allowed humans to use their imagination and from that the world was shaped even more.
I’d like a video that went into more depth about why Nyx is so feared.
Can you please do a story on Kratus from Greek Mythology or Nezha from Chinese Mythology?
Please post more videos about
- Ares god of war
- Hecatoncheires
- Nyx
According to the Illiad, when Zeus woke up from his slumber, figured out that Hypnos put him to sleep at the request of Hera he lashed out at her but his wife was able to deflect guilt and calm him down with clever talking. So i totally buy that he would lose his momentum at other stronger women as well 🤣
No, this is his grandmother. He only respects him, but his wife acts like women, Mahdi's words
Hypnos' hot, goth Mama
Nyx was one of my favourite deities.
hi all! i praise nyx as my matron, i know theres not a lot of info on ways to praise her so heres a prayer i wrote for her that i recite often before prayer or just to invoke her
O Nyx, sovereign of the night's embrace,
Guide me through shadow, reveal your grace.
Shroud us in your mantle, cloak us tight,
Lead us through darkness, into your light.
As shadows dance and moonbeams play,
Bless me with your prescence, show me the way.
With reverence and awe, I call upon thee,
Nyx, Goddess of Night, hear my plea.
Lady Nyx I praise thee.
👏 That was wonderful story about Nyx! Reminds me in game Hades Zagreus ask Nyx. How I love watch they sky at night to see shooting stars!
Nyx is an interesting figure of mythology!
Can you do a video on Hypnos next?
I love drawing nyx! She's my profile pic rn, I love her
I love this story
Now i know why she is the final boss of persona 3
I love the greek mythology
I think Zeus respected Nyx more than he feared her. And maybe because attacking her house would certainnly end in divine civil war since, as you said, Nyx birthed many gods.
Nah he totally feared first and respected second.
Zeus was a wimp manchild
@@PrimordialNyx By your standards. Not from ancients greek one.
@@efaristi9737 I might not be ancient, but I am Greek and from what I read so far Zeus feared Nyx. He could respect her, but he mostly feared her.
Any respect Zeus had for Nyx was born of his fear of her.
@@PartialDemon respect is not necessarily born of fear. It can be genuine.
My favorite Greek God(dess)! 🌌🌙
Zeus: wants to punish Hypnos
Hypnos: goes to Nyx
Nyx:
Zeus: understandable have a great day
Zeus: *I AM ZEUS. I shall sleep with any woman I like.* 😤 * Looks at Nix * all but that woman... that woman scares me😰
Zeus ended up chasing Hypnos all over the world, since he couldn't just sit there to be caught by Zeus. That was when Hypnos put him to sleep. Hypnos was lucky to escape Zeus's fury.
I wonder how a fight between Nyx and Gaea would go
She reminds me of sekhmet for the same reason that gods were also afraid of her power
I’m literally playing hades rn and just got done talking to nyx and gifted Zeus. So crazy 😭
Night is the true state of the universe
Even when the sun rises and sets for eons. A far time from now a world will forever return to night.

Nyx is my Greek waifu.
ey watch out it's 5:41 AM she still watching
The first Goth girl
She and Hecate are my fav greek goddess, but i have a question how Hecate being called daughter of night in myth?
I’m being Eris, Nyx’s daughter for Halloween. I can’t wait!!!
That’s so cool! I would’ve loved to have seen it.
"The Arcana is the means by which all is revealed..."
...wait, wrong Nyx!
Nyx - Best mother in the world
Hi there, there are some versions that hint that Zeus wasn't afraid of her but realized if they fought and she died it would lead to the death of the Night (since she was primordial). In other words, killing her would be more trouble than it was worth.
I'm in love with her. ❤
Morpheus: DAD! GET IN THE CAR NOW!
I love your videos please do a Vidio of NYC’s and her story with Zacros hades son please
Yeah. Zeus was always pissing himself when it came to primordials. You know, those beings who could waste him with no effort.
Intresting
Can You Do The 300 and Leonidas
Idk where the telegram link I prefer my request on the 300 and Leonidas plss
It was not during the Trojan war that Zeus chased Hypnos. It was in the Iliad though (Trojan War) which Achilles told that story of Zeus fearing Nyx’s maternal wrath. But does that mean she’s more powerful than Zeus or even Poseidon and Hades. It’s like USA x Russia x China. We know who’s the most powerful
I love that Gaiman chose her to be the mother of the Endless
When/where was this? I don't recall that being in the original graphic novels…
@@John_Weiss oh not this specifically, But Nyx is the mother of the seven endless, I think that in season of the mist, Morpheus goes to see her.
@@vikib1758 Huh. I don't remember that from the graphic novels.
@@John_Weiss Isn't this the science of mental illness
The primordial deity of the night one of the most oldest beings of them all
she is the mother of Thanatos, Hypnos, Eris, Nemesis, the Fates, Hemera, and a lot more deities that were born in Tartarus
her daughter, Hemera, might be her least favorite, since she represented the day, while Nyx represented the night, so they were always at odds and were rarely seen together
the father of all of Nyx's children was said to be Eurebus, Primordial God of Darkness
She is a primordial not Titan
@@zone8521 sorry my Brian not working always
Hyponis is like your little brother after he breaks your stuff and you try to hit him.
Of course he was afraid, she was a protogenoi, a being alongside ananke, chronos (cronus), and Gaia
Meanwhile Zeus to Hera: I’m just gonna forget the whole deception-going against my will thing ever happened … is … that Ok with you huh…honey?” … maybe he just feared goddesses in general in that particular tale
… but then, maybe the tale should be interpreted as “influencing the course of human lives is nothing, but physically putting Zeus the god to sleep must be punished” … you can never know with these Greek tales as we can never actually get into their mentality.
Nyx is the only goddess you're done if you rage no matter how powerful you are also nyx is hands down my favorite mythology goddess now
Does she have a specific personality? We have this task in school where we choose a goddess to portray so I want to know more about how she acts
See u In History can you do a video about Greek God of Medicine Asclepius
I like how he used moon knights theme song as backround music
The only reason you have the throne is simple. i don't care about mortal's affairs.
i don't care anything except my children.
i also don't care what my children care.
but if you dare to harm the children i care , i can make you dissappear , goodbye , take care

She is really like this if you read more greek miths , you will understand.
Nyx in Greek mythology, grandson of Zeus, do you need help?
@@عليياسر-ذ5ب nyx is older than zeus... She is as old as gaia... The grandmother of zeus. You need help?

I bet Nxt children never tried to rebel against her
I love nyx she is so amazing
0:30 Aether Lumine is that u 😳
I dreamed about her before smart phones existed. I had never heard her name before and when I searched her name I was blown away. She called herself Nox not Nix. Is this the same?
Good Nyx everybody 💤👋

Erebus is also Nyx husband and Nyx son at the same time . Orphic hymn about Goddess Nyx . First it was Chaos and from Chaos Nyx was born . After that Nyx gives birth to Erebus and from Nyx and Erebus ....................
