I've used woodland straps on my large alice for years and never had an issue

Same here actually, but i still feel that the new way of securing the shoulder pads isn't necessarily an improvement

I’ve a pair of OD LC-2 and Woodland LC-2 The OD pads are made stiffer than the woodland very noticeable. My woodland are almost new so I don’t think its been used issue, I would say both are made with a different pads. I had to remove the sewing stitches of one side of my OD because I received both the same side which I didn’t know from ebay. Now I’am converting it to get one left and one right. The converted one will make the stamp disappear, to sew it you need a big industrial machine with heavy duty nylon 🧵 threads. Now I know what kind of pads they are using, something I’ve never seen, probably hard to find. Military specs I would say they used the same kind of pads in the LC-2 waist belt too.

I have some fairly new OD shoulder pads which as you say are much stiffer, and also some that are well used which are nice and malleable, depends on the use I guess. I still prefer the OD pads over the woodland ones though simply for the fact that the woodland ones aren't as strong with heavier loads

You can still have them stitched on the sides like i show in the video to not have as much stress being put on the webbing that holds the straps in place. Should do the trick
