Its easy to modify the kidney pad so that it is snug in it fit to the frame. The molle II frames are wider at this connection point than the old Alice frame. The fix is to remove about an inch of threads from each side of the attaching straps, so they can be cinched up tighter within the frame's rings. All four straps need to be modified this way. It also enhances the adjustability of how much tension or lack of you want in the pad.
Your video is the best I could find, currently in the process of doing this and also have the ucp version of the hip belt, they can be dyed very easily I have two I dyed one olive drab and one browm
@LanceSheppard just regular "rit" brand dye, for green i used apple green which turned out good, you can see others dye ucp online and it turn out great, I've also used dark brown to get a dark earth brown and will try that on a spare one I have
@LanceSheppard brent0331 had a guy on his channel, unfortunately forgot his name, but his green version worked amazing, my idea is try brown for fall, I imagine a coyote/tan dye would also work good
ALWAYS install the kidney pad upside down (hump on the top side of the belt). As they teach you in Ranger Bat. and group: "a sad pack is a happy back". (For the confused: it refers to the kidney belt, which looks like a smile or frown). This rule applies to current MOLLE gear, however.
Thanks for the input! I have installed them the other way as.you mentioned and man it was a rough fit for me at least. I use mine for hunting and it about rubbed me in half 🤣 I'll try it again!
I finally got back into rucking today. I have a large Alice pack. Man, those pads sucked worse than I remember. I'll probably go this route. How much is the comfort level with this upgrade? Let's say the original is a 4/10.
I do apologize, I appreciate the feedback and I will remember this on the next pack video I do. Thank you for watching and leaving some constructive feedback.
@user-py1rx5py6o I need to do another pack. Sorry it's sped up so much. Next time I'll do a multi part series. If you have any questions about the pack let me know.

A tactical tailer super, ergo, or malice belt works fantastically well.
The trickiest part is the load lifter buckles, and you have that part muted and going at 80 mph!
I do apologize about that. The next video I make I'll remember to keep it normal speed. Thanks for the i appreciate it
Are the load lifters the ones he had to order separately?
@@JohnDoe-cd6ro yes I had to order them separately

Great information, I love hearing the children in the background.
Thanks for watching! I hope to do more gear videos soon. If you would please subscribe! And yep I try to involve the kids in all my projects lol

Is this belt good for ruck running ?
Yes, it's usgi surplus and is made for the plastic frame ruck sacks. But able to be used on the alice pack. It is very comfortable for me!
