I came here because I was concerned about the permit thing. I figured it can be tricky espesially if there are houses kind nearby. you confirmied all of that. thanks for the info and sharing your experiance.
I live north of Detroit by lake st. Clair. I tried building a shed that was on an existing slab and the inspector stopped me and told me I also should have got a demo for my old garage that fell down. And also that I have to tear up my driveway thereise legal action would be taken in 24 hours. When I bought my house it was inspected and people had cut my rafters in the old garage. So I bought a sabotaged home and they won't let me fix it
Was your property zoned residential? Or recreational? Im only asking because the property im looking at is zoned recreational and im wondering if the permits will be so harsh for me too???
Yes! My wetland delineation is done (-$1500 to pay engineer), and my septic perm test is done(-$500 for tractor seen in a video I'm posting tonight). After the health department communicates with EGLE and the engineer and the engineer communicates with EGLE, I will have my septic and wetland permits! Next is building permit, which should be easy and only take a week or so. Im hoping everything is ready within 2 weeks.

Yea that’s not how it works in this country. Unfortunately. Aerial cams to find you, and your house is condemned and you are fined.
