Lara is 100% into the story, like the two are inseparable. Superb and stunning performance. Granted that the story relates to her mother and grandmother as she mentions earlier in the video, her interpretation is nontheless truly astounding.

This performance by Lara Fabian demonstrates that musicality does not only refer to the ability to produce sounds of defined pitch and volume, but includes the ability to project emotions by vocal color and acting them out in a well-controlled, intense but not overexaggerated way. Lara has achieved such an exquisite level of perfection in doing that. You cannot project emotions through music unless you truly feel them in your heart, soul, and body while performing.

Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar.
The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her.
It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti). Even Metallica covered it 😂
But for many, Lara's version from the concert From Lara With Love 2000

I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it.
For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian. She also as been living there for the past few months since the end of 2022.

Greetings from Colorado. My daughter, son in law, and two granddaughters (6 and 1) are vacationing in Costa Rica right now. She said it’s been very hot and humid so far. I had to laugh because last night it got down to 25 degrees and we had about one inch of snow! They’ve had a great time and think it’s beautiful. They’ve rented an Airbnb just steps from the beach!

I am a bit jealous, as a French, I find italian is a more beautiful language to song, especially for romantic or emotional song... French is strong and can be very emotional, but far from being neear Italian. Incredibile ;) c'è una lingua bellissima... c'è per me più difficile del francese... e sono un po' arrugginito in italiano... Grazie mille per la reazion.
