Oh and by the way Lara has been trained as an opera soprano during 10 years at Brussels Royal Conservatory and continues to be trained 2 hours a day in the same way. She only moved to pop because she is first and foremost a songwriter.
Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar. The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her. It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti). Even Metallica covered it But for many, Lara's version from the concert From Lara With Love 2000 ua-cam.com/video/BP2KnLemT78/v-deo.html is the best ever, as she was able, with her unique ability to convey the emotions of a song, to reveal the real sad story written by Lucio Dalla. I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it. For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Italian is her first native language. Her husband is also sicilian. She also has been living there for the past few months since the end of 2022.
I know this song well and the story behind it. Even though I do not even speak Italian, I almost know the words by heart. I have also heard many covers, including Metallica's whose fan I've been since I was 12 (yes, I am indeed a fan of Metallica even though I love classical music too). I wasn't sure if her mother or her father were Sicilian, so thank you for sharing that with me.

@@AleksReacts Que bueno, se agradece.
You actually helped me out here, so thank YOU! 😊
This performance is from her PBS concert "From Lara with Love (1999)", the same concert as your pervious reaction. When you get around to Lara again check out "Perdere l'amore" ua-cam.com/video/mcmhCfH9OfQ/v-deo.html

Thank you! I'll be sure to watch this video.
Sem legenda eu não assisto!!
I turned on the subtitles days ago.
Somente em inglês.@@AleksReacts
The others are turned on in the settings. That's UA-cam, not me. I think you can turn on Spanish in the settings for autotranslate.
Los demás están activados en la configuración. Eso es UA-cam, no yo. Creo que puedes activar el español en la configuración de traducción automática.
Ma perche non ascoltate l'originale di Lucio Dalla, invece delle copie.....ma per favore....
Oh, but I already heard Lucio Dalla's original years ago. Also, some have said, even Lucio Dalla himself loved Lara's interpretation.
Lucio Dall died in 2012 and Lara sang Caruso in the 1990's. I do not know if it is true that he said that or not, but he could have. Still, the original is always to be respected, although some other versions may be preferred.
@@alfa757perché continui a fare queste brutte figure scrivendo cose e date sbagliate e poi sei il primo a vedere i video delle cover che critichi.......🤷🤦
