I don't get into "best" when it comes to music, I know that's usually code for "favorite" when it comes to the comments section, but no singer affects me the way Lara affects me. Second place would be South Korea's *_great_* Sohyang, but Lara just gets into my soul.

Never seen or heard an artist who can put so much of emotion into the performance like her. She is truly one of a kind.
Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar.
The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her.
It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti).

I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it.
For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian.
i did not know, she is half italian. This explains her italian language skills and why she sing the song, how she sings it.

They do not call her Lara "The Ring" for nothing. No offense to Lara but i think sometimes her neck and head are like perfect for singing structurally - there is little else to explain why she sounds so much better than most other highly talented singers.
@@justingamble3876 i think you are right that she somehow must have an anatomic advantage that amplifies the resonators but it’s also in combination with her classic training that led her to create this circular airflow pattern in the back of her throat.
Many other singers are just singing directly out and would never have the same effect even with a similar anatomy.
Plus she has proven to be exceptionally flexible, almost a contortionist, and this surely plays a role as well.

Absolutely beautiful. As a matter of fact, most of the songs from this concert ("From Lara With Love") are vocal master classes. Check out "Adagio", "Perdere L'Amore" and maybe most especially "Broken Vow".
But please... choose the "restored" live versions. They sound and look so much better than this old thing you found. 😂
Lara is always very sober on stage...She does not have backup dancers. She wears a strict dress code, light makeup, no flashy fingernails, and usually not one or a minimum number of pieces of jewelry on stage.
Her unique very strong but velvety 4.1-octave voice (lyric soprano) whit an exceptional breath control, that is the only thing that the audience receives.
The intensive and emotional performances captivates the audience...

Lara is one of the most underrated singers from the late 80s, the first time I have seen Lara was in 1988 Euro vision song contest at the age of 18 as lead singer in a band she was great but the song was not good enough to win, Celine Dion won that year with 1 point, love Celine but Lara for me had always the better voice but not the right songs for the time, that's the same for the beautiful Morissette Amon, now Adagio is beautiful but BROCKEN VOW is again fantastic, you can see her full concert from Lara with love from Canada 1999 on UA-cam, again fantastic, it's her Italian side of her family that allows her to sing with so much emotion, then the French side sorry Belgium that does exactly the same, still hoping for Mori to break through.

3 things. 1) I love this kind of music, this was ok from Lara. 2) I prefer Jackie Evancho - Caruso (Live) - Two Hearts Album Release 3/31/17 video better. Jackie is more pleasant to look at. 3) Don't let Floor Jansen cover this song or we would forget about these other 2 performances. LOL ......my personal opinion.
