  • Wonderland Eurasia also known as ankapark is the largest theme park in Europe and the second largest in the world. Sitting the middle of the capital of Turkey this $750,000,000 park sits completely abandoned with every attraction, every gift, as well a all of the food completely deserted. Construction started in 2013 on Ataturks forest farm and zoo land and halted several times until 2019 when the park finally decided it was time to open up. Sadly a lack of attendance and financial struggles caused the theme park to close its doors for good only 11 months after the grand opening. The park is now a waste land surrounded by security guards. This is our journey to the largest abandoned theme park in the world.

similar to this theme park, there was a poorly planned "castle village" built in Turkey that cost a huge amount of money and was eventually abandoned. The castles look so out of place with so many of them in a row. They are an ugly eye sore for locals and they want them all torn down.

I was there in November 2019. When I was there, only the Ferris wheel, the go-kart track and a restaurant were open. I talked to a waiter and he told me it was supposedly because it was winter, and that while the weather was just beautiful at the time, But I already noticed that something else was going on.
And after just six months you could already see how overdue the maintenance was. Weeds were everywhere. I really thought it was a shame because as it could be seen, the theming was very nice. So I've been on the Ferris wheel, I won a karting competition and I had a cup of coffee. For the rest I walked around there and it felt like a ghost town.
It's a damn shame because there were really nice attractions and a lot of them. The Theming was just ridiculous, with the amount of detail. Like those Transformer like robots they were really impressive. I just wished there were more ride operating at the time but i guess that was just bad luck.

    • @KCDogs
      @KCDogs 2 роки тому +3

So none of the roller coasters were running? And none of the rides inside those huge domes? Cause thought even if winter the rides inside would operate. That really is a shame that just few months go by after opening and it didn't even operate correctly.

i’m from turkey so i’d like to give some insight for those asking why it’s never been used since i haven’t seen anybody explaining 😊 so first off, the park is located in the capital city of turkey which is not a tourist attraction so it is only for the local people which is absurd. It’s a wishful thinking for the city to become like Paris or LA just because of an amusement park 😅😅 also sadly, it would be naive to call this failure just a wishful thinking. Then mayor of the city is a complete lunatic and wasted government resources without a proper planning to this absurdity while the native folk is actually fighting with poverty. I won’t get into any details but if you know anything about turkish politics and how corrupt the current government is, you know what i’m talking about 😅😅 well let’s just say some rich people got richer.. This place is basically the monument of the imaginery claim of the turkey being a super power on global scale which is far from truth 😅

It's so sad that nobody in this great big world of ours could make this place work. There has got to be somebody that can get this place up and running. It's a shame that it's just going to sit and rot when it has so much potential to be a family fun place for so many. It drives me crazy to see how many abandoned homes, mansions, business's and many more places just sit and rot throughout the world and then there are so many homeless people that can have places to go but nobody is supposed to be in the abandoned buildings.

Their best coaster is an Intamin 10 inversion coaster clone (Colossus at Thorpe Park was the original, it's an exact copy). Obviously the downfall of a park is never something I'd root for as a roller coaster enthusiast but it's not like this park had anything to stand out. I'm honestly a lot more devostated looking at the state of parks like Geagua Lake, Conneaut Lake Park, Williams Grove Park, Six Flags New Orleanes, ect. All parks with unique coasters to make them stand out. On top of various non-coaster related issues, this place needs a Cedar Fair ownership of Canada's Wonderland level turnaround in its coaster lineup to have a chance of success. The fact that I'm more interested in a park with 17 coasters from an urbex standpoint than I am as a coaster enthusiast speaks volumes.

I love your videos, but this is my favourite. It's amazing how no one has decided to reopen this place, it's a ready made park

This place became a victim of Turkish politics. If a good job has been done in Turkey, a newcomer will ruin it.

Go watch Midnight Express. You do not want to end up in a Turkish prison.

No wonder that place closed. It’s the same spinning ride over and over with different animal themes. Those dinosaurs aren’t even animatronic. This whole place was a scam.

It’s really sad to see this fun place go to waste.
Someone mentioned it wasn’t in a tourist location. Too bad someone with more money than they know what to do with wouldn’t consider moving it to a more likely place of use. Yes, it would be Extremely expensive, but makes me wonder if it would be worthwhile to consider?
    Just a thought.
    😕

I would love to visit here when it's open, it looks like a really fun place. One thing I wonder is that maybe Turkish people have a lot of pent up aggression, as seen by the abundance of Punch-It games throughout the complex. I am glad you were not caught, in a place reserved for only the mayor and president, Rigid Type Erdojuan, who has a reputation for torture, extrajudicial executions, and human rights abuses.

The guards are their because dumb people like to destroy everything with spray paint and they like to smash out all windows steal things, ect. ect. ect. I will never understand why people feel the need to ruin things that are not theirs.
You guys are very respectful to every place you visit, and I like that 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
