The interior of this place is beautiful! No dust, no mildew, no water or rot damage. The rooves need to be replaced, but that's the only real damage I can see. This place can be beautiful once again.

This one actually made me cry because if I had ever been blessed with that kind of money this would be the home I would have wanted. The furnishings and everything else. I don’t understand how rich people can just walk away. I can understand if there are tragedies and you can’t come back but how some people can just walk away from everything and just start over fresh like their past or present never existed is beyond my comprehension.

I immediately started thinking about the house I grew up in, and actually got a lil bit depressed because of how much I still want to go home.
These people had no care whatsoever,
      I just don't get it...
Was this place haunted or something..?

So if you had been blessed with money, you would have found appropriateness in the rapacious use of resources, land, and space to go to you alone (referring to the mansion)?

@@mikegarippo7815 I have a very large family and we all would have loved this home and what it offered. When you come from nothing and you don’t have the luxury of having a beautiful home and land it is something to be thankful for. I am very thankful to have what I have but we are in dire need of repairs that we can’t afford because of the cost associated with things in todays world. It probably better that I don’t watch anymore of this videos so that way I won’t be feeling like I am missing out on something I’ll never have. My riches will come in my next life 😊

The guest house is so quaint and charming. Everything left behind as if they had planned to return one day. The mansion must be beautiful too. Thank you. Nice to see your wife. Hope she fully recovers soon.😍

It was beautiful! I can't imagine what the mansion looked like since the guest house was so charming. I saw quite a few exquisite feature and treasures. I simply adored the bathroom with the floral detail and the turquoise jewelry box (did it feel like marble) as well as the kitchen being adorable! It was wonderful to see your lovely wife with you, I hope her path to complete recovery goes smoothly and passes quickly. You guys take care, stay safe & God bless!💕Kat

@@myangelcourtney He showed the guest house. I did look up the mansion and it was beautiful. Though I had seen it before and never new it was located in Chicago or that it had a guest house. It's very sad considering the first video I saw was 3 years ago. Check it out some of the other videos, they are worth it. It's all gone now.

For an abandoned place I am seriously surprised that it wasn't destroyed or broken into for theft.

    • @lw9908
      @lw9908 Рік тому +5

@Didn't Ask...Don't Care It's sad but that's the reality. People have zero respect for anything, including themselves sometimes. They'll break into places that are abandoned just to destroy it or steal what they can. Instead of just being respectful and exploring to admire beauty, they think it's fun to destroy and steal. I'll never understand that mentality.

This is like the 3 or 4th video of yours I watched. I just realized how isolated these multi million dollars homes are from everything and anyone. I see this and just appreciate my 2 bedroom apartment that I can keep up and keep clean. I can just imagine the water, pge, house cleaning, lawn care, property tax and the cost to move everything to another house is mind blowing so I think that is why they just get up and leave with just their valuables and personal belongings. I think these homes should be used for seniors to live in like a resort and not confined in a small room at a convelesant home.

You can think and I think these isn't first place practical homes to homeless and place like this has builded and owned someone, maybe died in trip or jailed and kids have own life's and problems. If you are rich in material but running out of money, then you cannot know how to life without money and things escalets, but place like these are so many around west and everywhere and reasons are for them even more cause one single reason dosen't usually turned like this. And places can survive because material is so overlooked and cannot touch legally anyone maybe, when this happens. Only one who maybe could can be missing somewhere.

Their Horizon Farm held three of the state's top stallions. The family had a high interest in racehorses, which you'll understand a little more when we take a look at the horse farm!
With everything still inside after the owners had died, the land eventually sold for $20 million in 2006 to a couple who thought they could keep up on the payments. The property finally went into foreclosure.

Good video, but why didn't you explore the mansion like the headline said? Would have loved to see more of that, and not just the guest house. And great to see your wife!

This looks like such a cosey and homely place. I love the writing chest at 12:11 (I think that's what they're called)

At what point are you allowed to film and explore? Also, what happens to the items and home after you explore? Have they been purchased, cleaned ? I have so many questions. Are you allowed to take items?

What they do in most cases is, call in salvage people to come and bid on the contents of the house. ( they are not allowed to see what is inside) who ever wins the bid can take whatever they want. After the house is emptied they then bulldoze it down. Salvage yards usually have a store we’re they sell the things they find in houses.

I really hope someone can save this before it turns into another gray gardens, the details and fixtures were very hi end and expensive it’s a shame nobody in architecture got in to remove and salvage the appliances light fixtures bath etc before it gets torn down or whatever happens next, it’s not in too bad a shape … yet, but it will be if someone doesn’t step in, but you can bet I’d be there so fast for those clothes shoes makeup and empty boxes your head would spin !

Lowkey 2:20 that Siren made me jump until I paused the video. I really thought there was a Firetruck passing next to me
