Special thank you to Chris White, who did a fantastic job with the tour and was kind enough to allow me to film him for a special story. Book a tour of your own using the link below and also be sure to go to the Dark Carnival! www.wvlakeshawnee.com/?Link&.com&Mercer%20County%20WV
Great job on the video Mark! I love it! So informative and great shots about everything we learned. This is Jon from Massachusetts that Adalberto and I got to share the amazing experience with you! Thank you so much for the shout out in the video!!!!! Thank you for the advice too and hopefully can get something started. I love your format with them and great commentary! Staying at night was pretty awesome of an experience and the slaughterhouse at the dark carnival was like a horror escape room it was really good and different type of haunted house. We survived the night camping and Chris was great and told us more stories. After we left there we visited and abandoned high school, West Virginia Penitentiary and today went to the Cresson Prison and Sanatorium in Lilly, PA which I highly recommend! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos and I hope we cross paths again!
Thanks so much for watching and reaching out! I’m very jealous I didn’t stay the night and check out the dark carnival. I’m still new to this and need to plan things a bit better but I’m learning! Those places are going to go on my list of places to see next. If you want to start making videos and have any questions feel free to reach out and also we could potentially collab on a video sometime!
I live less than 5 minutes from this place. I just moved to WV from New England. This is awesome and I'll have to look up Chris and check it out ❤ Always bring a offering for the soul's.
Been to Mercer County a couple of times. Spent two nights at the ranger cabin in Camp Creek State Forest. Had a good feeling. Had my German Shepherd Ben with me.
Hello im native American from Az..i found your video after watching leave the world behind 😂. Its crazy to see they built an amusement park on burial grounds .
@@pioneer_productions yeah they have a easteregg in the movie if u scan the Usa map that looks like a barcode it has an article about the Amusement park
When they flash the map of the US there’s a hidden QR code taking us to the Abandoned amusement park lake Shawnee site. Maybe something about the history is another hint of what’s going to happen…
@@pioneer_productions you definitely should! I had my hair touched in between the bus & the old ticket booth. Gaylord came thru the spirit box over by the swing. He gave me his first and last name, repeated a word I asked him for and when I asked how many spirits were with us he said 5. Very cool place for sure :)
I've been delayed Shawnee multiple times I grew up 5 miles away from there. It is very, very haunted, but in a good way. The spirits are peaceful there. 16:03
Been there several times. THers definately something going on there.I could feel it and i saw ghostly Firey apparitions.Need to be there in the evening and after dark
I regret not staying the night so much. Whole trip felt a little rushed so I didn’t get the fulltime to really take everything in. I absolutely will stay the night next time
That's awesome! Im going Saturday, and staying all night! Im bringing offerings to the Natives and toys for the children. Much respect to your family.❤
I was visiting there a few years back from California. Mitchell and Phoebe Clay were my 6th great-uncle and aunt, and their children were my 5th great-cousins. I wanted to see where the massacre took place. I felt like you did in that it didn't feel creepy to me, but I scared the living crap out of my friend. He didn't want to go into the park and stayed in the car instead. I was walking back to get into the vehicle while he was reading, and my shadow crossed his line of sight. His scream made me laugh the entire ride back to the hotel.😂
That’s amazing! I really think it has to do with the atmosphere of the day I went. It was late October but easily the nicest day of the month. Sunny 70 degrees light breeze etc. I think had I stayed the night I would have felt a lot different. I definitely plan on going back!
Yes… a indian burial, i dont believe in curses or so per se. But so many strange things happen around these burial grounds. Its not hard to think maybe there is something strange about it. Edit: about the cola… if its regular cola the sugar amount will keep it from freezing. Try it youreself make so popsicles with and without sugar and you will see one will freeze and the wont or really slow ^^.
Idk if I can believe the Shawnee burned the kids. straight up, not theyre way of doing things. I can only think that family was so terrible it was revenge but even still. That is so far from their beliefs. Sounds like propaganda to prop up the ‘savage’ narrative.
The lands dangerous bc of ancient being, they r everwhere certain areas, so if someone tells u a place is sacred, dont go there and set up camp, if u do, oh well, u received a warning.....smh 🤦♀️

I wondered why this video started getting traffic it sat at like 1,000 views for a year then recently jumped up from searches so that explains it!

WOW! Lots of history ! Great visuals in videos! Keep up the great work Mark! Fan of both channels! 👍👍👍
Thanks so much Jason! I really appreciate your support of both my channels!
Great vid Mark!! Looks like a really cool place that has some tragic stories. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Justin! Place was amazing with very sad and rich history. For sure worth the visit if you’re ever in the area
Hey Mark! Great explanation of what took place at Lake Shawnee and video.
Thank you!
Who else came here from the movie leave the world behind?
This video has randomly had a spike in views over the past few weeks. Was the movie about this place or referenced it in some way?
@@pioneer_productions in the movie they show a scene on a news thing and a QR code that brings you to a website about this abandoned park
When they flash the map of the US there’s a hidden QR code taking us to the Abandoned amusement park lake Shawnee site. Maybe something about the history is another hint of what’s going to happen…
Never seen it
Maybe the land should be given back to the leaders of the Shawnee Tribe first nation.
I like that idea!
Agreed!
Or given back to my family.
I spent the night and investigated there last summer. Probably the most peaceful place I’ve ever been. Chris is awesome! Will definitely go back :)
That’s so awesome! I wish I had stayed the night I definitely plan on doing that next time!

My grandparents Mitchell and Phoebe clay owned this place in the 1700s

That’s incredible! I loved this place and will definitely be going back
Have you met Michael green? The comment above you he States their his great aunt and uncle six times past
Apparently, we're distant cousins.😊👍
Mitchell clay is my 7th grand grandpa

Did you see the comment below you. They say that those people were their great grandparents
Anybody know the history about that van? I’ve never heard anything about it. I know about everything else in the park but not the van.
No clue! Chris didn’t mention anything about it and no one in my group asked
The van or the RV? They say a guy stayed in the RV and they did a TV show on it but it was pretty boring
@@jodikennedy1472 just the van I was wondering
It’s probably were they kidnapped the kids to take them to the park and traffic them.

Yup these people make up stories so you can come visit their “haunted” theme park and pay money. They are rich for telling made up stories
I can’t confirm or deny either way! Just tried to rely the info I was told and read about for this video
This place looks creepy!
It was so interesting! Definitely worth the visit if you’re ever in the area
