    Very informative video! I’ve heard for the install of the data cable you need to use a bridge for cable segregation inside the dado trunking?

      Yes most AM2 rigs will have the segregation section with the Dado.

    Hi, what would the fault be if only the sub unit showed that two numbers were missing? This came up on my AM2S

      I had exactly the same still don’t know what the answer is. Did you ever find out?

      Two strands only connected at one data outlet?

      This could be an open circuit on 2 separate cores. Were the lights flashing in a different slot or simply blank on two numbers?

      do you fail the am2 if you identify that there is a fault on the terminations but dont exactly specify between which conductors?

    Hi great video. Would just like to know where you bought that testing kit from. I can't seem to find it on the net

      Mills have everything in relation to data systems.

    On the fault where 3 and 6 flash up at the same time would that be classified as a short circuit or wrong connection

      Hi Ethan, Thanks for your comment.
      You could class this as a short circuit and this is due to a "wrong connection"

    Hey, how does it tell you if it’s Point A or point B which has the fault? Thank you.

    • @XSTrainingLtd
      @XSTrainingLtd  Рік тому

      Hi Ryan, thanks for your question. This would be a visual check. The basic testing equipment would only tell you what the fault is. If you wanted to check this on site a TDR would be needed. A fluke would tell you if the fault was near or far end. Hope that helps

      Thanks , just wanted to verify if it told you which specific outlet the fault was on as the AM2s want it very specific. Thanks for your reply.

    Does anyone know what you have to do for nvq portfolio? About to start the course for AM2 rules n regs etc but I want to get a head start on my nvq before I officially start it .

    • @jamiegibbs5348
      @jamiegibbs5348 4 роки тому +1

      Hi Georgia,
      The NVQ is an evidenced based qualification which requires you to collect photographic evidence of your installation work, covering either 3 or 5 cables and containments depending on the NVQ you select. If you have less than 5 years experience and have the Level 2 and 3, 2330 or 2365 or EAL equivalent, you need to select the 2357. If you have over 5 years experience and have a Part 1 or 2, 236, Level 2, 2330 or 2365 or EAL equivalent and 18th edition regs you can apply for the 2356-99 experienced worker NVQ. The NVQ will also have observations to ensure you meet industry standards. At XS Training we pride ourself on supporting the trade and ensuring experienced operatives are out in the field. Please find more information at www.xstraining.com
      Cheers
      Jamie

      Great video what conduit do you have to do in the am2s

    • @jamiegibbs5348

      @@confirmedgamer5757 Hi, the AM2s is for apprentices commonly on the 5357. The AM2s allows you an additional 1.5 hours on top of the original time for the install. You need to install a section of PVC Conduit and Steel Conduit. Hope this helps.

      Don't know if this will help you, but if you are on Facebook, put up a post asking to volunteer to do the NVQ. I did that two years ago, and I got a reply from someone who put me in touch with a company called Taurus Electrical, based in the Midlands. The owner contacted me, and even though I offered to work for free simply to get my NVQ evidence, he took me on and paid me £10.00 an hour. During my time with Taurus, on a contract at Ellesmere Port near Liverpool, I got to do wiring, install three distribution boards, install lights, containment, and to do inspection and testing under supervision. I got lots of photographs, and witness statements from the electricians I was working with. The NVQ part of my training has now been submitted, but unfortunately I failed my AM2, which I will need to get my gold card. The AM2 costs £685.00, so I won't be retaking it until I have got the money, and most important, prepared thoroughly this time.
