- Lately a lot of you have asked if I could create a video showing the process of how I make my stencils. I finally took the time to shoot some video. This is bits and pieces of a 10 layer stencil I just finished. Drop a comment, let me know what you think!
Fantastic insight into cutting stencils - which is an art form in itself. I just wish there is an alternative to Adobe as I won’t pay subscriptions for any software. Either I buy it or I don’t.
this was great ! iv been cutting so many stencils in the past month that iv lost sence in my longfinger xD great work dude!
Kinda new to the party here, LOL your work is fantastic! My question is where do you get the cardstock that big? I can’t find anything that large that doesn’t cost a fortune. And I can’t imagine you spend a ton on a piece that only has a few small cutouts on it.
Thank you so much to share your art !
Top 10 Excellent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is no one going to mention how old the version of his windows system is xd
first thing that comes to mind: Geez! Windows XP... good times!
It’s the computer part that’s hardest for me
actually that"s very easy on adobe illustrator lizzy

Thanks
None of that makes sense :D but good work! I need to really figure this out, I don't know how you printed those pages to create such a large image. And then you cut each color out of the same taped together pages which is even harder to understand. great results though wish we could get an extreme advanced tutorial.
Thanks, I'll consider doing a tutorial with more detail
Thomas Vigil please do another tutorial, very impressed by the amount of work, time and detail that goes into your stencils. Assuming you have a standard a4 printer so the taping is as opposed to printing a larger image?
OMG U WERE IN MY CLASS ROOM TODAY THOMAS VIGIL
Awesome, I hope I inspired you!
@@ThomasVigil YOU DID 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Do you cut all layers from the same printed image or do you print a new image for each layer? Also if you are cutting them all from the same printed image, do you start cutting dark to light or light to dark?
I use the same print out for all layers. That way if i make changes while I cut it translates to each layer. I just use tape to preserve the template. Usually go with the color that covers most of the image first after that I will go from light to dark. Ending with black usually makes the entire image pop.
Thomas Vigil wow thank you so much. Fantastic art btw
@@ThomasVigil What kind of paper do you use for stencils?
@@Eaton.Beaver 150 pound cover stock. Brand and color don't matter much, but I use Hammermill because its a good paper and I use Manila color because it's cheap.
@@ThomasVigilso tape on whole image all over and than cut.? Jeez... Its been 5 yrs and im asking😅
i have two issue here it would be great if you help me here please
the first one if you make many layers do cut it by x-acto its hard process
the second one is how to make big stencil size ? because when i enlarge the png file to many a4 sheets show pixlation and not clear tho .. thanks in advance
Yes, your correct. Cutting a lot of stencils by hand can be very difficult. Also, I do my color separation in Adobe Illustrator because it changes the image from a raster image to a vector image. You can enlarge a vector image as big you'd like with no pixelation what so ever
Thomas Vigil many thanks 🙏 I follow your advice and found out the Vector file is good crystal clear and get in another issue , the rasterbator site doesn’t accept these kind of files only png and I don’t know how to enlarge image to multiple pages (SVG file)
