Week of cleaning up my property video/s🤔🤔🤔 I believe that that would be very satisfying and nice to watch🤷♂️
I tried to warn you about this multiple times In the past. Ferals are carriers of disease even if they live through they are carriers. Stress will bring out the sickness again and kill of more than half the flock. I said it was a matter of time before it happens. Most important part is that the lesson was learned. You have my Insta DM with questions and concerns. I sent you pictures of my loft and champion bird.
What were the symptoms of the sickness?
@@andreitamas6808 man I told him too, I think it was PMV or else salmonella
@@tonycropper4387 sounds like it to me too.
over crowing
@@TerryGShaw overcrowding and especially sick ferals killing off the rest.
More videos of this please🙏👍👍
I would love to see a cleaning video time lapse of the farm. I'll think it'll bring a lot more views as well.
Sorry to hear the bad news mate. Sounds like you probably had Paramyxovirus (PMV) unfortunately, a very deadly disease. The racers and domestic birds would most likely have been vaccinated, which is why they would have been fine.
Please do more camping videos in the farm happy new year
Yess!!!
Awesome
Great video Jordan as usual ! I wanted to give you some advice on going in the pigeon barn ,make sure to wear a real good mask before getting in it ,there is a lot of pigeon dust in there and in the long run it'll give you big time respiratory problems ,keep the kids out of there too just a friendly advice !
Thanks for the advice! Information is always welcome!
Best advice ever 👍. I caught the pigeon cough from over exposure of pigeon dust so bad as a kid I couldn’t talk for a wk and my throat hurt like heck . Always wear respirator now wen cleaning my coop no matter how clean I think my coop is .
15 min left of deer hunting for me just popped in to say hi
Happy New Year to you and all your family.
Thank you for all your videos throughout 2020 and for keeping us entertained during this lockdown.
May 2021 bring you all health and happiness, and grow your channel into awesomeness.
Stay well and stay safe.

What I like is watching someone making use of resources of his/her mind, of his land, of what the universe gives around him/her to make his/her way into life ... my favorite topics are homesteading and draft horses .... but ... pigeons....hmmm....
I'm happy I've find your channel ....
If I had to choose my favorite UA-camrs it would be YOU then FLAIR and finally BOBBY
Lots of pigeons + tiny place = disease !
Same scenario that happened in Wuhan 😂😂😂😂😂
Hi Jordan, a good farm tour. The goats look very well! Sorry you lost a lot of your pigeons. It could have been due to canker. This is the main killer of pigeons and there are several more, all of which are transmitted through infected food or droppings. So, a feral brought in could quite easily carry a disease and should be isolated for some time, to ensure the health of the rest of the flock. When you first noticed a few deaths you should have had the corpses tested by a vet to ascertain the cause of the problem, as we do when quite a few pheasant poults die in the pen. We've been making pheasant and pork burgers, Jordan, they are very tasty wish we could send you some! If you would like we can send you the recipe. Just let us know! Stay safe and well and we hope 2021 is all the things that 2020 wasn't! Malc and Ann (England) UK xxx
Before you move any pigeons into the big barn where the feral's were go and buy a few gallons of a product called VIRCON X won't be real cheep but it will kill any bacteria or viruses that are in your loft that's probably going to be the most effective and pigeon friendly means to eradicate whatever disease you've had. Question were any of the pigeons heads down but trying to twist back up or any on there backs with headphones up, can't fly head constantly wobbling or vibrating so to speak if so you've had pigeon paramoxi disease 🤔 there is another disease that will wipe you out but I'm not sure what it's called sorry hope this helps
Think of the losses as a steep learning curve. Whatever it was be thankful that it wasnt airborne or ud have lost the Modenas and Frillbacks as well. I think you should get rid of the lot up in the top barn except the old racers and clean it all out fully. You dont know if what's left are carriers of the disease or if the disease is sitting dormant in the top barn.put the extra time into your racers. Flying them is way better than just looking at them . Look to build a better racing loft . Put your time into them . Why dont u explore something we spoke about months ago , quail or something different in the top barn . Good eating.....
Good luck whatever u do .👍
Sorry for your losses always hard to lose birds. Sounds like PMV. Sometimes better to follow the old adage of less and better - less birds and more attention / care. The best livestock eat just as much as the worst ones!
Do more pigeon video I like pigeons such as Birmingham roller pigeons and racing pigeons
Jordan I HAVE TOLD YOU THAT WOULD HAPPEN
I bet it was kanker that came through just based on the way you housed your birds (no hate) but when you get new birds your suppose to wait a couple of weeks to introduce them to ur other birds and also the wild birds could have brought it too
Jordan i wonder what Adam Acher has to say for himself now that when i said to seperate those pigeons because they will bring you discease he knows nothing about pigeons the same as my ass knows about snipe shooting and thats definatly nothing we race our pigeons we vacinnate our pigeons againt all deceases sorry to hear about your lose it a rookey misake go to a vet and ask for some vaccinations for them
It's 854am 1st January and it's cold
Great vids keep up the good work happy new year good by 2020
Pigeons would have been better left in the wild /you had to many and needs a good clean out /your hole farm cross contamination all over the place
Well let me tell you were you went wrong at when you start trapping cause it happened to me but i really hope you come back really really strong
Could you clip there wings
just trap more ferals, diseases are pretty rare, and less prevalent in the winter, so do it now while it is still cold and diseases pick back up again
Hey Jordan I was wondering if you know a trusted website to buy pigeons
Keep these coming any video is a good video!
oh yes, and quaranting new birds will help
Pmv. All you have to do is trap one contaminated one and it will wipe you out like that.
A doença que deu aos pombos foi FOME
i think somebody has already stated it- every time you bring a new bird into the loft it should be quarantined for a week or more, you also need to get them vaccinated regularly either by injection or medicating them via drinking water regularly. it was probably a bacterial infection which always affects particularly young females first
Perhaps you need to vacation the birds cool video
73rd yes update for the Pigeon
how can you name something and eat them for lunch or dinner someday? cool farm dude.
I meant a trusted website to purchase pigeons
Can I buy some of ur racing pigeons or roller pigeons
Your pigeons are Beautiful
Coccidiosis could be the culprit
I love the pigeons, the animals are being moody jeez
Great video, thanks J. I swear there's like one guy roaming around UA-cam thumbs downing really good outdoorsy videos. He's either a hoodie or beard-o-phobiac I'm certain...
I want to now which pigeon and dove I should get
Your goat family are growing
When are you gonna show us the new shotgun kinda excited to see what it is
ur birds is nice
iff i have that birds im happy
Jordan really be making our year alive and making us enjoy his awesome and mixed content
I am honestly surprised that you didn’t have any diseases sooner. I was hoping you wouldn’t have to deal with that. One reason why you should always quarantine new birds from auctions shows other lofts. Because some of these diseases come in quick and take out your whole flock even quicker. Glad you got everything cleared up
He needs to vaccinate all his birds for the deadly PMV virus & then vaccinate them again in 6 to 8 weeks for lifetime immunity.
That brown bird with the splashes of white is beautiful.
are you still trapping?
AND ONE OF YOUR VIEWERS GIVE ME ABUSE
So sad to hear lots of your Pigeon died
Avian flu possibly?
Could be a number of things that caused the illness in your pigeons. Over crowding, not enough ventilation and yes, feral birds carry a number of diseases. Next time you decide to add more birds feral or ones you get from an auction add some supplements to their water. Add crushed garlic cloves, fresh lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and maybe suss out tractor supply or another poultry supply place and get some antibiotics or additives to improve pigeon health.
This is true for the current health of a pigeon if the problem is maybe canker or a disease that is not a big deal. But if the birds get parantyphliod or any other big disease they become carriers even if they survive. Buy from a trusted racer or breeder that you know keeps a healthy and comfortable loft. Never introduce ferals!
I was waiting for this video
I am thinking about getting a pigiegn
Cool Jordan! An old old farmer friend told me once if you have live stock, you will have dead stock sometimes.
Looks like what ever it was it's gone now or the birds are immune.
On the breeding of homers.... if you breed your best bird to 2 different mates, then breed the offspring. You should get a nice flock similar to your best bird. Some better but some really better. Then repeat the process with the best birds. Fun to think you could breed up a million dollar bird. Check out "Red Star loft" and "Danny". I think they have good content like you on UA-cam.
PMV can hit again, no bird is immune.
@@lokolofts8901 More? Don't leave us hanging!
@@rodneyjack3309 I've been raising pigeons for more than half of my life, PMV can hit again. Birds don't develop an immunity to it, some of the surviving birds will carry the virus for months.
@@lokolofts8901 so do all of the birds eventually die or do you have to destroy them because they become debilitated?
@@rodneyjack3309 most of the time they are put down.
A mass die off is usually PMV. The heads start twisting and by day 2 or 3, most will die.
From the experience of fanciers around me, it wouldn't be wise to rehabilitate birds previously infected.
Even if they have recovered, they will carry the virus for months. Sometimes, their squabs will catch it by the time they start feathering out.
Most common ways of getting PMV is either due to bringing in strays that still carry it, or rats getting in and peeing on feed.
It wouldn't be wise to keep those that were infected.
Sanitizing the loft, and separating those infected should do the trick. The infected are better put down, than to go back into a population where a pandemic can start over again.
A mass die off is usually PMV. From the experience of fanciers all around me who have had it, it is better to put down those infected, even if the infected ones were the best bird in your loft.
Like all of it Jordan
Do a farm update ever week
Woooo
Corona in your lofts?
Can u put more video
Enjoyed the update
Love the pigeons video
Dude, clean up the sht
I missed the pigeons
Sheeew my guy
About time
Bird flu??
Bird flu
Trapping?
Losing birds sucks but you’ll be able to get more. Maybe they got COVID. Lol good luck Jordon your doing great man.
Thanks
I admire your honesty, anyone who keeps livestock has ups and downs. There was always a chance of disease from the ferals,
but just as easy to be from the auction birds.
All the best for the New Year - keep them coming 👍
Hello.
