Changed my oil today 7k miles no metal from the pan and my magnetic drain plug was clean. I don’t know about the filter because I use a plastic cup to finish taking it off and catch it.

I did my oil change yeaterday,8000 miles, also has some really small metal in the oil,can not even see it but you can feel it,I think it ia normal

Was it from the oil pan or when you took off the oil filter. Yeah I agree, I think some small metal parts is normal wear but I’m not sure if my big particles are just form the oil filter and not metal parts sitting in the oil pan.

@@4enthusiasts I think it is from the oil pan, because those metal are at the bottom of the oil catch pan, I never put oil filter in it so I think it is directly from oil pan

Will motul x-cess 5w-40 gen2 work for my stock 2016 Sti Limited?

Yes definitely. My STI’s engine is pretty much stock besides some modifications that improve reliability (AOS, Oil pickup). A lot of people like to run Motul 5W-40 after Subaru released that the STI S209 comes from the factory with Motul 300V 5W-40. The thicker 40 weight oil is better for these cars as they see most of the time in the higher rpm. Of course each engine is different so running 30 or 40 weight varies depending on your conditions 👍 I’ve been running 5W-40 for the past 4 oil changes and it’s been working great. Would recommend a more frequent interval if your car sees aggressive driving at higher rpm for slot of times 👍

@@4enthusiasts running Motul X-Cess Gen 2 as well, have you compared any other oils? I've used LM Molygen previously, plenty of mid-range torque not so much power up top compared to Motul.

You can jack up your car from the 4 pinch welds on the sides of the car or for the front jack up from the center brace or in the rear on the rear differential
