For anyone having issues with the CSL DD (and I assume CSL DD PRO) * Not being able to calibrate the H-pattern mode of the SQ 1.5 shifter: (1) Try with the short cable provided with the shifter. (2) If unsuccessful, unmount the wheel base, hold it tightly between your legs and try with short cable. ** Wheelbase or steering wheel disconnects in driver page or FFB/buttons/pedals quit working in-game: - on pc - (1) Connect the wheelbase with a wheel mounted and turn it on. (2) Open the driver page. (3) If everything seems connected, tighten the black C-clamp on the wheelbase shaft a bit (or to 15Nm torque) and see if the issue persists (4) If the issue persists or something shows to be disconnected: Loosen the black C -clamp on the wheelbase shaft till you can rotate it slightly without too much effort. (5) Rotate the clamp gently till the driver page shows everything connected (6) Tighten the black C-clamp on the wheelbase shaft a bit (or to 15Nm torque) and see if the issue persists I've had both issues, where the disconnection issues got worse and worse till the both of my wheels showed disconnected permanently. And after a month of trying drivers/firmware/usb-ports etc. these solutions solved my issues. *** On my initial fresh install of my CSL DD with Boost kit, the FFB was very weak. This was resolved quickly for me by uninstalling and re-installing the drivers again.
Great review! Been looking to upgrade from my g29 to this! Just started sim racing this past spring! I play f1 and GT so having the f1 wheel is a must for me but you mentioned it not locking in place. What’s the special lock you need or is that hub on it just sit weird on the dd pro? Are there other hubs for the f1 wheel that don’t require a locking mechanisms to hold it in place? Thanks in advance!
What do you think fellow SimRacers? I'm thinking on the big switch from Thrustmaster to FANATEC because the DD technology, but the switch is pricey as hell... 🤔 Let me explain my dilemma: Now I have the Thrustmaster T-300RS with the T-LCM load cell pedals on my rig, with 3 different Thrustmaster rims. I play on PC with one OLED TV, and Gran Turismo on PlayStation 4 Pro. (This shows my budget for simracing at the moment...) So if I want to switch, I need to pay minimum 850 euro for the DD (5nm) and the FANATEC load cell pedals upgrade (load cell is a must have!) Meanwhile the Thrustmaster T-GT II Servo base (on its own) is half of that price = 450 euro. And honestly I really need just a better wheelbase... T-GT II base is not direct drive of course, but it's 6,5 newtonmeters of torque (measured by Ron). The FANATEC DD Pro is weaker (5nm) but it's direct drive. And of course I can buy the 8nm power supply but that's another +150 euro, so the switch from Thrustmaster to FANATEC in my case is about 1000 euro. What do you think fellow SimRacers? Is it worth to invest twice as much for the direct drive???
personally I think though t-gt's torque might be on par, being belt-driven they are not comparable, and build quality is lacking compared w/ fanatec. I swapped from T300RS to dd and the smoothness is not on the same level. If it was me I would def swap if I can and possibly sell the previous rig.
I have the same exact setup as you. T300 ferrari alcantara with lcm loadcell. Its a nice setup though not as great as the new DD. But damn it looks ugly like a toy wheel and the pedals are week in my opinion only 60 kilos of pressure. I would rather go for the wheelbase of the t-gt 2 and stay in the same system or just be happy with your setup. The grass is always greener on the other side right. Really great review! As someone that tried a number of different wheels and wheel bases I'd like to ask you if it's worth upgrading from T-GT II to this wheel ( DD Pro)? But this question comes with a little different angle. I've just completed my whole Thrustmaster ecosystem with the best gear this company has to offer with aforementioned T-GT II wheel base, TSS Handbrake, TH8A shifter, T-LCM pedals and.....two days later Fanatec had announced their Playstation compatible entry level DD wheel in form of the DD Pro. Now I'm happy with my setup performance both in Dirt Rally 2.0 (with Sparco 383 rim) and Gran Turismo (with TM Open wheel add-on) but since all this gear I can still sell for a good price I wonder if the difference in performance between these two bases is worth spending extra money especially when I'm still the beginner-level sim racer? Or maybe will be worth waiting for Thrustmaster DD wheel base or just wait some time to get better at this sim-racing thing and then when I will really need to get serious switch to Fanatec? What are your thoughts? Anyway If I decide to this change right now I will certainly buy DD Pro wheel base with 8Nm power supply, newest CSL pedals with LC brake and two rims WRC and Mclaren GT3 and of course shifter (I already own Fanatec handbrake). Thanks in advance for your reply.
From the tgt II to the csl dd is a very small upgrade. Only move if you also want to jump ecosystems. In your shoes I wouldnt, especially since its such a new wheel.

So my question is am i going to feel a huge difference using this Fanatec DD wheel compared to my TGT ?? Although i have my force feedback quite light i still feel the different road surfaces like going from gravel to tarmac to snow and ice etc etc considering the amount it has cost me to have the set up i have is the difference going to be worth all the extra money ?? to be honest if thrustmaster produced a DD wheel for the ps5 i would certainly stick with thrustmaster untill say the tgt packed up ?? thankyou for any helpfull comments in advance !!

Can someone explain the difference between each level of wheel base? Is it just the higher more pricey one has stronger forcefeedback? I’m new to sim racing. Have simple set up and want more. Right now I like low forcefeedback. Especially as I play rally games. I don’t want to buy most expensive wheelbase if it’s just stronger feedback but I also don’t want to buy cheaper 1 in case I’m missing anything. For instance there’s a 5nm and 8 nm version. What does this mean?
Has anyone used the club sport shifter SQ1.5 with this. I have one but I’m having problems with it jumping into neutral when using H pattern and clutch. I also have trouble calibrating the H pattern. It’s brand new and I’m struggling to get a refund on the shifter. I only have GT Sport to try it on. Want to know if anyone else is having issue
It may seem weak, but you're comparing it to a belt driven wheel base. If both the belt driven wheel base and CSL DD/ Pro were exactly the same Nm rating, the belt driven wheel setup would still lose that battle because the direct drive wheelbase will not suffer from the same dampening effects inherent in belt based systems. You would end up feeling the details the belts essentially muffle or make weaker in this regard, no matter how big or small of a benefit making that jump may be. However I would recommend as a CSL DD owner myself, that the boost kit be the option to purchase because it gives more headroom and more freedom to modify effects if needed, compared to the 5 Nm variation. The 8Nm power pack also brings out more midrange details that the 5Nm power pack won't be able to produce adequately(like when kerbs are run over)
Why did assetto corsa not give you ffb? Its always worked for me. Lol its the best exeperience on console. Gt7 on the other hand is so weak in comparison. So weird how expereinces differ so much.
Hello! I am currently using the Thrustmaster T150 with the shifter seen in your video. Is it compatible with the DD Pro? That would be huge since I really want to upgrade to a dd-wheel and love the shifter.
Does this work for Xbox? Or do you just need to change the wheel to an Xbox wheel on that base? I was always wondering because I have both Xbox and ps5
According to Fanatec’s website description they place xbox security chips in wheels and PS compatibility stuff in wheelbases so you will need an Xbox compatible wheel to go with the base

Hey random, do you think the Wheel Stand Pro (with RGS) can handle the CSL DD with the boost kit? I'm thinking about upgrading from the T300 next year.
I also considered the wheel stand pro but went another route. If you don't have the wheel stand yet, I'd say save up for something built with extruded aluminum. I purchased an Advanced Sim Racing ASR1 extruded aluminum cockpit(rated by them for up to 5nM, but of course they underrated it to make buyers buy the ASR3) with my 8Nm CSL DD side mounted to it and even at full power I notice next to no flex from the 4040 extruded aluminum rig, possibly because I side mounted the wheel base and added the supported shifter arm as well which helped with rigidity. If I were to purchase a rig again, though, I would have gone with the basic one from Rig Metal since it looks stronger due to thicker aluminum pieces for nearly the same price in the USA

The 8Nm power pack also brings out more midrange details that the 5Nm power pack won't be able to produce adequately(like when kerbs are run over)
How it works on F1 games?
for someone who already got a CSL DD would a drivehub work for the playstation compatibility
yep
Do you know if the gt wheel works with a csw 2.5 base on pc ?
No but it should
Why did assetto corsa not give you ffb? Its always worked for me. Lol its the best exeperience on console. Gt7 on the other hand is so weak in comparison. So weird how expereinces differ so much.
The rim is very ugly, but it's nice playstation players now have another great choice for a wheel.
quite similar to the tgt 2 rim, so I guess the design is from digital polyphony maybe?
design by pd
Can you use other Fanatec playstation compatible steering wheels to play the new gran turismo7 ? any downsides ?
yes
The wheel actually looks cheap, I’m waiting untill I can get it all separately because I’d like the McLaren wheel
Same here
Hello! I am currently using the Thrustmaster T150 with the shifter seen in your video. Is it compatible with the DD Pro? That would be huge since I really want to upgrade to a dd-wheel and love the shifter.
The wheel really should have been leather or alcantara...rubber at this price isn't going to cut it...
If it has true force, I would of got one. But no I went with the Logitech Pro Wheel
😂😅😂
can anyone tell me what company makes the manual shifter at 3:32?
5:25 What mode did you test ACC for console?

can i use this for GT SPORT?

@@randomcallsign Thanks very much man
Me before the review; why the hell would someone spend this much money on a race wheel?
Me after the review; alright where do I buy this thing
Hey random, do you think the Wheel Stand Pro (with RGS) can handle the CSL DD with the boost kit? I'm thinking about upgrading from the T300 next year.
If not you can always turn the ffb down until you get something better to use it with.
@@Khans0120 I have it for almost a year :)
I don't have the space for a proper rig. :)
What game is shown at 7:35 in the video? And is it PS or PC?
Assetto Corsa PC. no, this track doesnt exist in the consoles nor can it be instaleld.
@@randomcallsign Cheers! Thanks for the reply!
Would this work on Dirt rally 2.0 and f1 2021?
Sadly no, it only works on gran turismo and Fifa 19
So the csl dd pro is the same as the normal dd but the pro is for ps?
yes
@@randomcallsign ok thx
Will this gt dd pro be any good for F1 2021?
Ofc
Does this mean GT7 is coming to pc?
No
Logitech GT pro seems like a more bang for the buck then
would this rim work on a DD! thes ame way on GT& on ps5?
It works correctly on pc. On the dd1 ps version it only has the basic functions.
@@randomcallsign what would be missing if used on aa DD1 on PS?
Will the force feedback work for F1 2021?
Yes.
Why does it have the Xbox buttons and not PS buttons? PS should be ABYX surely?
ABYX is Xbox
Does the 8nm work ok on a desk?
Yes. I'll be doing a video soon about that
Can you assign d pads for other games on ps5 like assetto corsa or project cars 2?
Not on ps5, no.
@@momorious that is disapointing...
@@niedzial1983 should not be a surprise when it's a limitation by the game and the games are end of life so they no longer get updates.
For consoles, game developers have to implement this specific wheel into the game to have it fully supported.
