I love these professionally done animations of various processes. Like Fenderprecision stated, I learned more in 1.5 minutes than a several hours of Lab. I wish there were more of this type of videos
Mitosis a type of cell (body cells) division which result in two daughter cells being produced, each the same as the parent nucleus. It creates identical cells, also known as clones. Mitosis take approximately 24 hours to complete. There are six stages of Mitosis: Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase and Cytokenesis. After cytokenesis, cells may differentiate by shaping and developing in a way which it can take up it's specialist function. Mitosis is responsible for organism growth, replacing damaged or dead cells and asexual reproduction. (My test is in two days).
this was really good, now finally i can remember mitosis easily, jus watched thru da vid a few times, with the drawings in front of me, and now i kno it all :D thanxx
are the x things that form from DNA chromsoomes or sister chromatids? are chromosomes = sister chromatids?? when the x splits into two v's are those chromosomes?
Wow. Watching that video explained 60 minutes of my teacher jumping around the whiteboard like a prepubescent ape and writing diagrams and arrows. Good job. That really helped.
"Microscopic tug of war" "with amazing accuracy" "for reasons scientists don't fully understand" dramatic instrumental background music that matches the emotional rollercoaster that is mitosis. Honestly, this deserves an award. Ppornelubio always providing the best content. Love you xx
So before all this, the chromosomes must have replicated (So there were 92 chromosomes inside the human), correct? Otherwise, the cell would have started with one chromosome and ended with one chromatid. Please, someone tell me. Thanks.
Thanks for that useful information. I think this video is a bit old, though. My old biology book said something similar that research is still being done to find out why the nuc envelope disintegrates.
@cardcaptorzlove my biology lecturer uses UA-cam videos to demonstrate what he is explaining on numerous occasions, it can be a very reliable source as long as you already have a certain understanding of it.
I would have liked to have posted a link to this on my blog for my 8th grade class. Too bad I can't because of the course language some posters have chosen to use on it.
vukbui1987 - also during anaphase, the kinetochores do not "pull" each sister chromatid toward either side, but as the sister chromatid move toward the two sides, the kinetochores break down. Where did you get this information? Because in the books that I have read about mitosis, they speak of a shortening of the kinetochores-microtubuli, meaning that the chromatides are being pulled to each side. The spindle breaks down in the telophase. I don't see any need for a correction in the vid.
these sound effects are going to give me nightmares...
Why is there creepy horror music
halloween
This is a really creepy way of showing how mitosis works.
microscopic tug-of-war...that's kinda deep man
Who else has a mitosis test tomorrow haha
Giorgos Drek mine is tomorrow lol
Mine is tomorrow Lol
+SoniaIsMyName5 me
+SoniaIsMyName5 tommorrow lmao
me too

I love the Twilight Zone-ish music for this.
It's like "ooohhh weeeeoohhhhh there's an alien making this video woooooeeeeohh"
"And that's where peanuts come from..."
Fascinating ! I love this video so much !
Watching this makes me more understand about mitosis. Thanks uploader!

this vid is very informative and easy to understand the process of mitosis... top vid!
this video is great! its so cool to be able to see mitosis in action instead of just reading about it :)
this music makes me feel like I'm entering the twilight zone
Nice video, it gives great visuals. Thanks!
Awesome Video, very clear & concise, good commentary, Thanx!
who else has to watch this 15 years later
this is good and well made
it was very helpful to me for my science quiz
Cool !
This video make me understand in Mitosis.
Finally! I've been lookin for this forever :P ty
its amazing and very useful too!!!!!!
That's amazing. It almost looks angelic.
Luv it!
simple video and great narration! its really great for my exams! books got owned.
this music is amazing
The combo between the music, the video, and the fact that this is all real makes this the trippiest shit I have ever seen in my life haha
this is amazing for some reason.
THIS IS VERY HELPFUL
I'm a bio major and pre-med and just did this...EXCELLENT DETAIL...Wow, youtube really does have EVERYTHING!!!
Amazing mechanism !!!!
i also did not know there were such educational videos here. this is a great new study took for me.
this was really good, now finally i can remember mitosis easily, jus watched thru da vid a few times, with the drawings in front of me, and now i kno it all :D thanxx
i watched this class couple days ago...it is easier to understand Mitosis and Meiosis by watching and listening.
absolutely!!
I have a test about it on monday and really happy to find this video on youtube.
hahaha. Love the music!
THE BEST action vid , I agree the names of the phazes are important.
i'm sitting in science class reviewing for my test using this video! welcome to the new age. and yeah, music is kinda creepy not gonna lie.
@tetaybebe the one in which the nucleus looks denser (or darker in some microscopes) is the interphase
whats the name of the brown thing that pulls the chromatids apart?
Hey...but what happens with the mother cell centriols after the division ? Each centriol goes to one of the daughter cells?
This video has taught me more than my silly teacher has :) THANKS
really nice animation!
thanks! my classmates and i were debating about the phrasing used in our notes, and this helped resolve it(:
You're totally correct. I'm studying Cell Biology and I read 15 pages on Mitosis, however this explanaton was much better.
mitosis is the frickin' sweetest process ever!
very explanitory. thank you !
amazing...
This was really helpful! I just wish that you took more time and pointed out the stages.
are the x things that form from DNA chromsoomes or sister chromatids? are chromosomes = sister chromatids?? when the x splits into two v's are those chromosomes?
thanks for uploading:)
this helped me a lot ! thank you ^^
woaaaa. This is like....cell porn.
then what's the diff btwn meiosis n mitosis??
amazing stuff
Thanks you so much.💕💕
very simple, good video
Wow. Watching that video explained 60 minutes of my teacher jumping around the whiteboard like a prepubescent ape and writing diagrams and arrows. Good job. That really helped.
where do the organelles lyk golgi body, mitochondrion, etc go???
indahnya ciptaan Tuhan :)
Very nice video. It helped me understand the process of mitosis better. :)

but what happens to the organelles during mitosis?
I have to know this by tomorrow :p
It's well animated!
wow awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really interesting
lol!!!
it's really different with this creepy music!!!
dude i got a test on this tomorrow i hope this helps me out a little bit.
The background music is so creepy, but it makes this process that much more fascinating. This is going on in your body right now!!
i love you :* thank god i had the idea to search for this on youtube xD
hey writing a grade 10 bio exam... thanks for posting this it really helped
What is this purple circle at 0:00?
Is there anyway to burn this on to a dvd?
I needed this understanding for biology
This video is excellent. I run the mrfordsclass website, and I will be sure to use it for my students. Again, excellent!

best mitosis video on you tube
this would be awesome if it told you each stage within process of mitosis

voice of narrator is so calm ..... and d bakrnd music is 2 gud n calm
what is centrioles? what's the different between centrioles and spindle?
my exam's tomorrow and i seriously needed that. thanks a lot!

great!!!!
GREAT FOR VISUAL LEARNERS..
that means that mitosis is if two cells seperate(cell division) ?
when does the duplication of the chromosomes happen? your video does not mention that..
helps on science tests, awesome.
This was extremely helpful, thankyou very much :)
What happens to the organelles?
thanks. That°s gonna be useful in my next test of biology.....
wow so short, so great!
God at work.
Thanks this is really good!
My class is learning about mitosis for science, and i have a quiz on mitosis on friday!
This helped alot, thanks!
all right shum!!!!!!! nice job
great video
nice video , it helps me a lot
the music is too eerie
This is like a time machine
