    Hi Kyle, Hi James, I too would like let you know your time with Andrew Huberman was very interesting and greatly appreciated and well divvied out in terms of female and male issues.
    I'm 65 and have been taking various forms and doses of BHRT progesterone for over 25 yrs, I've had to stop the biest and test, just cant handle it esp estro.
    I appreciate you vast functional knowledge about how hormones and amino acids and neurotransmitters work together or not, on so many shared pathways.
    Recently I have increased my taurine to 9-12 g/day to help with crohns, colitis and celiac and severe and extreme oxalate dumping (almost 3 yrs). I also take 1 capsule of TUDCA/day for liver dysregulation. The taurine is esp making a difference so I dont want to decrease or stop it. Like progesterone, it is a swiss army knife. This brings me to progesterone (currently on 320gm/night), sublingual, quick dissolve. More recently my sleep was suffering, followed by 4 days on no sleep, not even for 5 min. It felt like the GABA pathway was getting jammed up or overladed with either too much taurine or too much progesterone or both, resulting in what felt like this amino acid and hormone took the Glutamate pathway instead, leaving me feeling very unlike myself and excitedly toxic. I followed by taking a sauna every day for 7 days and I'm feeling and sleeping better, but I'm nervous to resume taking the progesterone. I have gone on pubmed, and reached out to various functional drs and also 3 different compounding pharmacists (the chemical engineers of medicine). One CP suggested progesterone resistance (I dont think I have PCOS which is closely assoc) and I need to stop it for a while then pulse it; the next CP, who filled the prescription, suggested to stop taking the taurine but he had no scientific reason; and the other suggested thyroid storm (which I am familiar with and did not feel like that is what it was).
    I would very much like to continue taking both the progesterone and taurine, but need to know how to proceed and if they are safe to take together. The prescribing dr does not know either, and she would prefer me to take the progesterone over the taurine, but that could have something to do with her being a prescribing dr.
    Thank you in advance for any thoughts or suggestions.
    I'll keep an eye out for you as look forward to learning more from you

    Hey guys, great Job on the info. I'm sure your podcast will do great, tons of us are coming over from the interviews you did with huberman... Just one piece of feedback, for those of us who don't understand the doctor linggo very well, it would really help to put your conclusions in simpler language. Anyway, keep it up!

    Just came over and subscribed after hearing Dr. Gillett on Huberman Lab podcast ! Great information!!! I was wondering, what is the best way to find out the source of my TongKat Ali? I’ve been taking that and Boron since hearing about them on a previous Huberman podcast….and my testosterone DID in fact increase.

    I hoped this would better address the role of these supplements on Estrogen, specifically reducing estrogen levels to improve endometriosis and heavy periods. But, alas everything revolves around testosterone. Can you please suggest a podcast or resource on the topic of balancing female hormones?

But interesting as it was, The consultants I comversed with had much more information although I know he had other stuff to discuss with you on that episode. Thanks for the i fo though and noce to know this is getting some recognition in the western world as itʻs not well known in the United states as it is elswhere unless your expised to it like the holistic and acupuncture world. 👍

    Hey guys, really enjoyed this content. I've gone through a lot of UA-cam content regarding these compounds. This content was easily digestible and I would put it up there with more plates or hubermann. My question is, would you take these compounds?

    • @gilletthealth
      @gilletthealth  2 роки тому +2

      We are not currently on these compounds. However, Dr. Gillett plans to take 1-2 capsule of sigma (with 150-300mg fadogia) some time this summer, for one month.

    Adding my anecdotal heads up on Fadogia Agrestis. I tried the Barlowe's brand mentioned by Andrew Huberman on one of his Podcasts. After about a week of 600mg daily, I noticed that I had a constant urge to pee. Even after emptying my bladder, I still felt like I needed to pee. I stopped taking it after about 2 weeks and the feeling reduced to more tolerable levels, but it took months for things to return to normal. I did go to my PCP a week or two after stopping it, they tested me for a bladder infection and took blood. Nothing showed up as out of the ordinary. If things didn't improve they said I should make an appointment with a urologist. I didn't end up going to the urologist, mostly because I didn't want to get a finger up my butt. I suspect that the Fadogia Agrestis affected the size of my prostate, but not really sure.

    • @gilletthealth
      @gilletthealth  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the anecdote! Your assessment seems correct, theoretically it can certainly affect the size of your prostate. As mentioned in the video, for most, we don't recommend more than 150mg or 300mg, if the patient is a candidate. Cycling it would likely help give the prostate/bladder a rest as well. We made sure that 1 capsule of Sigma "only" has 150mg in it.
