I have been waiting since you told me you will be releasing the brand new video feature but, all the rest of characteristics are insane. I scored successfully more than 70% of my latest movie just using StaffPad without the video feature. Now you have added this feature, I can only imagine how I will be able to work in my next projects. Really, thank you so much for creating Staffpad!!
I am not a professional. I’m not really even an amateur. I can’t play an instrument, and have little music knowledge except for (initially) a vaguely remembered notion of what the staffs and bars mean and note durations, all stemming from a couple of years of piano as a kid, and that was more decades ago than I like to contemplate. I have to think about what what line or space to put notes in, and often count up from middle C to know what note it is on the staff. I’ve watched a bunch of videos on it but chords for me are hit and miss and more iterative than planned out. But I’ve written a few pieces of music with StaffPad that I really like and I peck away at more when the mood takes me. I’m sure you guys would laugh to hear them but I’m proud of them. This product is truly amazing and I thank you for making it. I have truly enjoyed making music with it, regardless of how poor an effort they are. If I had one request/like to have, it would be the ability to reverse the chord display. Have it also allow you to pick the chord (C, D, Cm, etc) and it translates it to the basic notes on the staff. That would really help a poor old musical moron work a little faster!
I’m starting to use StaffPad more and more, and not only Logic and Sibelius. The enormous advantage of being able to hear what you compose, and the sounds MAY EVEN be used proffesionally if you use it with care and if you write smart and idiomatic. And the sounds! I especially like Spitfire solo strings and the scoring synths, but many more are gorgeous. It´s the perfect app if you’re a musician who started very young to compose and always dreamed of a future where your handiwork and tech would merge together (I’m born in 1975) - I can’t thank these guys enough for inventing this - it gives us «happy semi-pro musicians» a chance at least - sorry for the long article but I’m sooo blown away how good this is. (It is required a certain amount of handwriting, experience in arranging and composer-intelligence beforehand though)
Wonderful. I would be so grateful if, for the next update, you could add midi step input like in Cubase. It could make note entry so much easier with a MIDI keyboard!

I just bought my Staffpad to use on my iPad. I did all tutorials using the pen I bought specially to work on the iPad and Staffpad (not an Apple Pencil) … basically the pen works inside Staffpad normally, it erases notes, but when it comes to writes down the notes it doesn’t work (but it writi down notes during the tutorial). It was SHOCKING to know only apple pencils work to write down the notes and it doesn’t make any sense at all. I literally just put £ 89.00 into the bin.

Staffpad is truly an amazing app, that is revolutionizing composing - with the new update, even more. That's why I'm really surprised that I found a problem with the new update: the stock piano sample. I'm currently working on a four-movement piano concerto, so maybe that gives a view on why I'm stressed with this situation. The "new" stock sample is lightyears behind the old one. I really don't want to be impolite, but I've got no idea what was the concept behind making it. This new version lacks everything the old one had; the realism, the dynamics, the overall quality. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who will realize this surprising relapse. I don't even have to attach a file - the difference between for example the "Clair the lune" demo score on your UA-cam (with the old sample) and the current version is just obvious. The new Muse Sounds Keys is also far behind. Please, bring back the old sample as fast as possible! It is far more superior, far more realistic. I'm in the finishing process of my concerto and this is just preventing me from doing my work! Please help me! Sincerely, Botond Kovács
Great to see the new features. This will be wonderful for my son studying film composition in Brisbane. He has his filmharmonic concert soon and working with Lachlan Pendragon who was nominated for an Oscar for his short film. An Ostrich Told Me the World is Fake and I Think I Believe It. StaffPad support helped fix the corrupt score for my son.

I have a lot of problem with Staffpad. First, when joining two eighth notes, the program does not allow it, it transforms them into quarter notes. Second, the pen stopped writing exactly, the program doesn't recognize the pressure to execute the erase function and it becomes very difficult to do it, I have to press the screen of my iPad a lot. In both cases, I already checked and my pen works perfectly in other applications. Third, Staffpad crashes often and sometimes doesn't show the score library. I'm using a genuine Apple Pencil. The tip is correctly screwed on. I also tested it with the new replacement tip that came with my apple pencil. I also tried another apple pencil or the same problems occur. It is very difficult for me to write and work on it. It doesn't recognize many figures, silences, most of the time I can't erase it with my applepencil, I have to press a lot on the screen of my Ipad, with the risk of breaking it and with a lot of effort for my hand. Those are just some of the problems that persist and are not fixed. Staffpad is making my job very difficult, every day that passes is more difficult to write on it. It does not recognize shapes, the pencil eraser function does not work, I write a symbol and another appears, it does not show me the previews of the scores, among other problems. I can send you some videos proving all these problems if necessary. I am really disappointed in staffpad. Is there a solution to all this malfunction of the app? In the app store and on the web there are many people with similar problems.
Hello staffpaf team, thank you vert much for this update. Unfortunately this is not working very with the audio transcription (with an acoustic Yamaha) the software does not recognize very well the notes AND the rythm ... Any idea why ? Maybe it will be correctes mater ... Continue to do tour great job !
Hello! Will Staffpad ever incorporate adding notes without drawing them in? And do the notes play back audibly when you add them onto the staff? I feel like the app caters to people who have perfect pitch - which is cool - but I unfortunately don’t have this ability. It would be great if this app could help out people who are not as advanced at writing music!
I was very enthusiastic about staff pad, but my enthusiasm has waned. It didn't occur to me that having a tremor would affect my ability to enter notes.😕
I’ve tried recording the piano like this and it dosnt notate all the notes ,picks up some and leaves others out and puts in rests .what am I doing wrong?
Tested with a real piano with iPad Pro M2. It doesn't work at all! The notes are written late and often with incorrect alterations compared to the key. If you buy it for the piano capture function I do not recommend it!!!
