I've recently started asking skate shops for broken boards because of your work and when I have enough to make something, I hope you'll critique it. Thanks for the inspiration and dope videos. Much love from STL.
The first person I saw using a handful of shavings to burnish the piece was Norm Abrams on 'The New Yankee Workshop' - and I still do it to. Great project and perfect use for previously useless skateboard pieces!
"Rough balling it" haha, love it. Nice little lathe project, but a LOT of prep work! The carbide tools are also great for situations just like that where the grain direction is constantly changing (plywood...).
That would be impossible with a lathe. Be more of a carved project. And he doesn't do carvings. A recycled skateboard wood chest set would be absolutely dope though, I like where your head's at 🤘🤘
Thanks for your explanation of why you use epoxy. I am not a skater but my son is and I have invested a lot in skateboards over the years... Nice to have some ideas about how to give new life to the stack of "raw material" that I have. :) Great videos. Thanks
When you first cut them down to their 3" blocks (or whatever it was), I was thinking you were going to make salt and pepper shakers. Per usual, awesome work, Ben!
You may have one but I didn't spot it... do you have a positive pressure air fed mask for the paint and stickers sanding? Got to look after yourself to keep making things for a long time!
Would love to see a full chess set from you dude, if not, just the chess board for starters. One square blank wood, one square colour. Surround the whole thing in brass trim, or have the whole grid made from brass trim.
they remind me of roof tile shapes. like the those asian japanese house ones. maybe you can use them for those for like a small dog house or tree house roof.
Whooooooo. I think anybody can use a plan to make something real talent is seeing the in nothing and bringing it to life...and that's why I started following your work.
Damn I never even thought about turning a hanger like this. I remember the first one, it was hilarious. I think I may have to bust one out so I can hang my apron and face shield on. Right now I just use a pegboard peg and it's a bit dumb haha.
you could of just clamped some wood to the drill press to drill on center without having to mark everyone, and the bed of a drill press can move ( so you dont have to use a spacer)
So you tease us with the dog in the background, but no formal introduction? What the heck dude? Is your dog named Woby? Is that where the name of your channel comes from? So basically royalty comes into your shop and you won't even show us a close up... sad... (how's that for engagement?)
I gotta say I really appreciate your dedication to using almost every part of your materials. Luckily I guess, the off cuts stack well for storage.
“E” poxy count?
I really appreciate you providing, “straight” video of you running the lathe.
Yep, still my favorite artist in this medium. These are fun and functional! Thanks for sharing!
Those was really pretty pieces, i like the different angles of the colours
Awesome vid! And that band saw sled with measurements marked is so cool! What a great idea
Love seeing you use tools we don’t see you touch much.

how about making the entire chess set for your next project? It'll be challenging, but 100% cool

@ 8:10, you mentioned a previous project. Just wondering what that was, and what made it inappropriate? 🤔
Probably a shlong
Woby. Did you do videos of your van build. ?

Really nice! Geez, now I want a lathe.

Love these coat hangers, beautiful and functional and not in a landfill. Also, if anyone can make chess pieces from skateboards it’s you! 😃👍

Hi. You can send those pieces my way. I make things with the hardware area and they look awesome.
I'm commenting to boost engagement!
I love when the layers are not aligned with the figurine - it looks a bit tripping while turned, and reminds me of Wonderland
Never tell the Master what to do always watch what the Master is doing.
Very Cool!!!
Those are great!!!

Just watching you turn these I was thinking that they would make some supper Dupper Door Knobs ?
Cool!
With a slightly different shape, that could be a cool gear knob for a car.
Last half of the video should have "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" as a backing song.
Brit pop aside, nice work as always.
the way you say epoxy cut my concentration majorly lol

Anything you want. Really!
That 4 minute epoxy sounds great, but only until someone comes out with a 3 minute epoxy.
Dope

Awesome as always but I still miss the way you used to finish your videos with the "Wooooooohoooooooo"
I'd love to see a whole chess board. I'd buy that

It’s epoxy, not E-poxy. Very frustrating when you repeatedly insist on using that phrase. Maybe consider an alternative such as resin.
It’s e poxy dumbass
E!poxy
Chess player here, excellent choice of shape. 😊♟️
