Seeing you match up those hexagons reminded me of creating 3d shapes out of cut pieces of paper. This would be a wicked design for a large-scale 3d dodecahedron.

any other time id agree plywood sides are a big no no ... but in this case i think the ply sides suited the top and a little bright colored stain would have made it pop
might be a challenge for you but i would love for you to try it a globe and if you are up to it you could do the land out of epoxy or the see out of epoxy keep up the good work woby
