How is convince store food where you live, delicious or risky?
Curious about our 2013 edition of Dinner at 7-Eleven? Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/YXSjGHzUZxE/v-deo.html
Garbage, I wouldn't buy food in any of Akron's convenient stores with maybe one exception being sheetz. Sheetz is pretty good.
@@yippeeyokai5750 Sheetz can throw around some sandwiches.
the stores are pretty convincing yes
I've always eaten pretty much everything without really caring much, so I never thought convenience store food was that terrible even in the Midwest. Ireland's is really expensive for the most part since most stuff is made fresh, and the packaged stuff is generally really nice. Sweden was kinda between the two? They had some decent packaged sandwiches if you needed something quick but the little cafes everywhere are a lot better for actual meals.
I won't try to convince you.
This was a nostalgic video for sure! That original 2013 video was so exciting to watch back then, when yall were still relatively new to Japan! Oh how time flies!
God, 2013. I still can't believe how long ago that was, lol.
It was seven years and eleven months ago.
Syke.
Yes, back to basic for Kyde and Eric video, my favorite kind!
that 2013 video is one of my favorite!
during my own visit to Japan, I think I've spent more money eating at 711 than even restaurants!
The cheap onigiri are awesome for breakfast!
By all means, please continue the series. I enjoyed the analysis of classy wine cups!
15:52 It looks like Kyde's drinking a jar of Smuckers grape jelly.
カスクート is very likely japanese for "casse-croute" which is a synonym for sandwich in french
When I traveled to Japan 7/11 was the go-to for a quick meal. I am craving an onigiri now.
"You going to do the airplane sound or what?"
A sneak peek into the behind closed doors Kyde and Eric
If I ever get married, I legit hope I have the same amount of playfulness and the type of relationship that they do after being together as long as they have xD ^_^
I never give my food back it's moisture.
Even pot Noodle?! Ugh!
every 7 years you should do this same video. I wanna see u guys eating 7/11 food when ur 50 lol it'll never get old to me
Oh man, Eric looks so young in the flashback. Really takes me back to when I first started following you guys. Good memories.
I can't get over 7/11 over there. It's like an alternate universe!
And they are *still* not sponsored by 7-11.
Yessss, a random combinin food series would be great.
love watching 7 11 videos oh and you both of course such a giggle :D
You guys crack me up, very enjoyable episode.pinky up🤙🏻
I was there from March to June this year, and I ate so much 7-11. Their mapo tofu is glorious! I also love the squid(it's in a triangular looking plastic bag). Loved Strong Zero as well.
I like the improved camera work including the switching between angles.
Juice boxes with wine in them would have made High-school a hell of a lot more fun. 🍷😁
US 7-11s are from a different planet than Japan's are. You guys are informative AND fun to watch.
When I saw Eric's wine my first thought was that I wished my mother had put that juice box in my lunch. It would have made school more interesting.
My local 7eleven is small and not very exciting with the usual rotating food, buy there are some really nice clean ones with prepared food.
That pineapple soda is just staring at me O.O
Oh my gosh recently I went back on your old videos and was watching your old 7-11 video!!! Ahh so weird you made another one recently !!! I can’t believe 2013 😳😳😳
Your 2013 video helped me out on our first trip to Japan so I knew I could get good food at 7/11
I think it's what we'd call "cured ham", not raw ham. So like prosciutto type ham as opposed to like ham roast.
Eric is still anxiously waiting the return of the Mcdonald's adult creampie, i see it in his eyes
Throwback Thursday!
Yes more 7-eleven stuffs! Love to see what new items pop up in there...even though it looks like I won't be tasting any myself anytime soon. Don't forget familymart.
This should be a monthly thing.
Its because of that original video that I gave the Mapo Tofu a try when I cam here 2 yrs ago. NO regrets, it was delicious.
You should do same thing with Lawson! Lawson saved your life when you lost wallet at Hokkaido!
When I saw the price of Eric's I was shocked! That much food in America would easily cost 10$-15$ where I live if not more, it's astronomical how much food costs here. I think if I were to try to partially recreate that dish from home, the ingredients would at least cost me at minimum 6-7$. Wow!
Yea, you can eat decent in Japan fairly cheap.
Clicked, liked, watched...in that order. Hopefully coming to Japan next year, and because of you guys and a few other Japan based channels 7-11 is fast becoming one of the first places I want to visit :P
Hey guys Camenbert cheese is a smelly stinky cheese and I would imagine being wrapped in saran wrap would get even stinkier! LOL
But it is a very delicious cheese if you’re into stinky cheese. Love watching you guys.
It depends how old and ripe it is. A young one isnt stinky. Brie is very similar but much more stinky and cabbagey
Yes my favorite type of video! 7-11 content!
please do that series. I'd watch :)
I really love the 7-11 mukbangs. I’m going back to watch the old ones. Maybe you should do other konbini.
Hahaha they have “adult juice boxes” there ... I would prank my kid haha
"Wetness factor that's happening down below"...... hmm.........:D
That’s what I was thinking 😳
Okonomiyaki, Pork Medallions Alfredo, and cheeseburgers were about the best things I gotten at Japanese 7-11. However the classic Onigiri or two is the choice for me.
"I'm eating it like a barbarian!"
Impressive that the Japanese are using the term Casse-croute. It does mean a light meal or fast food at least in French speaking parts of Canada. The sort of meal you'd look for when on the road going somewhere.
I've missed you guys!
Your first video I watched was your first 7-11 video (back when I was lbonini1gaming) now I'm back watching the sequel. Either this is meta or we've gone full circle.. love it.
"raw ham" 生ハム is called prosciutto in Europe. Dried/aged and salted ham cut in thin slices
Not all of Europe, Spain for instance calls some air dried cured ham "Jamón Serrano "
Subbed, this is great and wholesome!
Thanks! Glad you found us! -E
Eric & Kyde I think the roll is like a typical sandwitch popular here in France. The ham here on the west coast is dry cured Vendee ham to the north and Bayonne to the south of us.
omgggg this was the first video i watched of you guys from so long ago
I think the cashiers always loved watching me do my drunken sway over the sandwich case. :)
後半はただの仲良し夫婦の呑み会映像w
“Hey Vsauce, Eric here”
First video i watched from your channel was that OG 7-11 video back in 2015. I had just come back from japan and was having withdrawals. Decided to youtube some japan videos and that video came up.
They know the market better than I do, I'm sure, but I wish they would give options like this a chance here in the U.S.A.
I haven't had ham and Camembert sandwich in a long time. Never had it with pesto though.
It is still amazing to me how much better the 7-11 in Japan (and Korea/Taiwan) was compared to the US. Here in the Netherlands the quality of food in convenience stores has gotten a lot better in the last 10 years or so. Our biggest supermarket chain (Albert Heijn) has started opening more and more of their convenience store type called AH to go which has a really decent selection.
love this! natsukashi!
I like the random food idea.
U two peeps are so intellectual and sardonic.... love watching u ... Bon appetite
Raw ham? If I were back in my mother's home town deep in south west France (St Jean de Luz) I would assume the sandwich would be made with "jambon de Bayonne" (Bayonne ham - this is a simple haunch of ham air dried for about 18 months then simply sliced straight off the haunch - delicious) with either a local cheese (probably a brébis - a hard pyrennean sheep's milk cheese) or camembert, brie or emmenthal.
Do more of these!
Great video. Love the combini topic. Honestly never gets old. What do you think about Natural Lawson?
I think Natural Lawson feels more like a marketing gimmick than an actually improvement over a regular Lawson, hahahaha. -E
I've had dinner from an American 7-11.
The pizza is cheap and the hot wings are seriously the best wings I can find anywhere.
I think you missed the main reason why you stopped eating 7 eleven food: An instinctual gut feeling not to eat their food: except pancakes with maple syrup and butter.
I’m hungry now! Want Currie!
Yes more convenience store videos please
Ooh yay another one. Been years?!
I haven't seen a 7/11 in the UK for several years now. They may exist but not in the south at least. At one time it seemed they were everywhere.
Same. I don't think I've ever seen one here actually
Huge fan
Racheal and I hit 7-11 many times during our trip to Japan last year, and we've missed it ever since.
I challenge you guys to find something worse than the spaghetti flavoured popsicle. Durian and Eric's aversion against fish don't count.
I have missed the "what we found at 7-eleven" videos... Fun & unusual...
Wine from a box (Goon in Australia) is most likely to have more of a kick because of it's audience's expectations...
The cup wine looks like One-Cup Sake... 🤔
Do love cheap food in the states. Never had 7 11.
it's good cause you don't need to heat up at home. they do it for you.
Yaaaas video series!!!
7-11 and my drunken years. Fond memories :)
American 7-11 actually have a pretty good selection.
Cured Ham I am sure, Looks great, Thank you for the videos , be well !
To Eric & Kyde,
I used to live in Canada for 4 yrs, the food and the culture in 7-11 definitely not the same compare w/ Japan.
Japanese curry is different, sweet taste.
I think the big misconception for most americans and I assume canadians as well is that convenience stores tend to be gas stations here, the food they sell is all junk food but more specifically its mostly snack food. They might sell a sandwich, hotdogs, nachos or pizza by the slice (which is just frozen pizza).
So I don't think it's right to compare western convenience/gas stations and east asian convenience stores, a conbini is closer to a grocery store with a food court. I'd like to see you guys go check out some more convenience stores in more rural areas, I suspect that these places are a result of most people not having a car.
They are basically the same in the countryside. -E
711 in America has up their game the last couple years.
What are the prices? Especially that creamy rice.
The 2 camera action is good. Great video as always. Do either of you make music? Noticed the guitar behind you. Did Eric play in a band?
Yea, I played music with friends for many years. -E
My favorite kind of videos yaaaaayy :D
Thank you :)
Hey! Well, let me put it this way. Convenience store food does exist where I live, but it is freshly made and usually rather expensive. I mean, if you are in a hurry or money does not matter to you, the food prepared instore is actually pretty good. On the other hand, the prepacket, boxed food tastes like really horrible. some of it is almost inedible. For example, I love beans. Baked, cooked, in a salad and all other..but the ready made - shelfsafe style meal made with white beans tastes like licking a 9 volt battery and smelling the sewer...for real... To be honest, we actually prefer home made food or occasionally going to a restaurant (maybe a takeout). Meals from stores are generally not considered high quality here (in Serbia). Loved the vid. Cheers!
This has made me a lot more curious to go to Serbia! Sounds fairly similar to Ireland in terms of convenience stores, but the prepackaged stuff is normally pretty okay. I bet Serbian food is awesome, I've been eating Irish food so long it's gotten kinda boring xD
@@travelswithblindcane Serbian cuisine is based on fresh food. You would love it for sure. You won't regret coming and trying the local stuff. The food differs from region to region. I live on the north of the country. We have all sorts of food. Hungarian style and Serbian style with a little influence of Turkish cuisine. If I may suggest, every one coming to Serbia should definitely try the southern style food. It's really awesome. Grilled meat made to perfection, fresh vegetables and tasty side dishes, pastry with cheese and lots more. On top of that, the hospitality and the kindness of the people usually makes the experience even better. You can't go wrong. Please, do come if you can.
Question for you guys does Japan have low carb/ keto options now at restaurants. I know some restaurants here in the states have some healthier options now.
Question about the doria - the English on the label mentioned "gratin", are there breadcrumbs in the dish or maybe are they just using that word in place of casserole?
Haha, I honestly don't know. -E
I've never tried the ghetto wine before... I might just have to now, though!!! lmao
I get what you guys (K&E) are saying about certain kinds of alcohol that give you more sickness than benefit. I usually get that from korean soju (okay, maybe not all of them). I love the taste, but hate the effect, especially in the morning after. On the other hand, I love chu-hi/ sours, from 4% Kirin Ichigo Pocky (lucky I got to try those just in time), to 9% Suntory Strong Zero. Gosh I loooove those stuff, drank a lot of them when I was in Japan, and none of them gave me any negative effects, fortunately.
I love this kind of video once in a while. My personal favourite, however, is still the train/metro line exploration: your Yamanote and Ginza line tour. Looking forward to your next one, guys.
For me it goes Family mart then 7/11 and finally Lawson.
Co ol love to see foreign people have fun in 7/11 Japan did you tell your fans of the 7/11 bank card as well? 頑張って👍

Is there a "What we eat in a week?" video? It's funny, but I just assumed all this time you still grabbed take-out from the local convenience store!
I made one many many years ago, but it's not really accurate anymore. ua-cam.com/video/MHHL1fndERg/v-deo.html
Looks good 'n delicious ! Family Mart or Lawson have the same dinner ?
Similar, but not exactly the same. -E
I guess that asking for the grape variety that wine was made from would be a stretch... :o)
Hahaha, i'd be surprised if any actual grapes got involved at all. -E
in my last visit (Feb 2020) it seems there are now more FamilyMart in Japan than 7-Eleven.....but I still prefer 7-Eleven though
Lawson for the win 😁
Is that a microbrute in the background?! Fuckin' A!
Since I know you're a bread connoisseur, I have to ask how the bread in that sandwich compares to other breads. I know 7-11 in the states has never had good bread with their sandwiches (the chilling really hurts it) so I'm curious about J7-11 since it is also chilled, but looks much softer on video.
Yea, it was real soft. It was aight, but its not wining any competitions. -E
Perhaps that camembert was just a bit riper than usual, although I don't think so: ripe camembert is very runny.
