Thank you for stopping by the cenotaph and remembering Hugh O'Connor. He's often overshadowed by his famous father,Caroll O'Connor also known as "Archie Bunker from "All In The Family".I remember Hugh for his role in the cop show,"In The Heat Of The Night".Hugh sadly committed suicide on March 29,1995 via a gunshot wound to the head.May God continue to grant him eternal rest and peace.Rest In Peace Hugh O'Connor,Gone but certainly not forgotten.

In 2009, while researching a final resting place for a friend, I was shown the underground mausoleum, I understand that it had not long been finished. It is very beautiful, beautifully lit and similar to the crypts where Marilyn and Hugh Hefner rest.
Arthur, You are the most well spoken, respectful, insightful and gracious youtuber I've heard yet. I also would like for you to know that you are appreciated, admired and well respected and I, along with countless others, look so forward to your video's and watch them religiously!! Please keep doing what you do and don't change a thing, your awesome just the way you are....yourself AND your crew!! Take care and Thank You for sharing your hard work with us!!!! You keep putting out the content, we'll keep watching and spreading the word about your channel (=
Wow - Ray Evans' wife was 15 years older than him, and she lived to be 102/103!! Little details like this keep me coming back to rewatch videos. Thank you for your respectful and detailed work, Mr. Dark.
I love the fact that you can go back and revisit these famous cemeteries. There is always more to see! :)
Never a dull moment on Hollywood Graveyard. 👍👍 Great job
Just thought you should know your channel is the only reason i watch youtube. Love your work tasteful respectful and very beautifully done! Keep it up! 🖒
.. and very informative.
I live down the street, and I have been here many times and I’ve never noticed the elevator. So cool.
On this day of the Academy Awards, I applaud Arthur Dark for a wonderfully apropos video. I appreciate Arthur Dark's talent for keeping these revisiting videos fresh and richly informative as if we are viewing these cemeteries for the first time.
It's crazy that Richard Conte was missed on the first tour, I'm a huge fan of his work. Also, could you PLEASE visit Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City, CA? Frank Sinatra, William Powell, two of the Gabors, Betty Hutton, and many more are buried there. It's near my hometown that I'm visiting again in late April, and I want to make sure I don't miss visiting anyone else awesome. Thanks for all of your incredible work!
I was sooo shocked that Frank Sinatra's resting place was as simple as it was, I expected a hugh mausoleum
What a trip! Thank you so much for bringing back memories of our beloved stars! This was really great!
What can I say ? Bravo ! Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant as always
as usual not a disappointment great video Mr. Dark
I fully expected to see Hugh Hefner with a huge memorial and surrounded by his legacy.
He is. Marilyn Monroe.
lol cq
He is next to Marilyn Monroe... How iconic is that!!!!
I was surprised @ John Ford's site as well
I could watch your tours and listen to your commentary All day
Mr. Dark.
“Silver Bells” is one of my favorite Christmas songs! I had no idea it was from a film! Thanks so much Arthur!
I agree
Not even from Europe, i don't even watch movies talkless of knowing single actor/star. But I'm becoming so addicted to Hollywood graveyard. Your remarkable explanation makes me feels like i already know them all.
Job well done.
Thank you for this awesome post! I am a bit of a Ray Conniff fan ever since stumbling upon his music on UA-cam. He must have known the effect his music has as, aside from the kitsch value, it has the ability to calm me down during particularly stressful days at work. To see his final resting place alongside other luminaries is heartening. Can't wait for your next installment!
You have an amazing voice. Your narration, writing, and production is simply perfect! Thank you!
Sunday afternoon just got better
I really enjoy these videos a lot of those deseast entertainers I grew up admiring I can't believe so many of them are gone makes me sad at how time slips away he does very good job with the videos they are very addictive! Who would ever think touring graveyards would be so entertaining ❤
the 2nd trip MUST be more challenging to find interesting stories that weren't covered in the first go round.
well done!
I love these tours. I look forward to seeing more in the future. Hugh Hefner's crypt is looking like Marilyn's crypt already and he's been gone like 6 or 7 months now.
My favorite cemetery! So many stars 😍😍😍😍😍😍

Since this Tour covered so many wonderful composers I'd like to compliment you on your music selection. The music really sets the tone for what the tour is about. It's not heavy or macabre, but expresses the mood that we are exploring the lives and accomplishments of these departed performers in a positive way.
Great tour once again!! I hummed the entire Night Court theme
That was amazing man. I love your style
I enjoyed all the tours..
Every time I get your notification of a new release, I think "OH BOYYYY!!!" So proud of the fine job your team does with these films! Respectful, artistic and the music is always appealing. I look forward to your next creation. THANKS, and keep up the grreat job!!
This is amazing! Do an Oscars special! 📽
I've been there a handful of times and it always seems like it just gets more and more interesting each time.
Love this understated treasury of history. Thank you for excellent commentary. Love love love the history. Have only had privilage to visit once. I grew up watching all the old 30, 40, 50s movies with my mom. She had all the stories too. Keep up the good work.
Great work. I love these videos/tours. Very interesting and respectful. I hope I get to visit these graves in real life someday. I will watch your videos to find all the graves
Another well done video. Thank you!!
Good job as usual. I have all of Ray conniff Christmas music.
You should sell it to Satan ... I hear he's installing a sound system in Hades ... would be just the thing!

Hi Arthur! Amazing as always. You really do light up our lives with the stories of those who graced our lives as children. I feel young again when I see those clips and see their faces once more. Thank you!
Thank you for another fascinating video! Your videos are so professionally done you must have been a cinematography major in university. Very nice work.
These are incredible videos with so much research, filming and editing going into them! I also appreciate the respectful nature of the commentary. There certainly are salacious details about some of these dead entertainers, but he really speaks what he knows to be fact in a non-inflammatory way. It is a delicate balance, I'm sure.
i think enjoyed Allen Melvin the most in all those Hanna-Barber cartoons i grew with in the 60's
Matthew Hernandez me too but always a fav for me for Bilko and Andy Griffith Show . And I'm ssd ure Hugh picked the "Y" on the sign for obvious respectful reasons. ;) (Y)
Love Hugh and Carroll :/
As always excellent A+ quality work.
Thank-You Arthur for yet another INTERESTING TOUR!!!! I wanted to add to Allen Melvin's story. He was also on a few "Andy Griffith' episodes. I always thought he was a GOOD ACTOR!!!!
Love your work. Thank You for doing it
"It's a cook book" boy, that one caught me off guard! haha!
Yay! Seeing your post made my day! Love it. Great work.
I just love these videos. My uncle was Lawrence Tierney who had past a few years ago. I want you to keep making Hollywood graveyards it's pretty special reminds me of when I was a kid watching both of those actors and actresses that have passed and I really miss them. Thanks for the Memories. And I will always keep watching.
Glad to see a tribute to Wayne Rogers, I always liked him. Smart man & very talented
The Garden of Talent that has Gone Ahead to that "Other Plane of Existence!"
Thank you, Arthur! Another great video of your great research!
Everytime get notified for these videos , it makes my day :)
Awesome video Arthur!!!!! I totally didn't know that Marilyn Monroe was in Playboy's first issue!!! No wonder the mag was a success from the start!!!
Out of all the cemetery tours I've seen, Westwood is my favorite!! I first heard of Westwood through Adam The Woo's daily vlog and I've been fascinated with it ever since! So many stars in such a small space!!! It's just amazing to see it tucked into the bustling city all around it.
Thank you for revisiting this beautiful little cemetery. Have a great day and see you next time!!! 😊👍👍👍
Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco is also here. He was an Italian composer and wrote a lot of music for classical guitar.
Hef also funded the preservation and restoration of Basil Rathbone's Sherlock Holmes films, as far as I'm aware ☺
Thank you so much. ❤️
Score!!!! Thanks a bunch!! I've never been more excited about a cemetery.
Dude, your videos are just well made. I give you mad respect!!!!
My Man Mr. Dark does it again!
I love these tours
Brilliant job Arthur!! I savour your videos every time~ Thank you for your research and respect for all those who've gone before!! 🌹
Clicked on this video so fast! Great videos I love them!❤️
I’ve been so excited for a new one ! I loved it ! I watch all of your amazing videos ! Can’t wait for your next ❤️🙌🏼
Your video are the best
this is why I love this channel.. it's explained and narrated in the right context.. good job..
I very much enjoy your cut-ins of old film clips. Poor Alice Brown, we need to know her story.....
I simply adore your style. Not scary. Not making fun of the dead. Just right: facts and respect. I know how hard you must work to get all the photos and clips. They really enhance your videos. Would you be allowed to publish a book of photographs of these grave sites? Many fans would want it. I so wish you could have a TV slot and make $$$ to be able to travel all over. Near my grandparents in Palo Alto (CA) is Tennessee Ernie Ford!! How did Marilyn and Hefner get a different color marble on their graves?? PS. Is Arthur Dark your real name? Best of luck always!!

The Playboy magazine was a 'tasteful' read. RIP Mr. Hefner. 🤗💕✌️
THANK YOU!!!
Finally! Looking forward to this!
Another great video! Keep 'em coming, Please.
I love the end where you pointed out famous relations of stars. You should do a series on that! :)

Unbelievably good video man ive must of watched about 8 of them very well put and you couldn't be anymore respectful to those who passed. One of my favorite singers are also buried in Westwood in an unmarked grave Roy orbison.
I also recognized Allan Melvin for his half a dozen or more bit parts on The Andy Griffith Show. Once he was the hotel detective in Raliegh that Barney mistook as a jewel thief. Another was the shopkeeper who threatened to rough up Barney for giving him a ticket for sweeping into the street.
Thank you for another awesome video. 💙❤
Our neighbor used to play the Ray Coniff...it would waft over the fence...lol
Can't wait for more revisits. This year is full of our generations greats.
You do very great work, and research. Thank you for posting!!!!
Thank you for another amazing video! Made my day with Doris Day and Ray Conniff
Can you do a grave tour of all the cast members of the Wizard of Oz. Not just the original 4. I wpuld like to know where Glinda, the wicked witch, aunt and uncle are buried.
Christina Owens Glinda is in Valhalla, NY. I’ve visited her.
Margaret Hamilton (the Wicked Witch) was cremated and her ashes scattered. She died in 1985. Charlie Grapewin (Uncle Henry) is at Forest Lawn Glendale in the great mausoleum. Clara Blandick (Aunt Em) was cremated and is just a few yards away from Uncle Henry. Billie Burke (Glinda) is in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
He just did!!
.. and Toto? Where's Toto??
Frances Grigsby Toto was buried in her backyard which was disturb during construction of some sort but they have a little memorial spot in la
Great video! I was researching Paul Gleason just see if he was somehow related to Jackie Gleason. I don't think he was but prior to acting he was a minor league baseball player and played on several clubs. Apparently he was quite the athlete.
they are not related
Thank you!!! Loved it!!! There’s so many people in a tiny area. I had no idea about the below ground mausoleum.
I love this series.
Thank You For Visiting Hugh Hefner I Will Revisit The Same Cemetery On Vacation
and he was lid next to Marilyn witch he wonted , thats nice
Yes Im A Huge Fan Of Her
Some may feel different, but I think it would have been good if they put the bunny logo under his name.
+Jan CW maybe one day 🐰
Yeah Right
The most interesting class I took in college was "Death & Dying," a Sociology class. While Death has been around since the beginning of life, dying is a relatively new phenomenon. The class did address the fact that funerals and cemeteries are for the living, not the dead. And yes the question was asked on the first day of class: "have your ever had a student die while attending your class?" Answer? "Not in class, bit yes, during the semester. I did, as I will you give an A posthumously if you die sometime e during this semester.
A class like that does make one think. What to do with my corpse? Nothing is permanent. My science Professor spoke of how in billions of years the Sun will expand and envelope Mercury and burn the Earth to a crispy critter and nothing will remain. In Egypt, the socked away all the I important people in the Valley of the Kings. Hoping mankind would leave them alone for eternity. What happened? Some yardbird stumbles upon the opening of grave sites and start digging up Pharoahs and put them "ON TOUR!!!!" The very last thing the folks in Egypt thousands of years ago wanted.
Which made me start thinking. What is going to happen to all these graves featured in Hollywood Graveyard? No, not in our lifetime. But say 10, 20, 30 generations from 2020? As sick as the world is today, who knows what they will come up with? But since we know what all these entertainers look and sounded like with pictures, records, and video, I can see a new genre category of entertainment for future fans.
Some of your already see where I'm going. They were entertainers, their families long gone (like the Egyptians) to protest, dig em up!!! Take them out of the Mausoleum and open em up to see how time has treated these people? Not just stars, but regular folks too. As long as we have pictures and a back story to tell of who they were when they were here.
Oh I know some of you will be appalled at the mere suggestion, but who knows what the social morals of this place will be in a couple a 300 to 900 years? If we haven't had some major catastrophe that wiped everything out and or all these cemeteries and Mausoleums torn down (because the land was too valuable and needed because of population growth) or bodies used as a fuel supply? George Carlin asked "why are we saving up all the dead bodies just for one spot in town? Let's start digging these people up!!! Recycling these people! Talk about Urban Renewal!!!!!"
I guess my real question is: WHAT REALLY WILL BE THE INEVITABLE FATE OF ALL THE HUGE CEMETERIES AND THEIR BEAUTIFUL MAUSOLEUMS SCATTERED ACROSS OUR COUNTRY?
Joe Riddle: I've also wondered the same things.
Perfect ending of the day. Thanks!
I love your channel! Your voice through headphones at night calms my son down. He's not hatched yet😊
Always such an enjoyable tour.
Livingston and Evans appeared as themselves at the piano singing "Buttons and Bows" in "Sunset Boulevard."
Great video 👍👍
marie mcclish i love your profile picture
Thanks a lot for sharing Iranian Great singer Heyedeh really appreciate....God bless you.
Omg so sad. I did a Disney movie with Wayne Rogers in 1985. He was such a sweet man to all the kids in the cast. RIP Mr.Mash💜
He was also Veteran and a Princeton Graduate.
His real name is William Wayne McMillan Rogers III.
I was his Pilot for 7 Years, he and Amy were the best people to work for, miss them both.
Loveeeeee this channel ❤️❤️
OMG in your part 1 video I made a fun fact comment about Hugh Hefner's crypt... I didn't know I was gonna later see it in a newer video. Awesome! Keep it up!
Yes!!! Another video!!! I am hooked on all your videos. Just this passed Saturday I visited Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn and with your help was able to pay my respects to the greats. Thank you so much for all you do! Making plans to visit Hollywood Forever!!
Annmarie Gonzales I could spend all day in the cemetery just walking around and seeing who is where.
just brill Arthur brilliant keep them coming please xx
Woohoo!! Sorry.. Jus love these vids!!😊😊😊
I can understand why Marilyn Monroe crypt being discolored due to people embracing it over the years but i didn't expect Hugh Hefner's to be just the same since it hasn't been that long since he had passed but i guess he was such an elite figure I can only imagine the multitude of people that come to pay respect
#EnnetteTaylor - Oh my, I was thinking the very same thing. And I agree with what you said here!! It makes a lot of sense too, Hugh had a LOT of followers and no surprise that so many have visited in such a short amount of time since his passing.
Play4u67 yes exactly my thought
I honestly thought that he'd had his marker colored like Marilyn's...
Guessing he had the marble tinted to match Marilyn's ...no way his would have the same patina as hers which has *over 50 years* of touches, tears and lipstick marks
In case of Ray Coniff, he made many instrumental pieces and his chorus is a trademark of his music style, specially playing latin themes. Greets from Peru...
Beautiful as always Arthur! I absolutely love Hollywood Graveyard!!!!!!!
