I am a newcomer to this series and I find the whole thing brilliant the information. You could not ask for more this is the close I will ever get to famous people I am hooked and the host is great x
Arthur Dark: [@ 14:57] That is a beautiful tribute to my late husband Frank Kelly Freas. Thank you so very much. I'm glad that he is so fondly remembered.
I have now watched a little over half of the installments of Hollywood Graveyard. As a taphophile, (A person who is interested in cemeteries, funerals and gravestones), I am finding them highly entertaining, enlightening and informative. I find it heartwarming that some of the biggest stars of their times have such unassuming graves - like John Wayne, Frank Sinatra and others. I am also impressed that Mr Dark has even found some of these graves as it seems a lot of the early stars are buried under their own names, not their stage names or in unmarked graves. The amount of research he has put into these short films is part of what makes them so interesting to me.
Ginger was one of the most talented people in Hollywood she matched Fred's dance moves step for step and she did it in heels I love watching their movies
Oh God, that had me all emotional! I'm such a big fan of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, I cried when you showed their graves! I'm from Germany but one of my biggest goals ever is to fly over to the States and visit their graves and lay down some flowers. I'm tearing up again just thinking about it. :') I'm so happy that they're buried close to each other and can find their rest together. They sure had a very special bond and I'm so grateful for all the amazing movies they left us. Thank you, Fred&Ginger, I love you, I know you have a wonderful time dancing in heaven! Thank you for this video, it was great and meant so much! :) ♡
You sir are doing a good for humanity by giving these people their dignity. Thank you for educating us on these special people and their time in history. Thank you Arthur✌️
I know, I was watchin one of these video's, my son asks...wth are you watchin dad (I have my headphones to listen, they only see the graves & think (OMG, how morbid.) I had to explain to him & my wife how unmorbid these videos actually are. Compared to some of vids on a channel called THEREAPERFILES...those vids are way more morbid, these are awesome vids.
I love all the Hollywood Graveyard tours you do, it makes me feel very nostalgic. My gran was born in 1920 (sadly passed away last year) She saw so many of the great names in their movies when they first came out, and I was lucky enough to be told about so many of these great stars, it was always a pleasure listening to her telling me about them when they showed the awesome movies from the 30's and 40's on tv.
Just Celt I just had to say how much my grandmother shared her movie experiences. She was born in 1901-1990. Brought up in the roaring twenties with all the flappers and silent movies. She lived in NYC and got to see so many Broadway shows. You gave me a wonderful memory of my Gram and all of her terrific stories!! Thank you~ 🌹
My Gran brought me up here in England so I think a lot of things she loved from that time rubbed off on me, one of my favourite things to do was to get out a book she had from the early 60's listing most of the Hollywood greats from the beginning of the 20th Century onwards, I'd open a random page and say a name, she was always able to tell me something about them.
Just Celt Wasn't that such a wonderful experience?? Then my Mum knew everything about the movies and stars in the 1940's and 50's. I love the channel TCM we have here in the states. Classic movies!! And all of the songs the two of them taught me~ Brilliant times during the beginning of modern movies!! 🌹 Joan
Interesting Fact:Oakwood Memorial Park was the original resting place of Hogan's Heroes star, Actor Robert E Crane(AKA Bob Crane). He was buried here after his funeral mass at St.Paul The Apostle Catholic Church in Westwood on July 5,1978.He was moved to Westwood Village Memorial Park in Los Angeles,California in 1999,by the request of his widow,Sigrid Valdis who died in 2007 and is buried alongside him.
Thank-you for showing where Ginger Roger's grave is located. Next time I'm in LA I will surely go and pay my respect and admiration to one of the all time great actresses ever!
Happy Easter & Happy Passover. I really enjoy these tours. It's nice to remember these folks and all the joy they brought to our lives through their entertainment. I love that Fred & Ginger are so close together. I never get tired of watching their films or watching them dance together!! Fred had other partners, and they were terrific dancers. But there was never the magic that was there when Fred and Ginger danced together. Thanks again!
14:56: Frank Kelly Freas - he was a fantastic person as well as a great SF artist. I was honored to have him as a friend. I only know his second wife, Laura Brodian Freas Beraha. She and Kelly made a wonderful pair.
We have gone to several of the ones he featured, and, believe it or not, that is overwhelmingly the norm. Very few are lavish- most you would EASILY miss- rarely you find those like Tyrone Power or Bob Hope, who has a whole section of the grounds just for him. Very first stone I found, on my first trip was Dan Duryea. I was looking for Freddie Prinze, which I never found...speaking of which, HEADS UP: take your phone and use these posts to direct you... Employees are NOT allowed to tell you where anyone is
Fred and Ginger are among very few who while connected in life, wind up interred in the same place, or close by, even if they are blood relatives. I think Astaire, Bette Davis and the Barrymores are among the rare interred with or close to associates / family members. Honestly, I’m more inclined to believe Astaire/ Rogers being in close proximity was unplanned
That seems to be a common thread in a lot of these Hollywood videos. Big, legendary names with very humble graves. Death really is the great equalizer.
That's so SAD about Gloria Graham passing young like that!!!! I mean, she was QUITE THE COMEDIC ACTRESS, I always felt!!!! Thank-You Arthur for taking the time to show us ALL of these 'Cemeteries,' and giving us some History to BOOT!!!!
Happy Easter!! Ginger & Fred (as she would have wanted it said) are the epitome of professionalism & class. They did so much together but supposedly they hated each other & didn't get along well. LOL I miss the days where if you had beef with someone, you kept it to yourself & did the job. Now studios put out rumors purposely to drum up publicity.
They had lots of tension behind the scenes with each other. She wanted to be a single serious actress and resented the song and Dance stuff she did with Fred. She came back for one more team up in the late 40's but that was for money nothing else. Her and Fred never really made up before his death.
Not 'hated' I think but strictly business relations e.g. never to each other's homes. Hey, media B.S. was in the past too, e.g. How to Marry a Millionaire - Betty Grable 'versus' Marilyn Monroe, battle of the blondes - except they won the war by being supportive friends.
Just a note to say how much I enjoy your channel videos and how pleased I am that you take such a respectful approach to the lives and careers of all these entertainers. Great work!
Wonderful !!! The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences should give you an award for the memorable work you have done. Very few people know about the individuals you give tribute to. Thanks ! I watched "Flying Down to Rio" the other evening. Astaire and Rogers what a pair.
I only recently found this channel and just finished watching all the videos today. This has hand down become one of my favorite channels on UA-cam. I've always had a fascination with graveyards and this channel is exactly what I was looking for; the resting places of several of my favorite celebrities that is not only interesting in the facts provided but also handled with absolute dignity and respect. Bravo to all the work you've done so far and I'm greatly looking forward to future videos.
A bit surprising to see such humble resting places for the world’s brightest stars. I suppose being fondly remembered by millions for eternity is worth much more than grand monuments.
Arthur, you are adorable. I took Kari's tour of Hollywood Forever this past Wednesday. My first time there and I knew nothing about Kari Bible prior to the tour. Later, in looking for what might be online about her, I discovered you and your very well-produced videos. You are offering such an invaluable service. I have a great interest in where many of these folks remains remain but find it very hard to locate them. I live next to Woodlawn and finding E.C. Segar (for example) was nearly impossible for me. And you know that Woodlawn is not that big. The task becomes exponentially more difficult when faced with Forest Lawn's various expanses. I have spent a lot of time searching those grounds - often to no avail. And your updates are delightful too. I was anxious to see Don Rickles marker after his year unmarked and, of course, you provided a pic. The style of your videos is just right. One gets a real sense of the scope of the various cemeteries which is something I value. And your graphics/media are so well chosen and presented, not to mention Giuseppe's effective and well-made music. You know what you are doing and it shows. I subscribed to your Patreon. I look forward to your future work...
Happy Easter Arthur (a few hours late that is)! Thank you so much for sharing this one with us!!! I've been wondering where Fred and Ginger were buried and now I know! That is so cool that they are in the same cemetery. I was raised on their movies...still can't get enough!!!! My favorite is the story of Vernon and Irene Castle. They were brilliant in it! Loved your little April Fool's joke about the grapes!!! As always, a job well done my dear!!! Take care and I'll see you next time! 😊👍👍👍👍👍
Another great presentation! Very sad to hear Stephen Boyd's life was cut short. He was a fabulous actor and every bit earned that Golden Globe for playing the best antagonist as Messala in Ben-Hurr! I enjoy watching that movie over and over! Gloria Grahame was quite a hottie back in her day!
Ms. Rogers starred with Joseph Cotton in 1944's classic Christmas movie, "I'll Be Seeing You", which has got to be one of the most underrated Christmas classics ever. She was a wonderful woman...truly!
HAPPY EASTER.I really enjoy watching you videos and I am a current subscriber to this channel.Your videos are truly the best cemetery tour I've ever seen.Keep them coming.May God bless and keep you and make his face shine upon you.
Happy Easter 🐰 and April Fool's 🍇 Mr. Dark!!! I just LOVE your channel....I always learn something new every time!!! My favorite fact was the last one with Frank Kelly Freas... Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to getting all the history and facts about each celebrity!!! 😘😍😘YOU ROCK!!!! 🐰🍇🐰🍇🐰
My mother is interred there. I have seen Fred’s grave but didn’t realize there were more famous people there. It’s a lovely area. Thanks for sharing and Happy Easter

Sweet Glory to the word received from this video post. You better speak that unfiltered truth. Thank you! I wish I could give more thumbs up to this post.
P.S. Adele Jergen's husband, Glenn Langan, was also an actor, seen in films like Dragonwyck, and The Amazing Colossal Man.
Hollywood Graveyard .. love your videod... please explain why someone would have an unmarked grave?
Hollywood Graveyard i
Hollywood Graveyard he also starred on radios , Mystery is my hobby.
Dragonwyck was a great film.
I so agree.

Ginger Rogers had the best, most beautiful gowns.
Ginger was one of the most talented people in Hollywood she matched Fred's dance moves step for step and she did it in heels I love watching their movies
She was the greatest ever and was not a dancer by trade !
my favorite movie of hers is Bachelor Mother..
Oh God, that had me all emotional! I'm such a big fan of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, I cried when you showed their graves! I would listen to this dude read the phone book. He has a voice that would have sounded great on the radio if they listened to the radio anymore.
His voice is classic
@@gabrielleelliott7388 Totally agree.
I agree. I love the music too

Who can ever forget Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire !
May they R I P !
I’ve been binge watching your videos. I thought I was the only one who found cemeteries fascinating! Keep up the good work.
Happy Easter & Happy Passover. I really enjoy these tours. It's nice to remember these folks and all the joy they brought to our lives through their entertainment. Me too I'm shocked
Me too

And Ginger had to do all the steps that Fred did, but she had to do them all backwards and in high heels. :)
I love how we can learn so much watching your videos. Thank you.
Happy Easter! Love and appreciate Hollywood Graveyard! Blessings❤
Fred Astaire also played a dramatic role in "On The Beach" one of my favorite flicks.
But yes he was the ultimate dancing icon.
Lovely to see the final resting places of Fred & Ginger. Your videos are so enjoyable. You should come to the UK and do a special some time!
I am thoroughly enjoying the backstory on each of the burials!
I remember a comment she made when someone was praising Fred Astaire's dancing. You think he's great, I did in heels and backwards!
I was surprised to read his favorite dance partner was Rita Hayworth.
They had lots of tension behind the scenes with each other. She wanted to be a single serious actress and resented the song and Dance stuff she did with Fred. She came back for one more team up in the late 40's but that was for money nothing else. Her and Fred never really made up before his death.

I. HAVE. BEEN. TO. THIS. CEMENTRY. SO. MANY. TIMES. IT. BRINGS. BACK. SUCH. MEMORIES
Hi there, I’m one of Ginger Rogers cousins and is like to appreciate you doing this and remembering her!
I always wanted to know where Ginger&Fred were buried...Nice work Arthur Dark💖
Just priceless this touch of humor at the end of each video! Thanks for your fine work.
Done with respect for Hollywood golden era ❤
Just a note to say how much I enjoy your channel videos and how pleased I am that you take such a respectful approach to the lives and careers of all these entertainers. Great work!
I’ve waited for awhile for a new episode of Hollywood Graveyard!! I love them so interesting!! Keep them coming 👍🏼🙏🏽
You got me. Wasn’t expecting the April fool at the end 🇺🇸

Fred and Gene dancing together finally. It rocks to see how different their styles are.
Great presentation! He always impresses me with his cool voice that makes me want to listen all the time. Delicate topic but handled with respect.
I just cant get enough of this stuff i love it , you do awsome work
Happy Easter! Ive always wanted to dance like Ginger Rogers.
I used to watch Grape Ape as a young child, simply because purple is my favorite color. Thanks for the memories!
Thank you, dear Arthur, for another wonderful video! And you had me at the end, as I watched and wondered what other grapes there could be! Ha!
Another Classic Video
I love the less famous people, you narrate so well. Thanks.
Amazed that Fred Asta ire graveside is so very simple. Almost sad....
Arthur, you're very personable and welcoming your channel is amazing filled with great knowledge.
Happy Easter 🐰 and April Fool's 🍇 Mr. Dark!!! I just LOVE your channel....I always learn something new every time!!! My favorite fact was the last one with Frank Kelly Freas... Fred & Ginger. Such talent and class that is long since gone.
I’m so addicted to your videos. This will be the closest I’ll ever get close to visiting these gravesites. Thank you for these amazing videos.
dang i love this stuff
If you love it so much why don't you marry it?
My mother is interred there. I have seen Fred’s grave but didn’t realize there were more famous people there. It’s a lovely area. Thanks for sharing and Happy Easter
I’m addicted to these videos! I fall asleep to them.
I'm surprised Astaire was buried this far from Hollywood. Should have put I'm In Heaven on his headstone.
Happy Easter i love the Fred Astaire part very much and the April fool part was awesome you guys are the best 🐤🐰🐣
I'm always looking forward to watching your videos 💗
Ginger Rogers was the greatest ever !!
Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers - talent extraordinaire...
I read somewhere - don't recall where...
In an interview, Ginger Rogers was asked about performing with such a great dancer as Fred Astaire - she quipped "I do everything Fred Astaire does, except I do it backwards and in heels..."
Even if she didn't actually say it - Its' perfect!
Happy Easter Day Man! Many memories of Fred and Ginger and their dancing numbers. And I tell you one thing about the character wich voice Anthony Magro did it in the "Family Addams" show. While in english version you call him "Cousin Itt", in the Latin Spanish doubling he was known like the name "Tío Cosa". He made me laugh too much. Greets from Peru...
Was recently thinking about whether or not you've been to Fred Astaire's grave and I just missed it. Always glad to see your videos in my Subscriptions!
Hahahaha that grape thing got me. I was wondering how'd you do a whole channel on famous grapes.
You really had me there Arthur!! Can't say it enough, I LOVE your historical remembrances of Hollywood's elite and many who supported in the industry. Another great one for the books!! 🌹
Thanks for this Passover/Easter treat! Frank Kelly Freas was an amazing illustrator and I am so happy that you included him in this 'tour'!!
Happy Easter Mr. Dark! I do so love these tours and the trips down Memory Lane! Thank you so much for what you do!
Happy Easter Arthur! Another great vid! And.....mmmm....grape soda! Oh and yes, a grape sno cone!
Thanks for these dude. Me and my mom love watching them and learning things about older celebrities
Excellent and interesting as usual. So enjoy the historic marathons. My mom introduced me to the 30s and 40s movies. My kids watched them and now my grandkids. Hope you had a blessed Easter.
Thanks for another sensational video, Happy Easter.
Beautiful tributes to these celebrities.
Brilliant.......
Thank you so much for these tours. I love the Hollywood history and research you do!
Just made my day. HAPPY EASTER.
LINDA R me too
Even your joking is classy! You don't seem trapped by your own persona, thank you. Many media presenters get caught.
Of all the video's posted here on UA-cam regarding Grave Tours, each and everyone of them should use yours as the standard of how to present their videos to the public.
As one who has been drawn to visit graveyards and pay my respect to those who came before me, it is exceptionally wonderful to watch your videos without actually travelling to all these famous and/or infamous resting places. Thank you for your passion and your posting. /bow.
Absolutely love your videos! The best! Hoping to visit some of these cemeteries soon!
Thank you Mr. Dark for the Easter episode. This one was the most educational. You referenced movies and actors that i would love to watch. Thank you.
