- I have made this Matar Ke Chole in pressure cooker which makes this recipe quick and easy. In this Matar Ke Chole recipe I have shown how to make Peas Curry. Matar Ke Chole is very famous in UP and Bihar, in Maharashtra Matar Ke Chole is known as Ragda. This Sukhe Matar Ki Sabzi (Peas Curry) by kabitaskitchen is very easy to follow and requires very less ingredients.
मटर छोले बनाने की आसान विधि
Preparation time - 30 minutes
serving-4
Ingredients:
Dry peas/white peas-200 gm
(Soaked it for 6-8 hrs or overnight)
Onion(chopped)-2(large)
Tomato(paste/grated)-2(medium)
Ginger garlic(paste/grated)-1 tbsp
Coriander leaves-1/4 cup
Roasted cumin powder-1/2 tsp
Dry red chilli-2
Bay leaves-2
Black pepper powder-1/4 tsp
Cooking oil-3 tbsp
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste or 1.5 tsp
Cumin powder-1/2 tsp
Coriander powder-1/2 tsp
Garam masala-1/3 tsp

Today : After tempering, on low flame sauted the onion on low flame till transculent and pink - rest followed your method religiously - oh my ! The result was excellent and tasty. My daughter, spouse loved it. Had with rice for lunch. Thanks and God bless you and family abundantly

Today I tried out this recipe, though I was skeptical about the method because the pressure cooking is done at the end for the entire stuff. But it was a pleasant surprise that the dish turned out very good. The masala had been properly absorbed, and the taste was really good. And the consistency was just right. Thank you, Kabita.

I was not this lucky. Somehomw thr peas did not get cooked at all. I dont know what was the problem. I had soaked it for ample time. I tried to recook the recipe as well. But it still did not work. Pressure cooking at the end did not work for me. I cud have very well cooked it without salt initially and brought it all together in the end !

Thanks dear. While making this recipe in my way taste was good but the cooking of vatana goes wrong. Sometimes gets overcooked or remains hard. I tried your method of pressure cooking. At medium flame 1 whistle and 2nd on high flame. So I did it worked. 😘
