You notice how even when Chief sees Miranda, he never ever tells her that he did this, they only say they Keyes died. That must have been a hard pill for him to swallow when he sees her.

In the very first draft of halo 2 miranda knows about chief killing keyes and sticks bomb on his back and pushes him down do a elevator shaft for killing her father not sure if either would have killed chief though.

I'm thinking... It's supposed for the modern armors such as the MKVl from h4 to have a recording system in the helmets, perhaps the MKV had that system too? That would have allowed to other executives (and perhaps later to Miranda) to watch those recordings?
I can't imagine the kind of gorey mulch that would be over Chief's hand, like all that bone, eyeballs and brain matter.
Due to the decomposing and assimilating state of Keyes' body, his bones probably must have been soft and semi-digested, just as his brain must not have been much different from a slimy lump.

Keep in mind that Keyes' body had been assimilated and was decomposing, his skull was probably nothing more than a gelatinous and hollow mass with a half-melted brain.

It would be in the Covenants interest to have an Admiral to interrogate so a last second intervention is possible.
TV rules say if you didn't see the death then it likely didn't happen... we'll see.

@@gareth3437I think they might use Ackerson for this grimmly sacrifice, although I hope not, I love the actor :( But so far it feels like he's gonna join John and the actor kinda looks like Keyes from the games, atleast to me. Again, I hope I am wrong and that the TV Ackerson will survive till the end (unlike the canon one), but I have a bad feeling about all this
they killed him during the battle of reach, they're on halo 1's plot now. They did kill the arbiter though unfortunately. @thejonathan130
This disturbed me and almost gave me nightmares as a kid. I don't even consider it censored. because you still see the aftermath.
I think not seeing it makes it feel even more visceral. You see the goop splattered and hear the sound and your imagination fills in the rest, and what the human brain can conjure is more horrific than what 2001 or even 2011 Xbox graphics could pull off. Because of that seeing the aftermath is genuinely disturbing.

In the Anniversary version, there is a terminal on this level that details the last bit of Captain Keyes' mind before it is vanquished by the Flood.
It's pretty brutal and horror-movie level stuff.
Still would love to see a cut scene were he's actually morphed into that flood biomass..... Would be badass but sad 🙏💯🔥
Halo went from aliens to zombies in the first game.
And it's based off a scene in the novel 'Halo: The Flood', which depicts Keyes resisting in the exact same way.
The last missions after 343 guilt spark were scary yet kinda sad to think everyone you fought with is pretty much dead.
Really, Johnson and whoever he flew off with are the only survivors.
Same kind of goes for Halo 2, everyone on In Amber Clad is gone except Miranda and Johnson.

Classic graphics flood keyes is superior to the remastered, the way his body is fused and deformed into the flood biomass, how his face is drowning in, the streteched and deformed limbs, truly horrifying

Anniversary is more brutal
I think what makes the Flood entities in Classic graphic "superior" to some people is simply because of the lack of details in the texture. It's like seeing a barely identifiable blob with human features that makes you go, "Ewww what the hell is that supposed to be?"
Personally I'm always creeped out by Carrier Forms even today, but not in Halo 3 and remaster graphics.
Wow, that is so brutal. Spartans can punch through solid metal, bone is nothing compared to it. Kinda glad they gave us the camera angles they did so we wouldn't be disturbed by that punch through the skull.

Captain literally had his noggin fisted in the first entry in the franchise.
Made Halo 5 rated T as well. Not to mention they were gonna bring the Didact back half composed
Eh the series was never as brutal after the first game. Heck I remember in 04 being disappointed I couldn't paint floors by punching corpses which I did more than I should in CE (mostly on AOTCR's first bridge).

Trivia. Originally, Master Chief meant to uses a Flamethrower to burn the entire Proto-Gravemind, and retrieves the charred skull of Captain Keyes, to carries it back to the Pillar of Autum to activates the Self-destruction with his Command Neural Interface.
But this scene was scrapped and changed, as some producers and even test players, were creeped out, shocked and even sick for this, making that they simply made that Master Chief punched through his skull and retrieves his Command Neural Interface.
I love the amount of detail Bungie went through so much showed where you can actually see Chief punching keys in the head something that other game developers would simply not actually animate instead it would be like the air or something
This is the man whose fists can fling Banshees off the horizon. Flesh is nothing compared to that.
I'm not sure how many people realize how horrific his death actually is.
He was forcefully inserted into that Flood mass by Flood infected Marines.
The Flood tendrils then began puncturing and punching holes into his body and head while he was still conscious and awake.
He was able to watch, fully conscious but immobilized, while the Flood virus mutated his body.
Only after that did the Flood virus rip into his consciousness and begin psychologically torturing him with horrifically real hallucinations while probing his memories for information.
This was going on for somewhere between 12 and 24 hours before the Chief finds him but because of the Flood's psychological torment it feels like weeks for him.
And he fought it the entire time. Fully succumbing to the Flood and dying only minutes before we see him in game.
Keyes was one of the toughest characters in the entire Halo series and we don't talk about him enough.

Okay i notice the sound and particles plays out early during the classic cutscene. The obvious difference when Chief steps out the cryopod. That there really needs to be addressed.
Meaning the logic is faster due to 60/120fps, so the sounds play earlier while the visuals stay the same?
The cryopod thing I have noticed for both OG and Remastered graphics.
@@OMGtheykilledKenny42 by the grain of salt, it could be not related to fps but it seems like this bug was originate from Gearbox PC port, to Halo CE Anniversary 360 and then MCC. So, it's been like this almost 21 years unfixed.
I know i told you this years ago Generalkidd about the random grunt with the plasma rifle. But i found out where it was it on oni sword base when you get in the base past scanning to the door then take a right very fast and you could find 3 of them but they die vey fast as they are in a room with 3 to 4 marine. Just wanted to let you know.

classic graphics are the way to go. I only used to play anniversary graphics but they kind of ruin the game. The elites look stupid and the atmosphere is totally different. To bright and not dark and spooky enough.
The only thing I kinda like is the Captain Keyes flood form in the anniversary graphics, but yeah this game needs a proper anniversary addition and not what we got back in 2011

I got a editing system for the first time and to practice I made a goofy edit of ce cutscenes and this is the first cutscene it shows.
Imagine if this was the original TOZT flamethrower scene ala Alien Director’s Cut they planned: John was supposed to use one to set the proto on fire and burn the captain’s skull out of its body to retrieve the neural implants. I don’t know if it was ever animated but they cut it because they did model Keyes’ burned skull & it looked _too good,_ scaring even the development team.
It wasn’t like in Half Life 2 where even in the the final game you could stumble across burned corpses in the sewers courtesy of the cut cremator combine, and in later Source engine builds, zombies could actually subtly blacken if you burned them. I don’t know if 2004/2006 Source with the superior fire effects did that but Episode 2’s Source build & Black Mesa certainly could.
I think the real reason why this was discarded is simply because the flamethrower was cut from the campaign. In the game files you can find marine voice lines for when the Chief kills flood with a flamethrower
@@Lagger625 I think the flamethrower was cut because of the skull thing. Don’t see why they scrapped the whole gun for a single scene but eh. At least in Halo PC & all versions of MCC they restore it as a multiplayer gun. SPV3 & Rebalanced even put it in the campaign.
The flamethrower was cut after Keyes' death was dumbed down. They simply couldn't get it working right.
@@KnoxCarbon So it wasn’t so much that Keyes’ skull looked too gruesome but more they had trouble animating the scene in the first place? Then after changing the scene they cut the gun itself as they couldn’t find a use for it after that.
@@lionocyborg6030 It was the skull texture and model itself (which was repurposed as the Oddball) that made the devs wince. Lorraine did too good a job making it realistic. So the cutscene was reworked to be less violent and the Flamethrower later got axed because they couldn't get it working and balanced in time. Based on leaked builds, I'm fairly certain they didn't get cutscene animations done until a month or so before the game launched.

A couple of things. In classic graphics there was a small cloud of smoke like an explosion. Was that his neural lace? And second. THAT SHIT WENT ELBO DEEP WTF?!?
Classic is off on MCC for some reason (not sure about CEA 360). Might be one of the rare consequences of doing 60fps but those are supposed to be the impact going in and then the hand coming back out; they're just out of sync.

@@ChouRaiyukiCEA 360 may be worse as classic mode’s broken Gearbox Halo PC graphics in general in that were never fixed to match the OG Xbox. I think it also ran at 60 FPS like Gearbox Halo could, unlike Halo 1 Xbox which was locked at 30 precisely because of bugs.

@@lionocyborg6030 As far as this goes Gearbox also lacks the issue; the splats still correspond to Chief's fist as they should. I forget how Gearbox actually works but IIRC while the framerate can vary a bit it shouldn't usually stray too far from 30fps.
If CEA 360 did get bumped up though I could see it having the issue though I've never really seen or experienced playing that version so IDK if it actually has it (could also just be something 343 screwed up unintentionally in some other way and no one realized it till now).

I really prefer the more plant look of the flood we see in halo 1 and 2 over halo 3's more zombie, fleshy flood
It was always fleshy. Halo 3 was simply when they could afford to show putrid tissue more clearly. (Older games like Tomb Raider 1 & System Shock 2 don’t count as those fleshy areas were designed to look fully alive, not undead)
Is the particle effects on classic graphics shooting out too early before Chief punches Keyes an MCC bug? I didn't play the original CE but if I remember correctly it wasn't always like that on the Master Chief Collection and the particles shot out at the correct time
It's one of the many faults that come from the gearbox port. The MCC's graphics, animations, and what-not for the "classic" graphics are just not as good as the original Xbox game.
Don't know if this is true or not, but I heard once that Chief was meant originally to take Keyes' whole skull with him, but they toned it down and the skull model was reused for multiplayer.

Original Halo CE was the best, it gave me chills first time i encountered flood, despite the fact that remastered version has the better and improved graphics, flood looks kind of goofy.
