Charlize didn't reveal the whole story about her mom shooting her dad in self-defense until some years later. Her parents had a somewhat turbulent marriage due mostly to the father's alcoholism. It's all just very sad. Charlize has a very close relationship with her mom although I'm not sure if the mom is still alive at this moment.

Wow, who would have thought that Will could have fooled so many for so long. This is from 23 years ago, and Charlize does not appear to have much respect for Will. She called him a freak for not just the way he handled himself during the golf, but she said for many things. Maybe someone should have done Mr. Smith a favor many years ago and slapped him and straightened him out a little. It is a shame, he is very talented, but his career now will probably always be tainted, and now how his persona from all those years before kind of comes off him being a phony.

@Caps Fan. Fooled how? Cuz he showed that after being one of the most positive Black figures in Hollywood for 30 plus years, that he wasn't as perfect as we thought he was? Let's knock it off. What he did to Chris was horrible and deserved all the backlash he got in that moment but if we were to judge everyone off of one horrible mistake they've made we all would be crucified that's including all the other celebrities you probably adore, people close to you and even you yourself. Will and his career will be jus fine. It's a setback, I wouldn't call it tainted. And as far as Charlize goes, her and Will made another movie 8 years after this (Hancock) and became good friends so I highly doubt anything she said on here was taking seriously

I would have asked her ,does she ever get fed up when she walks into a room and all the men go silent? I witnessed this once live when stunning young woman walked into a bar,on her way to the restaurant. Bar full of males, immediate silence until she walked out. I was just as stunned as the rest, not in a lustful way. Just stunned at her beauty. Until an older guy broke the continuing silence by quoting " bet she drinks Carling black label" the hole bar howled together. Older Brits will understand the quote.

I worked on one movie with Charlize Theron… she has no idea who I was or what I did but she was sweet and gracious and pleasant and since that day I’ve adored her. I only wish I had worked on more projects with her but not enough to get the look. 😉

Almost no one knows that she is a native Afrikaans speaker, which is almost the same as Dutch. That is really cool to me because as a Dutch speaker I can understand some rare interviews on UA-cam of her that almost no one else can understand which I think is really cool.

Perhaps you could teach me so I could pray to the whatever gods that Charlize would marry me … then I’d be the happiest man in the world.
I’ve been in love with her since 2 days in The Valley. I couldn’t breathe whenever she was in a scene… and hurt so bad when she got shot … I hate rock musicians now … Steve !!! That was my brothers name. Steve !

Hilarious after all this time that the Letterman crew still doesn’t know Charlize Theron’s mom killed her father in self defense
Says a lot about that time and last era. She wouldn’t have assumed he or his staff knew of that event and so she knew to take everything in the classic sense of grace and humor. Doesn’t diminish how she was affected by it; it just shows how any similar “gaffe” today would trigger indignation on a national scale

Letterman can never be replaced. Drag him out of retirement; give him a face-lift. pay him 10 million a week, and put him back on. This a serious suggestion, and PLEASE no one say "waddabout Jay Leno?" My reply to that is pleeeeeeeze we have no interest in a car collection on Prime Time Television.
