The subtitles are absolute bullshit..!! It is so far away from the literal meaning and not even close in conveying important words.. I wish it was better translated !! Atleast the passive aggressive tone is conveyed well!!
For example "You are a beautiful girl" given in subtitle is for "Kanninu Ponkani" ... "Which literally means "Golden first sight for the eye".. so the emphasis is on how the singer perceives the girl, how pleasing she is for his eye .. not yelling directly at her how beautiful she is... 🙃

Yes “ Kani” in malayalam loosely means sight .. but I guess English translation can never do full justice as some words don’t exist in English
